    JLI Cabinetry - Nice

Giving this business even a 1 star review is being overly generous. Although his cabinetry work is…read moregood, DO NOT USE HIM FOR FLOORING AND TILE. He hires workers who have absolutely no clue what they are doing. They do not speak English, so it is impossible to communicate to them. They show up late smelling like smoke and alcohol. I paid several thousand dollars, (basically my entire savings account), to have tiling put in on the floor and bathroom. Here's just a sample of the mistakes they made: 1) The shower tile doesn't even cover the entire wall. 2) I provided not only a specific color of grout, but a very specific brand I wanted used. They didn't use the correct color and who know what brand they used, but it wasn't the one I chose. 3) There are both floor and shower tiles that don't even have grout. 4) The floor tile has multiple colors of grout. Well that's in the areas that actually were grouted. Some of the grout has actually crumbled while sweeping the floor. 5) The floor tiles are not spaced evenly some having large gaps and broken tile. 6) There's flooring in my bathroom that isn't even the tile I purchased. 7) The grout work is so sloppy that I find it everywhere. It's on the cabinets and walls. 8) They got paint on my brand new bathroom fixtures. 9) They offered to paint the tub for $200. Clearly they had no clue what they were doing. I guess they consider watching a You Tube video enough to master the skill. The tub paint has chipped, there's drip marks, and it has an alligator skin look to it because they didn't sand it before painting it. Now here we are with my checks cashed, my savings gone, my home looking horrid, and John is not responding to any communication to resolve the matter. All he said initially was "give them 1 more chance". This after I told him I do not want them anywhere near my home. I tried to come to some resolution that he hire people that know what they're doing to fix my home. But now he just ignores any communication. My advice, stay clear unless you want to throw your money out the window and then have to waste your valuable time going to court. You might get some decent cabinetry work at a lower cost, but is it really worth taking the chance? Even the person who recommended JLi Stone & Cabinets to me said she would never recommend him again. She has seen my home and is actually the one who picked up on all the mistakes he made. STAY CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS

We recently contracted Norfolk Kitchen & Bath to do a complete renovation of our master bathroom,…read moreand we could not be happier. From the initial design process with Danielle we felt at home with her guidance, and she made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. Danielle was extremely knowledgeable, and put us on the right path with regard to our budget, design expectations and really helping us to understand how the entire process works. Right from the beginning, we knew we had reached out to the right company. Then came the build process, in which we were fortunate enough to work with Steve Costa who not only juggled a third-floor walk-up, a building from the late 1800s, but also an extremely pregnant woman who was keen on getting this project off the ground and completed as quickly as possible. Steve led a fantastic group of NKB employees and subcontractors, but I would be remiss to not give a special shoutout to John and Mike who were our dream team carpenters, kitchen décor experts, and mental support during the project. Our dog clearly misses Steve, John and Mike as they became best friends it seems during the project. Additionally, Kelsea from the PMA team was a huge help in keeping the schedule/accounting on track for us. We were THRILLED with the final product (photos attached), and we are so very thankful for all of the hard work of the entire NKB team to bring our dream bathroom to life (before the baby, may I add)! If you are looking to have work done, look no further than NKB. We know that we will be using them in the future when needed, with no doubts about it.

Our design person was good; however, the installers were a problem. Completion took more than twice the time they estimated. Once completed, the electrical system would not function. We requested the issues be fixed so the kitchen could be functional, but Norfolk Kitchens refused. They acknowledged the electrical problems existed, but stated because they were not legally obligated to remedy their poor workmanship because it was "up to code". Apparently new electrical systems don't have to function properly to meet "code". In our instance, Norfolk Kitchens failed to do work to a standard that resulted in a workable kitchen. Very poor workmanship.

They painted over our brand new appliances, and had very limited respect for our home. They made very inappropriate jokes and conversations while I was working from home in the adjacent room, making me very uncomfortable in my own home. I would not recommend Modern Concepts, because Mike does not deliver what he promised in the finished product. His cost is much too high for what they can deliver upon.

He charges for luxury work and delivers far below what anyone can call luxury quality. He took twice as long has he said he would and my wife and I had to redo much of the finish work after he was gone. He constantly demands for more money and to be paid before our agreed upon progress payments. He spray painted our brand new appliances because he is sloppy and damaged our brand new wooden flooring. Bottom line we had to pay Mike at Modern concepts about $4,000 more than he quoted and he took twice as long and delivered a product that was not satisfactory. Plus during the whole process he was very unclear about payments and anything money related which makes him come across as untrustworthy. Save yourself time and money and do not go with modern concepts.
