The pasta was denser than expected, not overly covered in heavy sauce you would get in the States. Portions were just right for a light meal that came with bread. Had my first aperole spritz. It was refreshing and delicious. I could really taste the alcohol in it. Got the margherita pizza and it was delicious. Crust was crispy and cooked perfectly. The cheese and tomato sauce was great. Boyfriend got the fungi. It was good and had a lot of mushrooms which I don't care for so liked the margherita better but if you like mushrooms this would be an excellent choice. Service was great and friendly. read more

The food at this restaurant was amazing!! We sat next to a lovely couple who had said they ate there several times on their vacation in Pisa. we were just dropping by for a day trip and it was a warm summer day but this was perfect walking distance from the leaning tower of Pisa with quick and amazing service we were able to get in and out of there to continue our adventures. Delicious food! We ordered a pizza napoli and a pizza deliziosa. The chef is easy with the heavy ingredients and generous with the light ingredients, creating pizzas that are full of flavor without being too heavy. The waiters were kind and informative! We were seated outside in the rain under very effective rain awnings which kept us dry while allowing us to take in the view of the tower. If you want authentic pizza, skip the restaurants located right next to the Duomo and take the short walk over to Kistè. I promise it's worth it! read more

This is the place to go while visiting the Tower in Pisa. The food is amazing and the service is perfect. The neighboring restaurant is competing with them by trying to imitate them. So when walking away from the Tower choose the second restaurant on the left. Comfortable street tables with a view of the tower peeking over the wall. We had a two hour wait for our turn up the tower and we ate an early lunch. This location is near the tower just outside the gates about 100 yards. We were greeted by what I think was the owner. Promptly sat us and gave us menus. Offered the wifi access before talking our order. Previous reviewer mentioned the slow wifi, we did not experience that issue. We had a simple lunch of a couple pizzas. They were very tasty with a good thin crust. There is outside seating as well. The weather during our visit was a little damp. It's worth a try. The food is really tasty and moderately priced, the service however isn't great at all. It took 10 minutes for us to be seated (when there weren't many people in the restaurant), and when we were seated, the waitress only gave us one menu so we had to get up and get more. After we'd quickly decided what to order and closed our menus, it took 20 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. Our food took a long time and really wasn't worth the wait. They advertise their wi-fi, but it is extremely slow and almost unusable. There were many things this restaurant could've done better, but overall, it was a nice little restaurant to find in Pisa. Not a big fan of calzones but the Vesuvio was decent. It's a very large calzone the size of a regular pizza that's topped with tomato sauce to give it the appearance of a volcano-hence the name. They have a large selection of pastas and pizzas. I tried a little bit of the papardelle ai porcini e tortufa (truffle pasta with mushrooms) my parents shared and it was so good that my family ordered a second one to go. There's virtually no air conditioning inside like the hostess promised since the door is wide open which is why I'm giving a 4 instead of 5. However, the staff is passionate about giving a good customer experience and great food, especially to tourists. They are so confident about their food that you won't have to pay if you don't like it. After sightseeing, we were looking for something quick and delicious. We found it here just outside the famous landmark. Outdoor seating is recommended if there is availability. The pizza is thin, light, gooey, and overall delicious. The service is quick and friendly, and most importantly the prices are reasonable. After reading other reviews, we decided to stop by real quick before going to the tower because my son wanted to have pizza at (the leaning tower of) Pisa. Staff was very friendly. She got us a seat, got our orders and called my son so he can watch his pizza being made. He wasn't invited to "help make his own" like the other reviewer said, but he enjoyed it. The chef's specialty - a sea bass salad- was a welcome change from pasta and pizza. It was baked in rock salt and drizzled with sauce. The pizza came out a little bit runny - maybe because we told them we were in a hurry, but it still tasted great! Head of warning, personal pizzas here are the size of a normal medium in our area (Philly). It can easily feed the three of us. So our technic even when we were at Rome is to order a pizza and another specialty or two so we can all have a taste. Don't want to have leftovers from 2-3 kinds of pizza, lol. read more
