The food truck is at the Polynesian cultural center. It was so good that we returned on Sunday for another. But they are closed on Sunday and Wednesday. Two more than ample size fish filets. Plenty of fries. Not overly salty. The food came out quickly. And the young lady taking our order was very kind and welcoming. They have picnic tables right outside near the food truck to sit and enjoy the meal. A+

Crunchy large servings of battered fried fish. Chips were fresh and hot. Service was fast

The menu features a variety of options, including classic fish and chips, jumbo fish burgers, shrimp, calamari, and battered oysters. They use locally sourced produce and local fish in their signature crispy batter. I was told this place has the BEST fish and chips on the island. The fish and chips were very very delicious and the batter was light but crispy.

My husband and I were excited to try Kiwi Style Fish and Chips before our Polynesian Cultural Center tour. We ordered the fish and chips, a side of calamari, and three battered shrimp. However, the cashier only charged us for one of the shrimp, I assume he didn't hear me say three. It took fifteen minutes to receive our food, which was disappointing since we thought everything would be freshly prepared. However, once we received our food, we found our fries to be lukewarm. Overall, the food was just okay, with the fish being our favorite part of the meal.

Best Fish and Chips I've ever had. The batter is light and crispy. The fish is soft and flakey. I love it, My kids love it, It's always a win. Sometimes it takes a while to come out, But it always worth the wait! They also h e tables with umbrellas in front of the truck to sit and enjoy.

Really good fish and chips. Juicy, flaky fish. Two large pieces. Good batter. Fries are good. I just wish the fish batter had a little more seasoning. Even the tartar sauce was mild. However, I love spicy food so my taste buds could be the issue.

We were visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center and stopped by this food truck for some lunch before we headed in. The fish was delicious and fresh with a crispy batter and not greasy. Combined with the tartar sauce it was perfect and hit the spot. Food is made to order and worth the few minutes wait! We found seating nearby with a nice breeze and shade.

November 2025: $18 fish & chips plus $1 for extra tartar sauce.

Not bad fish and chips. Uses beer batter. Was kinda greasy. Chips were okay. Not fresh cut.

Kiwi Snack pack

Nicest people working there. Big portions and perfectly fried fish and chips! They must be using good oil. It doesn't smell old oil at all. Very delicious. Fish and chips a good choice. Kiwi snack pack you get fish, calamari and potato. Fish taco is delicious. With the salad, it is a great balance of fried and fresh. You cannot go wrong with Kiwi Style!

My husband initially wanted to take me out to a nice place for our anniversary and he had the…read moreCrouching Lion in mind. I had Roy's Beach House in mind. He relented and agreed to stop by Crouching Lion after Roy's just to get the bug out of his system, since we've both never been to the original Crouching Lion, now with a new owner after 2020. We have both never been to Roy's Beach House or Lion before, good thing we came here first (read my dismal review for C.L.)! I warned him that it was going to be expensive here, with some reviewers reporting $160 for lunch (thank you to those who mention the price, which I find is sorely lacking in reviews lately - guess everyone's a millionaire and price doesn't matter). RESERVATIONS: We didn't make any via Open Table (not my favorite platform). We were able to get a seat at opening time of 1130 AM on a Saturday in Sept. Less than 10 minutes wait. Judging by the outfits of everyone before us, they just stepped off the beach or casually sauntered in. PARKING: on the grounds of the Turtle Bay Ritz-Carlton. Valet park with validation or find parking in the lot, which is free (beach access) and walk a short distance. Roy's is not inside the hotel itself, but a free-standing business off to the side, right on the beach. AMBIANCE: Beach vibes with shorts and T shirts. We wore aloha attire because it was our special day. Open air dining with umbrellas or indoor patio dining to open air. Loved the ocean breezes from our beach-front view. Live music which was very good added to the tropical ambiance! SERVICE: Wells was our server, 5-star all the way!! We mentioned it was our anniversary and at the end she brought out a scoop of sherbet with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate in Hawaiian, too cool!! All of the other servers were very attentive, waters refilled, used dishes removed promptly. Never a wait for anything. DRINKS: all excellent!! Habanero Margarita ($18 - 4/5 buzz rating): I don't balk at the prices of cocktails anymore, since it's the standard to pay crazy prices. This one was worth it, super smooth, spicy as heck (your choice of habanero, japapeno or chipotle), great taste, super fresh drink. Yummy! Roy's Beach House so far has the highest buzz rating of any restaurant I've been (except for Cheeky Tiki in Kona and ), and it's not only the empty stomach talking either. Their stuff is quality. Pineapple Infused Martini ($18 - 4/5 buzz rating): Fresh pineapples sitting in vodka for 10 days, mixed up and chilled w/ other ingredients, amazing! My husband ordered this and I got a sip, which was super delicious. Roy's signature are the infused pineapples, which I have seen at other locations. Nice. APPETIZERS: Calamari ($25): our least favorite thing here. Breaded in mochiko and deep fried. Teeny tiny pieces, with a white aioli sauce. Disappointing for the price, will skip this if we ever come back. Go to Haleiwa Beach House for the best calamari, hands down! The white sauce was also blah. Haleiwa Beach House serves their deep fried, meaty calamari with a spicy nuoc cham sauce, which I love. Fish Tacos - two pieces ($20): our favorite appetizer, as recommended by Wells, and some passing wait staff. Delicious, fresh!! Both were on a flour tortilla with fresh veggies and catch of the day (swordfish). Very light, not very filling but loved it. We are still craving this. MAINS: Lobster Roll ($40): My husband's order. I tried a bite, very delicious! Side of thick-cut fries. The roll was not very greasy, which was nice. More lobster than bread, which was a nice touch. Medium sized. Misoyaki Glazed Salmon ($36): Namul vegetables, wasabi butter and black rice. Very nice dish with a medium-portioned size of Salmon fillet, which was cooked just right and very delicious. PRICE: Total Cost before tip: $195 (rounded up). If you're trying to add up from what we ordered above, don't...we ordered more drinks! RETURN FACTOR: Will definitely come back for drinks and the fish tacos, will skip the calamari next time.

Tasty but didn't seem to fit in the "martini" category. We shared: Caesar Salad, Karikari (cooked salmon) Roll and Grilled Ribeye. Our server had other recommendations- we probably should have gone with those. Dinner was good, but everything seems to have a lot of sauce; food didn't have that "wow" for us (the "Loaded Yama Mashed Potato" was a side & that was pretty impressive). Was hoping for a better sushi selection (basic nigiri- something not drenched in a sauce). You're pretty limited on restaurant choices in this area, so I would go again, but maybe stick with seafood or appetizers.

The flavors felt much more elevated than I expected from a beachside restaurant. Everything tasted thoughtfully prepared, and it genuinely felt like there was a real chef working in the kitchen rather than just standard bar food. The service was excellent and very attentive and the indoor-outdoor seating ambience with the ocean across the street was amazing. Even with the limited menu, I would happily come back to try the dinner offerings. Definitely a great spot to stop if you're in Haleiwa and looking for something a little more elevated.

Skip the poke here! I know, I know, those are fighting words in Hawaii and probably not the opening…read moreyou expected for a four-star review. And it's not to say that I didn't like the poke bowl I had at Beach House. (I mean, what's not to love about about digging into some fresh ahi when you're literally feet away from the beach?) It's just that I had the otherworldly experience of eating from Foodland's poke bar the night prior to my lunch here and I couldn't help comparing it to the legendary Foodland. That said, the poke was still delicious and its runner-up status didn't distract from the rest of my meal. The spicy ahi wonton was a standout starter -- the shallot, scallion, tobiko, and chili aioli approach they have for the ahi here works better for the fish than their "beach house special poke sauce" in my opinion. Top it all off with a plantation iced tea: an island version of the Arnold Palmer that replaces the customary lemonade with tropical pineapple juice. We came in around 2:30 pm so we essentially had the dining room to ourselves after the lunch rush, if you don't count the cute zebra dove bird that walked around below the table halfway into our meal, trying to see if there were any stray crumbs it could peck at. Alas, we had deemed the food too good.

It was crunchy. The fries were pipping hot and very tasty. We also tried a plate with some nice poke and coconut shrimp. The food is good quality and hits the spot. The problem was the amount of time it took to make and deliver the food to the customers. There were two people in the truck. It was as if they were cooking one thing at a time. It look at least an hour and there were not even that many people in line waiting. One woman was taking orders and the man was cooking. The woman said it was her first or second day but in the time my husband ordered, my other child and I walked around for twenty minutes looking for other options (I wanted garlic shrimp, and they did not offer that on their menu), I went across the way after our walk, ordered a meal, got my meal, and sat there waiting to eat and it still look half an hour for the rest of the family to receive their orders. It was absolutely ridiculous. As another patron stated on Yelp, perhaps they should have stopped taking orders if they could not keep up. Love the food here, but not sure I would recommend my family coming back next time.
