I just happen to find him doing a search for an upgrade to my kitchen and boy I was not disappointed. The price for new countertops, sink and faucet was very reasonable and the work they did was great!!! Rob and his teams attention to detail and making sure everything was working properly was exactly the kind of people I was looking for!! I would recommend him to anyone. On another note, I had a washer and dryer hook up installed on my 2nd floor apartment he didn't do that work but I asked him if he could help bring my washer and dryer upstairs for me as I am disabled, him and his son were more than happy to help. I knew Rob from a company we both use to work for! so I gave him a chance and he hacked up my drywall. he will tell you whatever you want until he gets into the job! don't pay him anything up front if you do use him! every chance he gets he tries to take shortcuts. he also wrecked my 1200 door from not covering it before it sprayed primer to hide the tape that he didn't mud. stay away read more

Rob and his team did a phenomenal job on our kitchen. He ALWAYS showed up when he said he would (almost to the minute!) and finished our job in a timely manner. (This was very important to us because we have been left hanging by contractors before.) There was never a time when I felt Rob would not do what needed to be done because it 'wasn't my job'. He always had an solution/option when any problems came to light (our house's issues - not his). Rob did whatever he could to provide us with top notch craftsmanship. When we would tend towards 'that's ok - we don't really mind if (whatever) isn't perfect', Rob would say that HE minded and wanted to make things perfect for us. Kitchen Mania does amazing work! Rob the Owner goes above and beyond what is expected for his Clients. I just read a review trashing him, his business and his character. This is shameful. You will see pictures of the amazing work on yelp very shortly. In fact the custom built library has had almost 1 million views, over 35,000 times it has been shared and saved to viewers personal pages more than 330,000 times. And a gorgeous kitchen remodel was done and 3 gorgeous bathroom remodels. I didn't hear these major projects even mentioned by the home owner as to howgreat they came out... This is a business that supports him, his family and his worker's families. People should not be writing misleading reviews in spite. It was written by a home Owner that not only got more than what they paid for, but was given exceptional treatment. Multiple problems arise, as what sometimes happens with a home purchase. In the very beginning of the project an electrical problem arose that needed to be rectified because a situation arose with the children doing something dangerous involving electrical. Issue was addressed immediately. A bathroom was found to have leak in the wall that was happening for quite some time that the home owner was not aware of. Plumbing and reconstruction of the bathroom was bumped up to be the first project. No problem. Pivoted to the most important issues! The original wish list that came in was for over $150K, but was widdled-down to accommodate the home owners priorities and true budget. A finished basement did not make the home owner's contract to be worked on, so that's neither here nor there. Homeowner often changed her mind of what she wanted done and change orders were put in place to accommodate. Ex: changed from wanting flooring in the custom built library room to keeping the carpet. Change was agreed upon that since flooring was paid for, ordered and received already, the entire main floor would be painted, custom shiplap put in the kitchen and removal of wall paper be done. The flooring that was partially installed in the kitchen and ended up being defective so it was replaced for new product and installed at additional labor costs to the contractor, not the customer, as it should be. Not the customer's fault so they should not have to pay. Problems arose when using the only available electrical contractor for this project timeline. Additional electrical work was requested by the home owner After the contract was written. This additional work was agreed upon by the home owner that they would pay for this extra, uncontracted work directly. Problems definitely came up with the electrical contractor and a demand to reduce the bill for their mistakes was agreed upon. Rob took a majority of the discount that was for the work he had contacted for and took this credit amount off of the home owner's final bill for all work rendered. Home owner now had to pay less for their side electrical work she asked for separately. The koi pond was offered to be filled in for free (this included 2 days of equipment rental and laborers) and the home owner knew that Loam would need to be purchased and delivered to level off the yard. The awful review this home owner wrote is full of fabrications. She was constantly changing her mind and forgetting what she wanted because she changed her mind so often. She had multiple meltdowns and must have thought her contractor was here to be her personal therapist. Rob answered her text messages, calls and emails immediately. Even if he was mid-sentence in a conversation or eating dinner. She paid the final bill then sent an email demanding a refund within days for an estimated amount (this was actually written out down to the penny) and then gave a deadline for a refund by a few days from the email, or she was taking him to court. She asked for a refund on items that were agreed upon in changes and threatened taking Rob to court. Please be mindful that there are two sides to every story when reading her review. There are truly bad contractors out there but these beautiful home renovation are not one of them. Contractors beware if you are asked to work for this person, because it's going to end up be a headache and a mess for you. read more

I have been window shopping for creating a new look for my kitchen, but I have been priced out of my budget until now. I am thoroughly impressed with the cabinet quality, and I didn't feel overwhelmed because there were waaaaay to many choices for me to look through. Plenty of choices, but not an overwhelming amount of them. The last place I went into had so many things to try to choose from I felt like I didn't know what I was doing. Thank you Rob for letting me know that you can design my kitchen within my budget and customize how the layout is according to how I use my kitchen! I didn't even think of that. Our ordeal began when I let our real estate agent convince us that Robert Sirois of Kitchen Mania was a good person. My husband and I purchased a house that needed to be updated, but most importantly, we needed to remove the koi pond in the backyard, and fence in the backyard because we have twin boys with autism, and they don't recognize danger. When we first spoke with Robert, he said he could ABSOLUTELY do all the renovations we were requesting, including finishing the basement so the boys could have a quiet place to relax. When he sent us the quote, it was $40k over what we had discussed. Among other things, we had to give up the finished basement. When he gave us the contract, he asked us for almost $57k as a deposit (which was more than half of the total project), he said this was due to the cost of materials. I notice he didn't list the removal of the koi pond in the contract, and he told me it was because he was going to remove it for free. This was the first red flag, but we were in the process of selling and buying a house, and dealing with two autistic children who don't take well to changes. So, we didn't question it. The first week at the job, he gave us a change order of almost $9k. for items that were in the original quote, I couldn't find my copy of the contract, but I did have a copy of the email he sent us with the original quote, and I was able to dispute the items he had on the change order. So he gave us a different change order, in this one, he stated that he had not quoted us for removing the closet between the two walls he was taking down to open up the main floor (can you believe that?, he was just going to leave a free-standing closet in the middle of the first floor) he also said he hadn't quoted us for replacing the rugs in the living room and dining room with the same laminate flooring we requested for the kitchen (even though we had already discussed this with him). He also said we had to purchase all the mirrors, light fixtures, faucets, and shower/bathtub plumbing fixtures because this was not in the contract. We knew he was lying but we felt trapped because he had more than half our money. So we paid up. Throughout the entire project, he kept complaining about money. He said he didn't have enough money to pay his crew so a lot of the days he would show up with only his 16-year-old son. Every time I complain about how long it was taking him to finish the job, he would tell me if I gave him more money, he could have a full crew at the house. Twice he asked us for more money, twice we gave him more money. For a couple of days, he would show up with a full crew and slowly dwindle down to just him and his son. Eventually, when I had a melt-down because it was November and he hadn't removed the koi pond, he came in begrudgingly on a weekend and "remove " the koi pond, but left us with a mess of jagged rocks & pieces of the pond liner protruding from the ground. He told us that was all he was doing because he was doing it for free. Now we have to pay over $2K to have that mess repaired by a landscaper. we removed some of the items on our list so the job would be finished faster, and he kept quoting how much money we would save. "you'll save $750 if you don't install the cabinet in between the two posts in the kitchen, you will save $750 if you don't remove the arch in the entryway from the kitchen to the library, you will save $750 if you don't install the glass enclosure in the master bathtub". I guess $750 was his number. Eventually, I found the contract and pointed out that the mirrors, light fixtures, and faucets were quoted in the contract, and he said he would deduct those items from our total. At the end of the job, he said he would take care of our share of the electrical work instead of giving us a refund. Our portion of the electrical work was almost $5k, and even though we thought he would owe us more than that for the projects we removed, we agreed because we just wanted to be done. He picked up the final check on a Monday, he said he had a meeting with the electrician to discuss the bill that Friday, and he would call us on Friday to give us an update on the discussion. On Friday, he didn't call, so I called him, His answer was "I paid my share of the bill; you have to pay yours." I was dumbfounded when the conversation ended. A few days later I emailed him requesting a refund for all the work he had not done, and for all the items we had purchased, and his answer was "Go ahead and sue me, I will counter sue you." In the end, my husband convinced me to let it go, so we could finally settle into our new house and focus on our boys. Bad things happen in life, bad people exist, and we can't do anything about that, however, we can do something about the way we react to those bad things/people, I would not feel right if I let him do this to another person/family. This is the reason for my review. I hope this review saves someone a major headache. read more
