I wanted to like this place......I truly did. I found it on-line and wanted my wife to be happy, and at first it seemed like it would be very good.
First, the view is pretty darn good - overview of the airport from the 12th floor. The decor is also interesting - they even had a lamp dressed like a woman. At first glance it was great.
Then I ordered a bottle of Sancerre - the third most expensive bottle on their limited wine list. Our server proceeded to bring us a bottle of Pinot Grigio....not exactly right. And - she had already opened it. When I pointed out her mistake she said she was sorry and brought us the correct bottle. As she served it she said "you know this is Sweden, correct?" ..... not knowing what that meant (I still really don't) I just smiled and said yes. Guess I am just a dumb American.
The Sancerre was excellent, and all seemed well. I had ordered Pea Soup and both of us had ordered steaks, so we were looking forward to it...and looking forward to it.....and looking forward to it....
After about 25 minutes we finally got my pea soup, and it was truly excellent. Which was a good thing, because that was it.
We waited...
And waited....
And waited....
And waited.
My wife finally couldn't take it any more, especially when's the third couple that came in after us completed their dinner, so she got up and asked the waitress (who had not even spoken to us in about 30 minutes) when we might get our steaks. She said "in 2 minutes".... and then proceeded to tell no one, to go several other tables, and generally ignore us.
So we waited about 10 more minutes...and then got up and told them we were leaving and demanded our bill. Our waitress was of course nowhere to be found, and the young lady at the reception desk that we told this to did a very good job of trying to solve the problem, looked up our table and brought us our bill for the Sancerre and soup....and two Carlsbergs.....funny, the table right next to us, who seemed to be friends with our lovely waitress, received two Carlbergs during our long, long wait......
We demanded that they remove the Carlsbergs, paid what we owed (no tip of course), and left.
I would really like to say we liked this place, but of course I cannot. I guess we were just in Sweden, after all.....but that is no excuse for lousy service and a very bad waitress. And we love Sweden, so that was no fun!
If you decide to go there try to avoid the older waitress unless you speak Swedish. Or better yet - maybe don't go there at all.
