I was there with my Two brothers, in 1960- 1962, under the name of David and Margret Home for…read moreChildren. There was a pool in the back, where I learned to swim as a champion in two tournaments with other foster Homes and boys homes. Took pictures in front of the home where there was a fountain, we used to run go carts around the circle, While Mr Stone and Mr Baskerville would watch, they were the director and assistant directors of our home. While there we had a boxer named Smokey. Who jumped from the 2nd story balcony, to be with us, we were in church, in the basement, as you look at the front home , it was bottom left. We got our picture in the local newspaper with Smokey. We went to Paramount Studios to see Blue Hawaii, and just missed Elvis, we saw that day, Jerry Lewis making The Nutty Professor, a scene where he picked up weights and his arms stretched to the ground while he stood there, very funny, and ate lunch with Cartwrights of Bonanza, and a slew of Stars. I could go on, but I'm trying to find that picture of Smokey and the boys of 1962!

Horrible management, will do anything to keep youth in their programs for the money…read more I was in the group home (aka placement) years ago, there was drug activity, prostitution recruitment, constant awol-ing, and fighting. Right in front of the staff. Nobody did anything about it. Nobody was kicked out. Moved. Nothing. Eventually I guess the group home shit down due to a death that occurred and they are now "merged" aka going bankrupt, with Haynes. Beware of any business with this program for the wellbeing of your child, foster child, client, etc.

For the first time in my life I have been fighting homelessness for about a year and a half now,…read moreI've tried so many agencies who claim to help in a crisis. Non have been able to provide any services, it's always some reason I don't qualify. What has the world come to where you need so much more than being homeless to qualify for services. I have exhausted so much money paying for hotels. The last hotel my family and I resided in the staff put us in a hotel room with a broken window because of their negligence my autistic son fell 4 story's and because so we are now fighting a CFS case for the past few months. My husband and I came to this organization looking to be able to save up for just a month while I continue school. Their reasoning for not helping us was because I had no connection with surrounding areas hello I'm homeless I have no connection with any area ‍ weird. They also said I couldn't go to school I have to be working which is also weird considering my husband already works, by going to school I'm working towards something more permanent for my family. Neither one of us does any type of drugs or drink, we are just a family who have been experiencing hard times that won't give up. We only needed 30 days to save up some money before our court date, finding a house is the last thing we need to complete before we can get the kids back and we were hoping to stay here for a month so we can save enough to cover move in cost when we find our next home.

There is parking in the front of store, but it usually gets taken rather quickly especially between 2 PM to 4 PM on weekdays. You can also park in the back, near the area where donations are dropped off. I usually come on Tuesdays, where discounts usually don't apply to me. I like Wednesday's where there are student/teacher discounts. To my luck, I went on a spin the wheel day today! You get to spin the wheel after your purchase for an opportunity to win items or get a discount. I like browsing their toys, vintage items, and office supplies. I usually get very good second hand items such as staplers, hole punchers, DVDs, shoes, and board games. This location is actually my favorite place to shop for vintage film cameras (I'm afraid to post this because my fellow Yelp friends will be coming more to grab them before I do!). Today, I bought a good pocket minolta film camera, some stuffed animals, and some office supplies. The cashiers are sweethearts and are willing to help you look at items! They also have an extensive amount of used clothes and furniture. It's definitely my favorite thrift store and will continue to be so.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me…read more The store has a lot of items, but it felt more cluttered than exciting. Part of what makes a great thrift store fun is the hunt, the setup, the vibe, and finding those unexpected treasures but here it felt like there was just a lot of stuff without much organization or thought behind the layout. The pricing was another thing that surprised me. A lot of the prices didn't really make sense for a thrift store and felt on the higher side compared to other spots I've visited. The atmosphere was just missing something. No cool decor, no personality, and overall the vibe wasn't there for me. It feels like it caters more to an older crowd, which is totally fine, but just not my style of thrifting. Also, no restroom available, which is always frustrating when you're shopping and spending time looking around. 4/10 for me. I love discovering new thrift stores, but this one isn't a place I'd go out of my way to visit again.

cannot say enough wonderful things about the dialysis team at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical…read moreCenter, especially the dialysis director, Brenda. When my mother became critically ill and was told she needed dialysis, our entire family was devastated. We knew very little about dialysis and feared the worst. My mother was frightened and did not want to begin treatment. Then Brenda came into our lives. With extraordinary kindness, patience, and compassion, she took the time to explain everything to us and answered all of our questions. She gave my mother the confidence to begin dialysis and brought comfort and hope to our entire family during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. Now that my mother is back in the hospital with a broken femur, Brenda continues to go above and beyond. She personally stops by my mother's room to check on her and spends time with her, showing genuine care that is truly rare. The entire dialysis team deserves recognition. The nurses are caring and compassionate, and the doctors have been exceptional. Every member of the team has treated my mother with dignity, respect, and kindness. Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Brenda leading its dialysis program. She is truly an angel, and our family will always be grateful for the outstanding care she and her team have given my mother. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I say this because she just left me in the front saying the guys would help me. To her credit she did seem pretty busy however first impressions.... Didn't see any helpers so I went back again to the office part and a very friendly and polite young man sitting at one of the desks led me to a walk in fridge and immediately I fell in love. Basil, green beans cilantro eggplant Swiss chard kale turnips carrots guava wow. There was way more variety then that I could not recall them all. All grown right there on the property and cultivated with a love for healthy eating and respect. I was thrilled to have landed there. Fruits and veggies and herbs are not cheap in the grocery store and as I am coming to learn are often genetically modified and coated with who knows what kind of chemicals and pesticides. I loved the fact in First of all the place is huge. There is a Methodist church in the front then you take a long winding road with some turns the property was beautiful and I had one of my dogs with me who was recently attacked by a much bigger dog and was clearly traumatized by the incident. Scared to go outside and body language spoke for him. Dog owners know how to read and recognize their pets To watch my sweet little soul mate excited to be outside sniffing everything so many types of plants and vegetation birds singing, butterflies and bumble bees, up and down a few paths we explored. The young man told me that I'm welcome to come back they are open Monday thru Friday and if I wanted to come everyday that would fine too I left with 2 grocery bags full of wholesome and healthy produce and my dog and I left with a little more pep in our step due to our adventure in nature at this incredible place.

The vegetables are literally throbbing with good vibes. Best of all, you get a seasonally different spread which exercises your cooking creativity. The lovely ladies who run this place tucked behind a church off Foothill Boulevard, have nurtured a wonderful California native plants garden that blooms with pops of color sequentially throughout the year. Their organization supports many local needy families with education, clothes, and financial assistance. The architecture itself is a contrast to euro-anglo-Claremont, and showcases indigenous mud-based architecture. The bilingualism of this organization demonstrates the riches of California and especially its hardworking and community-spirited Latino peoples. In contrast to the contrived, rugged individualism and commercialism of anglo-America , it feels welcoming and warm here. Bring cash to pay on site.

I took my baby in for her vaccinations and she was eligible for 3 year shots so I requested those, however when i got the paperwork and was charged they seemed to have given her the 1 year ones and i didn't request that so like what the hell? Ya know? And I couldn't even tell them to do the right one because she already got her damn shots. Not paying attention and giving my baby the wrong shot, what if it was a really bad mess up and they gave her something that could've hurt her with their incompetence? Anyways my kitty girl needs a booster and they sent me emails to schedule one but i tried and the website was being weird so i called. They told me over the phone they were not doing vaccinations anymore??? Or something stupid I'm just annoyed because the lady who answered was rude and was annoyed that i was asking like I was stupid or something even tho they sent emails saying to schedule and nothing about this new notice only when I called was I informed. So yes can be affordable with a deal but YOUR SERVICE SUCKSSSs, frick this place.
