I have been meaning to write a review for Alan for a month now. He came out when we were trying to complete a list for a home inspection when selling our house in Alpharetta. He is very straightforward and thorough in his work. He is able to provide honest and reliable opinions of the work that needs to be done to get the job done correctly. He even took pictures of his work and home inspection corrections that he made to provide as supporting documents to attach to the invoice to provide for the closing process for the house. It is really difficult to find someone as professional in this industry who will provide honest, quality work at such a reasonable price. I really wish we had found All Task Pro when we were doing all of the remodeling when we first bought the house. I am a recently separated, single mother & the transition from having a "husband" around the house is a bit of an adjustment. One of the main ways this can hit you is when it's time for something to be done around the house and it's something you need a "man" to do but alas, there isn't one there. Well, I figured a handy man would to the trick. But you know how that goes! Is he going to over charge me? Is his work going to be shoddy? But I was also worried: Do I have to deal with a weirdo & be scared he's going to come back in the night? So my adventure begins. Just a few things, I thought maybe they might have been to minor but nope.No task was to small. I found that the professional at alltaskpro was just that: professional. He was polite, genuine and attentive to the things that needed to be addressed around the house. He had to move a washing machine from the second floor down & move another one back up. And he did it without a scratch to my walls! When the washer I moved in didn't work, he came back and swapped it out for another working washer that I had. IF I'VE TOLD YOU ONCE I'VE TOLD YOU A THOUSAND TIMES: THAT INITIAL CONTACT AND HOW YOU ARE TREATED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROCESS IS AN INDICATION OF HOW YOU WILL BE TREATED THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS SO CHOOSE WISELY! So here's the deal: I have had this business bookmarked for a while but today I decided to follow up and contact Alan regarding some work that I need to have done. I sent him a message through his website and he responded with a message stating my phone was disconnected and asking if I could send him a number that "actually works". So yes, that was a jerk move, but I stepped back and took a deep breath because my "Mad Madelyn" reaction would be to simply delete and forget because I have zero tolerance for jerks and disrespect. My phone was actually fine because I had my husband call it with no problem and the fact that I was able to receive his message also indicated that there was no problem with the phone. I think that Alan simply misdialed the number, became frustrated and did the equivalent of a drunk tweet. At the time that I received his message, I was waiting to have a meeting with a supplier and messaged that I would call when finished. In the meantime, I decide that I want to just go ahead and have a conversation to see if he is really a jerk or just having a bad day. I then decide to step outside to place the call but realize that his message is weird because it has no business name and no phone number attached and it seems to be from a phone that only makes out-going calls and cannot receive messages or calls. I request that he call me since I cannot contact him and I am away from my computer. So later in the evening, I realize that there is simply no conversation to be had here because there is just no way I can have that type of negative energy around me. Know your triggers! If you want to work for me, you had better come with a personality, manners and professionalism or all bets are off. Even with negative reviews, I am willing to give businesses the benefit of the doubt as I did in this case. However, as an active Yelper, I also feel a responsibility to share my experiences and impressions so that others will have a complete picture as they make their decisions. Choose wisely! ***Contractors, if you show that you are incapable of handling a simple phone call with decorum, customers are unlikely to trust you with bigger tasks such as the complete renovation of their baths and kitchen. Also, realize the serious consequences your behavior has when it affects the team that you work with and their ability to generate additional income from new and subsequent jobs due to "word of mouth". Everyone has a bad day, but it should never interfere with your ability to keep a cool head and remain professional. 2/14/18 Alan, I remember the call differently but I no longer have the record. I can't imagine getting that annoyed over a polite request for my number otherwise that would make me the jerk. Super flaky. Clearly Allen doesn't need my business. I called him with the proposal of building two wing walls in my living room; told me he'd do it & to text him my info & he'd get back to me...never heard back. A couple weeks went by & I asked him whether he was interested in the project or not & he replied saying that he had forwarded my request to a carpenter he worked with & that he'd be able to to meet with me this week. I told him I was available & again, never heard back. Quite a misfortune for him in the long run...I have thousands of dollars worth of projects I need done. read more

Alan has now done several projects for us. He did our son's bathroom, including the surround tiling and floor tile. He laid hardwood in our entire upstairs (four bedrooms, closets, and hallway). He installed a gas line to my new grill. And now, for the coup de grace, he is redoing our entire kitchen. I just had Alan work on my deck. He did a horrible job paying attention to detailed. Another greedy dishonest handyman. Wanted to be paid for unfinished project, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him what he asked. But he turns around and try to nickel and dime me for his horrible work and painting job. Tried to make it my fault that he didn't do a good job of listening. If I can go around show him all his faulty work then nicked and dimed him for it. I wonder how he would feel. Lots of loose railings that weren't addressed when asked. He really thought he did a good job. If my wife had to tell u that u missed a spot u painted or the railings are uneven. It means u did not pay attention to detail. Only fault I take is hiring another bad and dishonest person. Please don't pay him until he finish his job. If u hire him? If u want to see his work? We worked with Alan to redo our master bathroom shower, after a botched installation from another contractor. Alan was a true pleasure to work with - he showed up when he said he was going to and he let us know when he when he couldn't make it as scheduled. In addition to being responsible and a good communicator, Alan does quality work. Our new tile installation looks great - the way it should have looked the first time. This time, our shower has nice and even tile lines, no grout on the mosaic, and nice details such as the framing around the shower niche. It is hard to find someone who takes pride in his/her work, but it is easy to see that Alan has that quality.
