Kitchen has it changing from left-right to front-back in the middle of the counter. All four of the bathroom vanities run in different directions and the backsplashes do not match the vanity tops. One side runs the same the other is turned 90 degrees. They never gave us a layout. The stone wasn't sealed so water marks showed everywhere until we sealed it ourselves. There are tape marks on the kitchen surface. They sent three people with bottle of Bar Keepers Friend to fix it. Didn't work, still have tape marks. What a mess they made of some beautiful and expensive quartzite stone.

However, I reached out to them because they were one of the only places in possession of a specific material I discovered and badly wanted (which is discontinued and in short shrift) for a long-awaited counter replacement. A representative contacted me to inform me that they only installed in their state (which is to be expected for these services). However, the rep also located a similar business very close to where I live, a business that carries this line of products, and explained they might have the product. I spent a lot of time looking for this brand near me, and didn't find this business- which is why I was emailing SC from NYS. I never would have found it on my own (I am a relentless searcher and hadn't), and they didn't have to take time out to help out someone who can't use their services. But they did. This is a long review for a relatively to-the-side-of-the-point anecdote, but it's the kind of anecdote I'd like to know when deciding who to let touch my modest but well-loved house. I was very, very thankful for the lead on this thing I want so badly. Thanks, Solid Surfaces :)

Don't hire Lifetime Cabinets and Countertops unless you want to risk them ruining your floor and…read moredenying any responsibility. They do not take care of their clients. During the disconnect of my faucet for the granite installation, their guys somehow managed to flood my cabinet with water, which lead down to my subfloor and crawl space. Now, my 2 week old hardwood floors are buckling. I was not aware of the huge amount of water that was released into my crawl space until a full 24 hours later, when I found a fully soaked towel sitting on my wet cabinet floor. You would think that would be something worth mentioning to the owners. Rather, besides them asking my teenage daughter for a towel, we were not spoken to at all about it.  On top of having my brand new hardwoods ruined, the experience I had with the owner, Marcus, over the phone was astonishing. He interrupted, yelled, and belittled my needs about the follow up things I had asked for (before I was aware of the damage). He was very rude and did not display any care about the damage; instead claimed repeatedly that his company isn't responsible. Marcus told me to call my insurance company, that he was done dealing with me, and he would deal with the insurance company. I got the feeling he has reeled off this same spiel to previous clients. His employees are careless, and Marcus will refuse to claim any responsibility for any bad occurrences.

She guided us through the whole process and whittled down the number of selections I had to make. I think the only thing I did entirely on my own was pick the paint color! And the installation team -- Jeff and Donnie -- were incredible. Jeff also made some great recommendations which improved the functionality of the bathroom considerably. A project that can be full of hassles turned out to be really easy. The finished bathroom is beautiful and functional.
