Kirsch is the best! Almost 8 years ago, I injured my right ear shooting shotguns on a movie set. This coupled with my normal hearing loss with aging at 72 years, as well as the high tinnitus caused by the accident made for a challenging scenario. This office is very well-run-considering being taken in on time,having a good explanation of what wasn't working well(my husband's hearing aids) & needing the wax build-up in his ears to be removed. Trust these people. I have been to so many hearing aid places over the years. There are certainly some shady characters. Beware when someone won't give you a price until they find out what your insurance will pay. That is a very unethical practice. Kirsch will never do that to you. Dr. Kirsch has actually told me not to purchase hearing aids and to wait another year for the model to change. They genuinely care about people and are so kind and understanding. I have encountered audiologists who have the patience of a gnat and won't take time to make sure your hearing aid settings are correct. I had one lady who didn't believe me when I told her the sound was off. She insisted I was wrong. How do you know what I'm hearing? You think I want to spend more time with you trying to adjust the sound? I want out of your office as much as you want me out. I went to Kirsch and they fixed the issue and made sure I was happy when I walked out. They are honest, patient and trustworthy which can be hard to find in this industry. I was having some unusual pain in my right ear and was in the market for some custom earplugs. I tried Kirsch audiology based on Yelp's recommendations, and was absolutely not disappointed. Stephen started our appointment almost exactly on time, and immediately gave off the vibe of someone who loves his craft. This guy was born to help people with their hearing, and is one of those specialists who go out of their way to explain everything as clearly as possible. He ran his battery of tests and assured me that I had excellent hearing, and then talked with me about the pain I was having. He ended up correctly diagnosing that the pain was stemming from grinding my teeth at night (for which I had slacked off on wearing my night guard). After about a week of wearing it religiously, the pain was pretty much gone. As for the custom plugs, he did an expert job building the molds and had them in my hands within a week. He even sent me a holiday card. Front desk communication was also very smooth and friendly, and the office is super clean and peaceful. read more

I've been seeing Stephen now for about 15 years. The first time I walked into his office was by chance... I was visiting a nearby business and curiosity got the better of me. I briefly spoke to his secretary who said he was busy so I thanked her, walked out the door, and was nearly halfway down the block when Stephen caught up to me. I was 33 at the time and had spent my entire life without hearing aids. I always knew my hearing was bad but had learned to con my way through life by reading lips/body language, or simply guessing answers and nodding, etc. It was on the sidewalk that Stephen convinced me to set up an appointment to come back and see him. It was the best decision of my life. I'll be honest, I was scared... I'd spent most of my life failing in school and when you're used to failing the last thing you want to do is take a hearing test that you're 100% guaranteed to fail, but I was surprised to learn it wasn't like that at all. Stephen has this uncanny ability with how he shares information about what he's doing that immediately put me at ease. This is going to sound strange but by the time I finished taking the test I felt like I'd passed.... and because I gave him the exact answers he needed he was able to find the perfect solution to my problem. I could write paragraph after paragraph and probably still wouldn't be able to find the words to recommend Stephen enough. I've heard horror stories from other family members who've had god-awful experiences with audiologists that didn't seem to care enough to properly test or find the perfect fit. Without these two things you're doomed. I could never see this being the case with Stephen, he's takes too much pride in what he does. Seriously, he loves his job. Suffice to say, Kirsch Audiology gets 5 stars... wish I could give him more stars but Yelp says 5.
