They get no stars. Food was so salty. If your not a local they act like you don't exist. Your not greeted and all the staff has the" your bothering me attitude. If your looking for a place to eat stay as far away as you can. They don't deserve your money and you will wish you went somewhere else! Had to give one star just to post. I would like to give them -2 stars.

I've been coming to this Hanover institution since the early 1980s…read more Food is fresh and good quality ingredients. Some classics have been on their menu for as long as I can remember, but there are always innovative new things as well. Portions are large. Servers are friendly. Desserts and other baked goods are incredible. It is the place to get the best custom-decorated birthday cakes and Thanksgiving pies (they made nearly 1000 pies last Thanksgiving - get your order in in advance). A carrot cake aficionado in our family who has tasted carrot cakes around the world ranks Lou's tied for number one. Prices aren't cheap, but rent in Hanover isn't cheap either, they take care of their employees, ingredients are of high-quality, and it is the kind of local business I like to support. For a hearty and healthy lunch, a bowl of their homemade chicken soup (available with or without noodles) hits the spot. For a delicious savory breakfast, Doc's omelette (corn beef hash and melted cheese is really good) as is the cowboy bowl. For a sweet breakfast (albeit more than I can handle), the glazed cruller French toast is a delicious menu staple. And their apple cider donuts, muffins and crullers are excellent. (The glazed apple cider donuts are my personal favorite). Real New Hampshire maple syrup is available for an upcharge and although I wish it were all they served, it is really the only way to go with their breakfasts. (Artificial pancake syrup is blasphemous in New Hampshire). Enjoy this Hanover institution!

Lou's is the best. It was the best when I went to school down the street, and it is still the best…read morenow. I've been at least 10x and it is always a treat. Not fancy - just comfortable and good. The setting is classic Hanover, and the staff are always super nice. Sure, you choose between the "house" syrup and real maple syrup, but all the usual breakfast staples are awesome here. I particularly enjoy the Lou's egg dishes, including their Benedict's. I had the 1st breakfast burrito of my life here back in the day 30 years ago. Love Lou's.
