The nurse practitioner I saw for my annual exam was great--I felt very comfortable talking about my health with her. It's also clear as you look around the office that they are very dedicated to inclusivity (from things they have posted to handouts) which also made me more comfortable. I set up an appointment at 8:45am on 4/22 called at this location, someone answered they had us set for 4/25. We even received a call back from them on Monday the day before the appointment to see if they would take the insurance. When we arrived at the place they had us waiting here for more than 5 hours. And for some reason they magically didn't have an appointment set by us. Crazy how nobody spoke up to say they we didn't have an appointment set. We sat here like a bunch of dummies waiting for what. We finally asked again and they told us no you don't have an appointment. So honestly there are getting one star for not speaking up. Do the job your here for or just quit simple as that !!!!!!

She just assumed I didn't. But what's the point of having a doctor who doesn't listen anyway? I switched to Planned Parenthood and never looked back. They listen, understand, and never judge. Besides, her waiting room is some sort of unfortunate art and jewelry shop...I think it's tacky. You might like her if you have a judgy mom who doesn't trust you and want to be reminded of that. I don't have that kind of mom, so it seems very strange to have someone talk down to me like that.

Update: This man…read moredoes not care one bit about his patients, I was newly pregnant when I came to him, I didn't know that obs are supposed to offer genetic testing and advise about certain things they see at the ultrasound. At my last visit with him I was already 12/13 weeks pregnant and he told us everything in the ultrasound was great!! We were all very new to this but were so very excited!....By the time I found another practice (Dr. Buxo was not going to renew his ob license) and got the 20 week ultrasound We were told that the fetus had a severe genetic anomaly, so severe that he was incompatible with life, and it was clearly present in the ultrasound and then confirmed with a genetic test, the whole experience was extremely difficult for us. When were compared all the ultrasound pictures, you could definitely see something wrong in the one that buxo took. Long story short, this man shouldn't be allowed to practice anymore, he clearly has no respect for his job, nor for his patients, he just wanted to charge for his services and leave us to find out later, with another provider. His cruelty is just too much, I am embarrassed I had given him 5 stars when I went, if only I had known what type of person he was. I would never ever step foot in his practice again. PS when I switched providers and they asked me who tended to me last and I said Buxo, they replied ... "That guy does not like women, he treats them badly"

The office is warm and inviting, not like a normal gyno office at all! I love how they spend more time with me and were able to get to know me. Feels good to be a person and not just a number. It's now a week later and not a peep from them so here we go leaving a PUBLIC review: I have been a very loyal customer to Physicians and Midwives for about 8-10 years now. Unfortunately I have not had great experiences over the last three or four years. I had my first IUD inserted around 2017 which worked out great. Five years go by and it was time for a replacement. After about a year I informed my GP that I am still having periods at age 53 which she immediately ordered a sonogram to find out what's going on in there. The sonogram showed that my IUD was positioned 'unusually low' and had to be removed. At that point it was questionable if I should replace the IUD or leave it out since I was so close to menopause. A blood test was ordered and it was determined that my chances of getting pregnant was very low. However, I continued to have menstrual cycles every month for over a year. Concerned I returned to P&W to have another IUD put in. It was also recommended that the insertion include a "guided ultrasound" to ensure placement was correct. Note: The ultrasound was not covered by my insurance company but I gladly paid the $348.76 bill so I can rest assured the IUD would be placed properly. A few weeks later I returned for my follow up visit to find out the IUD was coming out and, for the second time, had to be removed due to poor placement. At the time of my follow up no one in this office could answer any of my questions about why any of this was happening to me - why I'm still cycling at age 55, why the IUD can't seem to get placed properly, or what other options I had for proper IUD placement. I was only offered sketchy answers and hormonal birth control which is exactly what I was trying to get off of 8-10 years ago when I had my first IUD inserted. Hormonal birth control was causing other side effects that I wanted to avoid and I am absolutely opposed to getting back on them. I don't understand why this office of highly experience professionals can't seem to insert the IUD properly even with the guided sonogram. I don't understand why I paid $348.72 for an IUD that only lasted a few weeks or why I should even return or recommend this office to others. I am completely dissatisfied and would like to, at the very least, have my money refunded to me but i doubt that's going to happen since they won't even respond to me. Very disappointed with my experience here and will not be returning.
