I have always had dark/dull/discolored lips, which was the reason I started wearing lipstick. I love that lipsticks can give you not only color, but make them look a bit fuller as well. But as you know-- lipstick can come off while you are eating & may need application, it takes time to put them on, and obviously having to spend $ on it as well. I found Kim through my friend. At first, I was hesitant about the idea of lip tint because of the thought of a needle going on my lips.. but I am so glad I decided to move forward with it. I am very big on energy and immediately the first time I met Kim, I felt good energy. It felt like I was talking to one of my girlfriends. She thoroughly explained the process, checked-in with me during the process, made me feel comfortable, and provided instructions for aftercare. Pain: it was probably at a level 4 for me. I have tattoos so process was bearable. She uses numbing cream and will reapply! Time: the first session will take 4 hours and half the time for your touch-up. She is a perfectionist-- do not expect good results in quick time :) Results: There will be swelling the day after, but it'll go down by the day after. My lips have healed and I love that I have color on my lips! I literally wake up and go, and not care if I have make-up on or not! Advice: please don't be a horrible rebel like me and follow all of her instructions such as not having alcohol or caffeine the week prior to procedure. It'll cause bleeding and more pain. I'm not the kind of person to write reviews all the time but I'm writing this because Kim is so good at what she does. She's so sweet while having a no BS kind of attitude. She communicates with you every step of the way, outlines the procedures, and makes sure you are well-informed. I went to her 3 times; once for lip blush, again for hyaluron fillers, and one more time for my lip blush touch up. Professionalism: She's professional on so many levels. She has you sign waivers, gives you aftercare instructions, has a scheduling system that alerts you of your appointments, and makes sure you know her tools are sanitized and sterilized after every session. Lip blush experience: Kim makes sure you're comfortable and fully numb before she starts. She also makes sure the numbing cream hasn't gone away mid procedure and will reapply as needed. Before Kim, I had been eyeing to get my lips done but ever since I had a poor experience with my ombré brow procedure, I was skeptical on who was going to come near my face with a needle again. Kim understood my vision as I kept sending her samples and she knew I wanted that "just bit a popsicle" look. Pain was moderate. If you've gotten tattoos before, you know the initial outlining is always the worst part but lucky for you, that's when the numbing cream is at its maximum strength. The initial appointment took roughly 3 hours and the touch up was much easier, way less painful, and was around 1 hour or so. Hyaluron fillers: Compared to the lip blush, this was nearly painless! The sound is kind of scary but I barely felt anything. It sounds a lot worse than it is. What helped me is when Kim offered to count down before she injected the hyaluronic acid. It's been a few months or so and my lips are still plump! Aftercare: If there's anything you can take away from her aftercare instructions, it's DRINK FROM A STRAW, EAT WITH A FORK, & ALWAYS MOISTURIZE YOUR LIPS. I use the NOONI apple butter lip mask but you can use the lanaige one too. However, purchase the aquaphor lip repair NOW. It's truly a life saver. And wait a week after the procedure to use a lip scrub because you'll need it. Trustttt. The lips heal fairly quickly and remember to be patient because the true color doesn't come out until a couple weeks after your procedure. Scheduling: She's also super flexible with scheduling. I had a lot going on so I had to reschedule a few times but Kim was very understanding and accommodating (You're the best, Kim!) If you're hesitant, don't! First lip blush was 2020 and for 2 years I didn't wear any lipstick only lip gloss and Vaseline. I came to Kim because of my uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation on my face due to breakouts. So me and my bestie decided to do Microneedling with her. It was the first time for the both of us but Kim was very informative by telling us instructions about the days before and after Microneedling. Before performing the procedure I am glad that she numb us with 10% numbing cream instead of the usual 5% that other aesthetician use. Because of that it was not painful at all. The whole process was fast and efficient and she put on a cooling mask after. After 3 times of Microneedling about 1 month apart, I definitely notice a big difference to my skin. If you're looking for a sign to get your lips done, HERE IT IS !! I have always been a little insecure about my lips as the discoloration made my lips seem smaller and less full. As someone who fears needles and has never had a tattoo before, I can honestly say the anticipation was worse than the pain. Kim was absolutely amazing (and she's been certified 6 times!!) Before my appointment, she sent two appointment reminders as well tips for pre-care. On the day of, the beginning of the session consists of the consultation portion where color, shape, and other requests are discussed before the outlining of the lips. I also brought in a favorite lipstick color of mine to help mix/match/make a similar shade that fits with my skin tone. After the shape is approved, TWO types of numbing gels are applied before the procedure begins for maximum comfort. Post-procedure, for best results, I was told to (1) not pick on the scabbing skin - it can ruin the pigmentation, (2) keep your lips moisturized at all times (Kim even provided me with some ointment), (3) avoid sun and sweating - can also effect pigmentation, (4) use a straw/avoid spicy, greasy, oily, and salty foods. Any other tips are included in her post-care instructions. Kim deserves 5 stars, not only for her excellent services but also for her amazing customer service. She holds the ability to recreate her clients' visions, insuring a boost in their confidence.
