What gives me confidence in Sunrise is the exceptional care they provide to their residents, with a full team available around the clock, 24/7. You can really see that their goal is not only to provide care, but to champion the life of every senior and help them continue to live with dignity, purpose, and joy. It starts with the leadership. Benito, the Executive Director, is truly exceptional. He is always on top of everything and is very involved with what is happening in the community. You can see his commitment to making sure the residents, families, and staff are all taken care of. I also want to give a special shoutout to Eddie Santillan, the Activities Director. Eddie is always making sure the residents are up, active, and involved through different activities, events, and programs. He puts so much heart into what he does. He really works from the heart, and you can see how much he enjoys bringing happiness and engagement to the residents. He helps make everyday life at Sunrise of Orange more active, fun, and meaningful. And it's not just the leadership or activities team. The nurses, care managers, caregivers, and entire staff have always been very open, welcoming, and accommodating. The place is beautiful, only three years old, it lies above a lake. Indoors, the halls are painted a soft, aqua, and covered with beautiful artwork, both tasteful and varied. I don't know when I've ever had such good food. it is a full restaurant menu, breakfast, lunch, and dinner with 3 different specials for both lunch and dinner. Nothing is over- seasoned and a healthy diet is encouraged. In the Bistro, next to the always helpful and kind Concierge, you'll see fresh herbs being grown in the salad you'll eat that night. The Chef is astonishingly creative. Tonight it was Hoisin Glazed Duck Leg with fresh peas. Everything is cooked individually to order. The choices of desserts are varied and luscious. Tonight, pineapple upside down cake, Another night, vanilla cream pie, ,another chocolate chip cookies still warm from the oven that hang over your finger, soft and yummy. We are disappointed with the level of care and service at this assisted living facility, especially…read moreconsidering how much we are paying each month. The entire purpose of assisted living is to provide dependable assistance and peace of mind to residents and their families, and unfortunately, that has not been our experience. Phone calls frequently go unanswered, emails are often ignored, and most concerning of all, there have been times when she has pressed her assistance button with very long response times. Today, we decided to actually test the response time ourselves. While we were there, we pressed her assistance button and waited to see how long it would take for someone to come help her. We waited 40 minutes and nobody showed up. That experience was extremely concerning. Fourty minutes without any response isn't just poor service--it raises serious questions about resident safety. What if my mother had fallen? What if she was having a medical emergency and was unable to call anyone else? An assistance button provides very little peace of mind if nobody actually responds to it. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this facility for a loved one to ask detailed questions about staffing levels, medication administration, actual response times to assistance buttons, and how emergencies are handled before making a decision.

My mother has been here for approximately 7 years, initially starting in independent living. She…read morenow needs to be in Assisted Living and just recently moved in. The two stars are a savior from the 5 I give to Independent Living. Assisted Living gets 0 stars. It was rigged from the start starting with paperwork from my mother's rehab center. Rehab said she was at 95% capacity to live independently, and she is cognitive. However, Meridian/Pacifica said she needed total dependent care at the highest level (highest level = top dollar cost per month in addition to the rent). There was no 1-month follow-up/reassessment from the facility like they said because if there was, my mother would be more easily able to walk due to receiving a therapeutic shot she receives, seasonally. And like I said, she is cognitively keen. They keep her in bed and give her pain medication only during the day and night. Midday when it makes sense to walk, she was instructed to not get up because she is a fall risk. She needs someone to walk with her, but they seem to be understaffed and there is no available nurse or staff to help. I was advised to not have a caretaker with her anymore so it increases her likelihood to move. We did that. But then she ends up "being forgotten" as she reported to me. So I tested this. I visited today, randomly, and asked her to push the button for assistance. I waited 40 minutes and nobody came. The pendant lit up, so I know it worked. My mom spoke to me again after 45 minutes, which is my drive home from Meridian/Pacifica, and she still has not received help or a response from whoever it is that is assigned to take care of her or the entire floor of residents. I called the front desk a few times and I called the nurse station (when I was home) and there has been no answer. I cannot provide my concerns to anybody regarding my mother's situation. Oh, but when I do- the gang of nurses approach together to say that it's the resident's fault for not participating in activities or getting up... but if she's instructed to not get up and only with assistance, it seems at this point she is being oppressed to stay bedridden and sick. Last thing- they keep asking my mom when her caretaker is arriving or if "she's coming today?" She didn't have a daily caretaker or life alert anymore because she's in Assisted Living. How can Life Alert be more responsive than workers in their own workplace? Now I have to get a caretaker for my mom some days a week.

Now, eight months into dad's residency at Forever Young our gratitude for William and his caregiving team has only deepened. The caregivers are genuine, kind, compassionate, and loving--truly exceptional. They know dad so well that they can anticipate his needs, which not only ensures outstanding care but also helps reduce his frustrations with his condition. The staff frequently send me pictures of dad participating in activities, which is such a comfort. Meals are carefully prepared to be both nutritious and tailored to the residents' preferences and abilities. Dad has the freedom to come and go and we can visit anytime. Knowing he is in a place where he is genuinely cared for and understood brings us immeasurable peace. There truly is no better place for dad to be.

His end of life was filled with love and affection. The team was patient and loving to our family's accommodations as we navigated that terribly sensitive time in our lives. William is someone you will immediately bond with and keep a relationship with throughout time. That is how deeply impactful his approach and communication is with his families. MemorialCare was on my insurance so I picked the Tustin location because it's close to my home, and I also work in Tustin. When I arrived Priscilla took my vitals, and brought me to the exam room where she asked questions for my profile. The sheet on the table said Welcome Frank. I was pleased that my doctor was Dr. Dadsetan. Both Priscilla and Dr. Dadsetan are wonderful. They really made me feel comfortable. Both really care about their patients. They take their time with you and ask if you have any questions. I'll be happy going to the doctor now.
