I spent the weekend at Minerals Resorts during Spring Break. The breakfast buffet was filling. They had smoked salmon and capers salad, fruits, small breakfast pastries, eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, and pancakes. The Tuscan dinner buffet was the best buffet I ever eaten. The flavors were bursting. I paid to see the mentalist, Kent Axell and it was so much fun! I would recommend ! If you want a casual dinner and you are a guest at the resort, then why not. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We came here for dinner and breakfast twice. Appetizers: We had their roasted Brussels sprouts. It was delicious and crispy. It was a large portion too. Crab cake, we ordered two. It was very good. We got their salad with pistachios, beets, cucumbers and pomegranate. It was huge and very tasty. The shrimp was very good. However, the chicken was over cooked and very dry. I didn't finish the chicken. Honestly, I wish I didn't add the chicken because the salad was big enough and good alone. Breakfast Buffet: They have buffets when there are a lot of guests checked in or else it would be a sit down breakfast. We really enjoyed their buffet options. They even had a fresh omelette station. Our holiday was derailed by family members who fell ill. At the last minute, came here Christmas Day with my wife, her sister and husband. Arrived late for lunch. We were hungry and sad. The manager and staff were superb. Since we were late, ordered appetizers from the lunch menu. Shrimp cocktails and avocado toast. All delicious. Roaring fireplace/beautiful tree. We stayed for dinner and were not disappointed. Excellent wine pairings with the food. Lamb shank was done to perfection (meat fell off the bone). My wife loved the Chilean sea bass that was fresh and delicious. We were made to feel like family. The staff Barbie and Brie took excellent care of us. Joe the maitre'd was knowledgeable and genuinely friendly as was the rest of the staff, all good people who went above and beyond. And to top it off I later ran into my old co-worker friend with her family from Queens. Truly a special evening. I will return. read more

We're staying at minerals, so we went the first night, and it was a bit hectic. I ordered the shrimp which I thought was very average. The sauce was a bit funky, and I couldn't tell what was off about it, but that could've just been me. I then ordered the chicken, and for some reason my meal never got put in with the others, so I ended up waiting 20-25 minutes longer for my entree than my family members did. The chicken was just fine, but the wait was not ideal. Our server was very good considering there were 10 of us, so credit to her. Went here the first night my husband and I stayed at the hotel. I thought it was going to be really good considering we are staying at Crystal Springs and especially because of how pricey it is! We could not have been more disappointed. $19 for calamari that wasn't even crispy. $16 for an appetizer pizza that was microwaved middle school pizza. Everything just was not good. I was told by my mom that in 2020 her students used to work there and they said the food is packaged food that is microwaved or fastly heated up. The next night I decided to look at the reviews and I should have looked before going! Not only are they a 2 star restaurant but the owner comments on all of the bad reviews! They are fully aware of how bad their restaurant is and still keep it as it is. It is not worth going to eat there for how much you will spend. Let me start by saying that I was a bit of a captive audience. I had my toddler and elder mother with me and my car very nearly broke down on our way to Minerals Hotel. With that in mind, we ate all our meals here. I made dinner reservations based on their recommendation but honestly it was not packed on a Thursday night(more so Friday). We were greeted warmly each time and service staff quickly recognized us and were service oriented; they wanted tips and they worked their back ends off to earn them. We were able to charge to the room and just tip at the end. The seating area is located on the second floor above the lobby with high ceilings and giant floral/kite decor. Breakfast buffet had a great assortment of items, including an omelette station. If you're staying on property you get a $40 room credit towards breakfast at Kites. (I don't think staff realized just how thankful I was that they let me take boxes of pastries and fruit from breakfast; my picky toddler and diabetic mother quite literally survived off those snack boxes.) Lunch and dinner was from a set menu, the prices were astronomical but again we were there and we were hungry. There is a kids menu with separate selections from breakfast and then same menu for lunch/dinner. I had a lovely beer (both lunch and dinner) and was pleasantly surprised to find out I can take the beer "to go" as long as I stayed on site. When I stay at Minerals Hotel again I'll likely be back. read more

Went there about a month ago with my date. Never had been there before she lives in the area so decided to go all I can say was my experience was a 10 across the boards. From the ambiance of kites to the great service that I had to even getting the bill which I thought was going to be way more than what it was pricing very very reasonable the food was extremely well prepared very fresh vibrant flavors kitchen staff definitely knows what they're doing would highly recommend this place to others. read more

The two of us shared the braised brussels sprouts appetizer. For entrees we had the beef short ribs and the Mediterranean salad with salmon. We were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food served. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu items and made solid recommendations. Our server checked on us frequently but did not hover uncomfortably or seem to be hurrying us out. For the quality of the meal served I think the prices were appropriate. For desert we had the strawberry mascarpone and cafe affogato. Both fully consumed with joy. During our dinner a member of the management staff stop by our table and inquired about our experience and if we had any input to pass on. It is appreciated to see management present on the floor in a relaxed manner allowing their workers to carry out their duties. read more

Wish I could give negative or zero stars. Terrible. I've been here a few times but I will not be returning. One particular bartender, Katina, was extremely rude to my girlfriend and I, and other bar patrons mentioned how absolutely anti-social she was. She has the vibe of a belligerent barmaid and a bad attitude to match. And in high volume situations she gets really flustered, dismissive and rude. She consistently rolls her eyes and talks negatively about how the place is run, how little she gets paid, etc. We could hear the group next to us talking about how rude and negative she is. People don't go out with friends to be depressed by the bartender but she was awful and I will avoid at all costs. Never again. Moreover, I heard one of the managers use a shockingly racist word to describe people of color. On top of that the food is mediocre at best and the drinks were much too sweet. Avoid at all costs! Even with few alternatives around, anyplace in the area is a step above this restaurant! read more

Our server was very nice but the food here was not very good - no I see why others rated it low. Plus it was empty on a Saturday night which is not a good sign... I ordered their risotto - and probably for the first time in maybe forever - I sent my food back. The rice was raw, I kid you not AND the chicken was over cooked...yeah kind of crazy. They brought out something else for me but when the bill came they charged me for the risotto (which was $29) and not the new item which was less. I almost never nickel and dime restaurants but when they mess things up and don't make it right and add tip on top of it, not cool. Staying at the Mineral Hotel, this was the closest option for not leaving out into the cold weather. When we got to the restaurant, they sat everyone together even though the restaurant itself was very spacious. I decided to order a pomegranate Negroni, which taste like cheap alcohol and a splash of juice. Then I ordered their beyond burger, which wasn't that bad but too dry but the fries were tasty (but a little on the cold side). Also we got a salmon garden salad and when it came, the salmon was FRIED! I never saw such a thing. It was super salty and not good at all. I stayed at Crystal springs resort with my girlfriends and we had the misfortune of dining at Kites restaurant. I must say it was a complete disappointment. The Brussels sprouts were terrible and came with a weird orange sauce drizzled on top and the pizza was incredibly soggy- worse than frozen microwaveable pizza. To top it off, the majority of us ordered steak frites and none of our steak was cooked how we requested. Each one was overcooked and had a weird tomatoes sauce on top, making them completely unappetizing. The steak frites came with truffle fries, that didn't have a single taste of truffle... just have parmesan cheese heavily sprinkled on top. As for the drinks, the waitress (who was lovely) recommended the butterfly margarita and Sangria. While I couldn't sample the drinks because I was pregnant, the margarita was a weird purple color and my friends got served warmed sangria that they had to ask for a cup of ice. Overall, the experience was terrible, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was very expensive and the food was below average. This was the first time at this restaurant. We started with a cocktail at the bar. Yulia was a very special bartender. Not only did she customize my Cosmo but she was so warm and pleasant and paid attention to each persons request. We were then seated in the restaurant where Dorothy was so friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The waiters, Dennis and Dan were amazing making sure we were happy with our dinner selections. They continued to check on us always with a smile. The salmon was outstanding and my husband really enjoyed the ribs. Needless to say we loved the experience we had and will be back. read more

Okay people are haters. Is this a 5 star restaurant? Definitely not. But I must admit the service is great. Attentive staff and nice bartenders that add to a pleasant meal. I think other reviewers are just upset about the price, which 100% is not worth for what you pay. I had the penne with vodka sauce and added chicken ($36). The chicken felt and looked like those Tyson Chicken Strips not fresh chicken breast which is upsetting given the extra charge. I'm sure if they had descent pricing people wouldn't be as upset but given the quality for what you pay, I'd say for lunch and dinner go outside of the resort. read more

The food here was just okay. I feel like the negative reviews are blown out of proportion a bit though. The dinner, lunch and drinks are okay as well but definitely overpriced for what you get. The penne and chicken was $36 and you could tell that the chicken was frozen / not freshly cooked. For drinks, I recommend making your own cocktail as they are cheaper i.e. espresso martini was $13 vs. the $17 ones they present on the menu. The breakfast was solid - highly recommend the omelette bar. The saving grace of this place is the staff. They were wonderful (especially the breakfast hostess!!). read more

We are staying at the crystal lodge and wanted a change of scenery. The trio of fries was good, as well as my children's chocolate milkshake. The service was also very good, however, both of our main dishes were terrible. I had the penne al la vodka and the sauce was awful. It was not creamy and tasted like water downed tomato sauce. Our bachelorette party stopped here for lunch after our spa services. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the servers who asked how many people were in the party. We said ten and they seem somewhat bothered by this. Keep in mind there was no one there except the table on their way out. They sat us on the far right side. There were three of us who got there first and we ordered drinks almost immediately. It too approximately 10 minutes or more for our drinks to arrive. The bar service was absolutely pathetic. The fact that it took SO long for drinks anytime was ridiculous. There was seriously no one there. I would be more understanding if the place was busy and we were ordering insane drinks, BUT that was not the case. Our server was nice and was extremely efficient. She was able to answer any questions and quick to refill waters, etc. I thought the food menu was a good mix of things and their cocktail/drink list was good. I know it's a "resort" but the prices were a bit steep. The food came out hot and I enjoyed my ciabatta sandwich. However, I noticed I didn't get coleslaw with mine but the other person who ordered the same thing did. I loved the Parmesan truffle fries. The dipping sauce was okay. But they told us we arrived at restaurant in breakfast-lunch break time, so we couldn't get any food from them! Last day in the resort, after spa we were all tired and chose to give it another shot. The same thing unbelievably happened again ! Another host was talking on the phone and ignoring us standing in front of her!!! After waiting for a while, we were all seated and ordered food with drinks. Drinks came fast and was delicious. After sitting on the table for 20 mins, we had to ask the waitress for food again. 2 stars for the food and drinks. 0 star for the service there! THIS ESTABLISHMENT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS- You will be sorry if you don't listen! What an abysmal experience dining at Kites. My instincts within the first half hour were to leave but given I was in the great company of my best friends, it made more sense to hope for the best and stick it out. For starters, the waitress came up to us and said their credit card machines were down and we'd have to pay cash and use the ATM in the hotel. It was a bit abrupt and alarming the way she said it as if this was our problem and not her problem to deal with. The waitress was seemingly stressed out, as were all the surrounding tables. And it took 1 hour and 7 minutes to get a round of drinks. The confusing part was we had a view of the bar from our table and not once did it look busy enough to warrant this wait. If anything I questioned if the waitress was so inept she forgot to put the order in on time. I spoke kindly to the hostess during this wait and she was apologetic and said she'd get the manager. We noticed the manager during this wait who was sleezing his way around the restaurant, chatting it up with tables and totally unaware of his angry dining room, nor rolling up his sleeves to help his staff. Once the drinks arrived, my cosmo was sub par and I couldn't even finish it. Bartender clearly had no ability and I heard the table next to us sending back their drinks saying they were disgusting. After that, our food eventually made its way, and was palatable although not worth the extreme prices. We were also so hungry after waiting for hours that we were willing to eat almost anything at this point. Then we ordered dessert to surprise our friends whose bday it was and waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come back and say they didn't have chocolate cake. So now we ordered another dessert, another 20 min and now at this point the waitress hasn't come back to tell us that she doesn't have that either. At this point we've been here almost 3 hours, most patrons were gone, our friend was legit sleeping at the table (it was almost 11pm!) and we finally got a manager. He came over apologetically said he was taking off all the drinks and 30 percent of the check. The kicker is when I got the check, not only did he not take off the drinks or discount the food but the chocolate cake that never showed up was on it! We finally got him to take off some drinks, discount some food, and we were told the credit card machine was working again. Once we charged the card he said it couldn't print a receipt. Finally we left angry but at least feeling like we had gotten the proper compensation for this horrible experience and my friend checked her credit card online and he had charged us in full without the stated discounts. We tried to dispute the discount amount on the credit card that we were promised, but this vendor submitted a story of such detailed lies, that won the dispute and we had to pay in full. The most shocking part of it all was the dishonesty submitted to the credit card, they are clearly masters of handling disputes and acting in a fraudulent manner. This establishment should be shut down. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!! read more

Do not believe the bad reviews! I almost didn't come here because of them but still gave it a try. The restaurant is located in the Minerals Resort which also has bad reviews and I don't understand why. Beautiful resort and excellent restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was a bit stuffy and pretty ordinary. Sit outside for the views of the mountains. Everything I ate was amazing. I was surprised how unique the menu items were. They had more than just your typical burger. Prices are very reasonable. Calamari starter was flavorful, lightly fried and served with fried kale. Delicious. I had to try the Short Rib grilled cheese because SHORT RIB GRILLED CHEESE! How could you not order that?! They could improve on the service though. Our waitress was kind of rude and we felt rushed but I still had a good experience. Give Kites a try if you are in the area. You do not have to stay at the resort. read more

My husband and I stopped in after work just to have a drink and a appetizer, I had 2 sangria's at $16.00 a piece my husband had a beer $8.00 and we split an appetizer ( calamari ) was $19.00 it cost me 80 dollars with tip Way to expensive for me. I ate here for lunch the other day. I arrived here around 3 so the place was fairly empty with a few at the bar and one other table being served. I was seated promptly. I ordered the pork cuban sandwich. The sandwich arrived in a reasonable time with fries on the side. The sandwich was ok, not great not bad. The fries were seasoned well and crispy. The service was good, although the place was nearly empty. The manager came over to check on me and that was nice. My only problem was that it was a little pricey for its quality, but that's how it goes when you eat at the resort. If you are starving and don't want to travel and don't mind overpaying, then eat here. There are much better places to eat not far from the resort. We were hesitant to go to Kites for dinner after seeing all the negative reviews. We hadn't been here in a couple years so assumed it must've gone downhill.
