i stopped by this afternoon and tried the sausage, egg, and cheese on kitanda bread as well as a vanilla iced latte. both were pretty good! iced latte was not too sweet as requested, and my bread came out nice and toasty, so the cheese was melty. i wouldn't say there's anything super spectacular, but nice for a quick bite and drink. i do want to try their acai bowls, but they are a little pricier.

I feel like I'm on a tour of all the Kitandas in Seattle! Today I landed at the store here and was greeted by the friendly team here and loved the Christmas tree and got my favorite the Romeo And Juliet sandwich and the Açaí Super Hero which has been my go to this last year. The vibe in the story was holiday themed and look forward to coming back soon!

They also have small baguette sandwiches that I'd like to try next time. There was tons of traffic on a weekday morning. Overall a small space with a few small tables inside and an outdoor patio with more tables which will be lovely as the weather gets warmer, but we were able to grab a table. Great place for catching up with someone.

The pastries are absurdly good, the coffee is perfect, and somehow every visit feels like stumbling into a tiny Parisian café tucked away on a side street in Saint-Germain. Honestly, this would hold its own in Paris... and might still crack a top-10 list. But the real reason for this review: THEY BROUGHT BACK THE BLUE OF LONDON. Our family's favorite pastry addiction has officially returned, and if you know, you KNOW. The kind of pastry that causes "we'll just stop in for coffee" to somehow become a weekly ritual. Flaky, rich, dangerously good, and worth planning your morning around. Seattle has great bakeries. Mercer Island has a gem. France would approve.

I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.

This was on a Sunday afternoon close to 5pm, and there were still so many people occupying nearly every seat inside. I did come back to try their matcha matcha drink only to find it gone from their current menu as of May 2026. Instead, their turon matcha immediately caught my eye, as it has banana and I've been obsessed with banana-flavored toppings and puree on my matcha lately. It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. Even if it isn't on the top of that list, their drinks are still 5+ star quality.
