Bark's does not have a formal policy for dealing with injuries to dogs within their care. And…read morebecause of their negligence, our family dog died from injuries sustained at Bark's. Please read on to be a better informed dog owner seeking boarding for your pet. For nearly a decade, my family had a rescue named Harry - we called him "Handsome Harry". He was a very small dog, but he made up for that with personality. He had a white tip on his tail that would become a blur when he wagged his tail enthusiastically. In October 2018, Harry was bitten at Bark's Play and Stay. He must have been bitten by a much larger dog, as there were large puncture wounds on either side of his head. On the Saturday that Harry was bitten, which we understand can and may happen, BUT my mother was not called by Bark's to notify my family about the injury, nor was he taken to the vet. On Sunday, when my mother arrived to pick him up, his head was swollen, he was dehydrated, and nearly unresponsive. He was taken to an emergency vet on Monday, where the vet informed us that his injuries had started to abscess. Harry died the next day, and it left my family devastated. All we wanted, was for Bark's Play and Stay to create a formal policy and process to better protect dogs in their care in the future. My mother recently reviewed Bark's stating the same thing, and her account was conveniently reported as fraudulent to Facebook - and thus the review has temporarily been removed. We just want owners to be informed, so what happened to Handsome Harry never happens to another dog under their care again.

I have left my girl with Wag Resprt 2 times, a year apart. Last year, my dog came home skinny, and…read moredidn't bark for 3 weeks. I have a hound dog. She is a barker. So this year, I supplied a harness, and a note asking them to use it, and even advised they could leave it on her if that was easier. I talked to 2 separate front desk attendents. They did not use it. I recieved a picture of her with a choke collar. I asked them then to please use the harness. The next picture had the harness on while STILL using the choke caller. Not sure what the point of that was. I also didn't get a picture for two of the days, even though I was on that plan. I am extremely disappointed. And had at least *some* hope of a better 2nd experience. We won't be back. Please reconsider if your dog is a barker, or puller.

We got the same story as others with, "Your dogs didn't eat very well for the first handful of…read moredays, but then they started eating normally", yet we left a 30lb bag of food for them, and came back with maybe 5lbs at most. Strange, I know. What really gave us a red flag, is when I asked to see thier facilities, and both women at the front (one skinny, one big) acted extremely timid to show us where our dogs had just spent the last 7 days. They refused to allow me to see the exact kennel that they were being held in claiming they couldn't "because a manager wasn't there", giving off an extremely uneasy vibe as I tried to do so as if they were blatantly hiding something. Maybe if they were more transparent in where our 15yr+ old senior animals were staying, we would return. It's the way they came off, deliberately trying to avoid showing us where our animals were kept that raises suspicion. No cots were visible from where they were allowing me to view either, just concrete floors, which I'm sure my elderly dogs had the pleasure of sleeping on for the duration of their stay. I truly wish there was a more reputable business that wasn't so secretive about how our animals are being kept. We won't be taking our dogs here again because of this.
