Maybe I'm not carved from the same metal as Texans from East Texas. Despite being an avid swimmer, I haven't yet warmed up to the idea of swimming in a lake where alligators have been sighted. But hey, to each their own! I've swam in the ocean many times. Sharks have been spotted there so maybe this is similar!? Just know that you can potentially knock "swimming with alligators" off of your bucket list by swimming at this lovely beach;). This beach park also includes gravel parking and four, nicely spaced shelters with picnic tables and grills, not a bad place to spend an afternoon or evening;)

It's so nice to be surrounded by nature and to see such great views. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and maybe bring a hiking stick if you have an issue with balance, since there are lots of uneven paths and steps. Our first visit to this Marina and these people are some of the friendliest you will meet. The…read morepark attendant was helpful in telling us about the facility (boat launch, beach, camping facilities etc. we arrived around 8pm to check the boat out after doing some maintenance but still wanted to go on the lake for a couple of hours. with all the recent flooding they will have to repair the courtesy dock but fortunately the beach is not rocky so you can beach your boat there until the dock is finished. We did not go to the fishing pier but want to check it out soon. I did talk to a lady on the phone there and she was helpful in telling us the amenities.
