Need to decorate your pad?…read more Just come here. Seriously this is a gigantic Winners and Homesense all-in-one location at the Place Versailles mall, literally steps away from Radisson metro station. Like all Winners and Homesense, it can be hit or miss but I've walked away with more hits than misses at this particular location. You'll find all sorts of unique items for your home if you like to decorate like I do. Recipe books, rugs, olive wood cutting boards, vanity mirrors, hand-blown glass vases from Poland, you'll find all of that here and much more. I think because this location is farther away from the city center, it seems to stock better stuff. Not a big deal. If you're on the metro, it is about 20 minutes from downtown, but keep your ear buds on or read a book and you'll be here in no time. Also, if you like picking up and collecting quality recipe books, this Homesense is the best place for it. I have picked up classics like the 2 volume boxed set of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child, the classic of Italian cooking "The Silver Spoon", "The Gourmet Cookbook Vol. I and II", all of it in hardcover and for a fraction of what you would pay for them anywhere else. The Julia Child set I often see online for $60+. I picked it up here for $30. It's always worth stopping here and looking because stock changes all the time here and you'd be very surprised what you'll find.

I love this place. We don't buy a lot of new furniture so I pick what I have very carefully. Lovaco…read morehas beautiful furniture that fits our space and style, made from materials that I can feel good about, and that wear well. We got our sofa from them at the start of the pandemic and our giant dog immediately adopted it, which would be hard on a lesser sofa, but ours still looks great. We've since gotten a living room chair, and a stool that are PERFECT and comfortable, a beanbag chair which is the most charming thing we own, and a couple of gorgeous lamps. The service is always wonderful, both friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to seeing what they'll have in their new, bigger space. This is the store for people who tend towards a mid-century or Scandinavian aesthetic but are grossed out by how shoddy Ikea has become and can afford to spend a little more on something that's local, much better made, and noticeably better looking.

I loved the multiple green spaces around the café area where you could relax with a drink and a book under some greenery. Large floor to ceiling windows let in plenty of light and the opportunity to watch the world go by outside. We picked up a bottle of olive oil as a gift. Will definitely be back for more browsing.

The staff was welcoming but definitely left you to explore and wander the store. It also houses a cool little cafe with bread and pastries from L' Amour au Pain. The latte was really good. Sorry, no drip brewed coffee for any Americans out there. I believe they make sandwiches and salads for a quick no fuss lunch. Ok, now the part I've been hesitant on whether I should share because I want it to be my own little piece of urban paradise. I figured in the end, it is not mine to keep and I would be doing the business owners a disservice by not helping them attract more clients to them. This place should be shared with anyone willing to explore the hidden treasures of the City. Most tourists would not come into a home furnishings place, but trust me. You want to at least grab a coffee and follow me. My absolute favorite part is their little shaded "terrasse" ally. If you ever need a little hideaway when you are in Old Port. It's the perfect place. I feel like I've been transported to a different time and place. Nothing fancy, just tranquil, a simple elegance that the French are synonymous with. I wonder if the manager would kick me out if I curled up with a book one day.

This Rue Rachel storefront showcases a well-curated selection of quality items at, as an American I can vouch, affordable prices! The EcoDépot team member there was also super friendly and helpful. Apparently, this is a smaller location compared to their big warehouse in Lachine. Nevertheless, so impressive! If I lived in Montreal, would be checking out what they have regularly, as they cycle through whatever becomes available. With some nice mid-century items, what impressed at this EcoDépôt Montréal me was a real leather, reclining La-z-boy-type Love Seat, that was on sale at 50% off... making it $85 Canadian. Wow! Amazing! While one of the head rest had a small issue propping up the head rest vertically, (if that's your thing,) the biggest issue preventing it from flying out the door was its weight. Would have considered taking it back with me to New York, but alas prohibitive transportation costs (and potentially tariff issues) nixed the thought. EcoDépôt Montréal also has a website to check out what available with shipping. Why buy new stuff at Ikea when you can get some truly interesting well designed, used pieces here!
