Four Seasons of River City - Composite deck

Four Seasons completed construction on a sunroom to replace our old screened-in back porch back in…read moreNovember of last year. We've held off posting a review of the work because we wanted to see how things held up over time. Now the verdict is in. We had our porch screened-in about 15 years ago, but our backyard is steeply sloped and there were flooding problems from the beginning. Combine that with the nuclear fallout level pollen that we deal with in this part of the South, along with the extreme heat during the summer, and what you have is a great idea - a place to enjoy nature during - but only during a portion of the year. A sunroom was always a dream, but it seemed out of reach due to costs. We finally bit the bullet and went to see Ryan at Four Seasons after a home show display, and he came up with a way to make it workable for us. The weather last fall was about the worst possible for construction, so things took a little longer than expected, but Mickey, Josh, and their crews were efficient and professional and completed the work as quickly as possible. They kept us up to date on everything they were doing and made sure that if we had any concerns that they would be dealt with immediately as construction progressed. They were meticulous, making sure everything was done to plan and to spec, and had a good relationship with the inspectors to ensure that things moved along at a proper pace. The materials used were first rate, and after five months of use, it's safe to say they're going to hold up over the long term. There was an additional bonus - we had additional work done in the backyard with the construction of a new patio to deal with those long-standing flooding problems. They worked well with the outside contractor, and the two parties made sure that the side-by-side projects blended well together. The bottom line is that the sunroom is everything they said it would be. It has completely changed the feel of the house, giving us additional room when the grandkids come over. The patio furniture no longer turns bright green in the spring, the cats don't track all that pollen around the house, and the specially constructed and tinted glass keeps the sunroom from turning into a furnace during the heat of the day. It's turned into our favorite room and is used every day. It was money well spent.

Of the 3 screens installed, all at one time or another have failed to stay on track and have to stay in the up position. Totaled waste of $27k. Should have stuck to my guns with the wife and had a regular screened porch installed. Getting the company to respond to service calls is the other problem. Their response to problems is what did you do to cause the problem. Totally screwed. Don't do it to yourself, go with a regular screen porch. Don't talk yourself into the retractable screens like I did.

Had a leak in roof. I called Mario and he came out to look at it. I was rest assured that he could…read morerepair it and would undoubtedly guarantee his work. I also brought up that I needed a pocket door installed, which I already had purchased, and he said that he had experience doing that and could do that as well. I agreed to pay him cash only for the job. More than what the job was worth, but I needed it done and done correctly which he assured me that it would be no problem. The job was scheduled and he mentioned that he'd have two crews showing up. Not sure how many is in a crew, but okay? They showed up on the scheduled day. He had them on the roof in no time. After assessing the situation, he asked if I could go to town to pick up some plywood for the crew! I happen to have some extra laying around and they were able to use it as I only own a car and not a truck. I'd have no way of picking sheets of plywood up! For the money I was paying, I was very surprised that I had to supply material at all for the roof! They were done on the roof in a couple of hours at most and then were able to focus on the pocket door. It shouldn't have taken more than 2 people to install a simple pocket door, but 3-4 of them approached the job scratching their heads at first with maybe one of them being somewhat familiar with what had to be done. I really wasn't sure as they weren't speaking English. I was just going by expressions and gestures. Besides the 3-4 of them, there were a few others just hanging out in my bedroom. One of them, I think Mario, brought their 9yr old son who now after about 3hours into the job was bored silly. He and and another were just playing in my bedroom while the few others were scratching their heads figuring it out as they went as a couple of others waited outside playing with their phones. Quite a few on my payroll to just be standing around doing nothing. I did have to run to the store to pick up more supplies needed for the door. I didn't mind that so much as I agreed to supply the necessary supplies for the door to be installed. They put a big hole on the opposite side of the wall of the pocket door. Luckily for me, and them, I know drywall repair and taping which was no big deal for me to fix. When all was said and done, I paid the excessive price, as I was assured again the guarantee that the roof repair would be good and that he'd come back if not. Now a few months later, I have water coming in the same area as before. As we've been in a drought since and have had rain recently I've texted several times with no replies. Total scam artist. I ultimately called and the phone was disconnected. Buyer beware. If there were negative stars, I'd be giving them. This outfit gives a bad name to those honest hard working and knowledgeable workers out there who stand behind their work.
