Stopped in today for a pedi, asked for no free edge on my nails, and had to continue to ask for them to be cut shorter, no filing after now they are tough and I have already scratched my leg. No massage, no lotion and no top coat. For fu@& sakes its a damn salon do they not know how to do a dang pedicure? There is a procedure your taught in beauty school 8 simple steps and he missed 4 of them. I feel it was a waste of time and money. Total time from getting out of my car to getting back in my car was 30 mins at that rate he is making 51.60 an hour. Let me just say I got lucky, Martha did my nails - she took her time, she's promptly and very good in details. My nails are beautiful & I would never have anyone but Martha to do my nails. They have glass on every counter, and everyone wears a face mask. Okay, I have to do an update on this: I will stick to my word that Martha is prompt and pay real attention to my nails. But for some reason, though 2 of my fingernails broke and crack after 5 days. I thought maybe I was just being rough with my nails so I waited 3 weeks and went back to see Martha and got my nails done again. She fixed and put a new set of acrylic on the broken one. Yay!! So nice again. She charges me an extra $3 to fix that. I didn't say anything. 2 days later my ring fingernails snap and broke as I was trying to rub my scalp with shampoo inside the shower. This was the worst experience I have ever had. We went in for 4 pedicures, 2 manicures and a full set. A total of $135.00 after we got started they forgot about the girls getting manicures for 25mins. When something was said the lady got an attitude. Was rude to my daughter and her friend. Asked for a flower on her big toes and got 2 straight lines. That is an extra charge After i said something about it the lady got even ruder. A customer that was waiting noticed the way my daughter was being treated and asked me if I have ever been here. I TOLD her no and that I would not be back. His parietal lobes earned gold stars today! Chit-chatting led me to find out he lived in San Fran and his wife, who is also a nail artist there lived in San Jose! =) He hooked it up! He gave my fingers extra attention and even charged me less than his wife told me it would be. I was not very pleased with my experience here. I got a full set of acrylics with shellac and animal print designs on my nails. All was well and fine until my nail tech was determining length, I made it very clear that I wanted SHORT nails. He clipped them and filed them down 3 times and I still wanted them shorter, on the third time he asked me if the length was ok and I still said shorter he said "ok $5 more dollars" I then decided I was not returning to this establishment. $5 for what exactly? For you to file my nails down to the length I prefer? Isn't that his job? A week later I ended up filing them down myself bc I could no longer stand the length. I ended up spending $50 on my nails total, which I feel is a tad high, I feel like I was itemized. I was also told during my service that my nails were not easy to do... I'm not exactly sure why, or why that commentary was necessary either, I thought that was rude... And I awkwardly replied with a confused "sorry?" I was also there for an hour total, which I feel was a little bit long. My cheetah prints left something to be desired, but overall I was happy with the overall look of my nails (aside from the length). Regardless I still tipped $10 bc I live on tips myself (hairdressing and waitressing) and I understand that time is valuable. However I will not be returning to this place again. I've never been waxed anywhere other than the salon, so I was a bit nervous, but I know a lot of ppl who get "maintenance" done at their nail salons. I was in and out within 10 minutes, if that. (They weren't busy, for once!!) It was $7, and she did an AWESOME job-- I was pleasantly surprised ;) On a side note.. This was my 2 nd time here. I got a reg pedicure from Val both times. She is fantastic !! I have psoriasis and it's under my toe nails so the nails are very sensitive and pedi's can hurt badly. Neither time hurt at all. She was that gentle and she listens and responds accordingly. I will go back for sure. I also have gotten manicures with Angie and I am just as happy with those and with her. She's very good and does a fantastic job.
