Unfortunately I was in a pretty rough accident involving black ice. I walked away from it miraculously with a concussion, some minor issues and bruises of course. I am a single mother and it could not have come at a worse time for us. Facing the fact that it was a total loss in which towing was not covered , I was at a loss and besides myself. However the Ladies I dealt with were absolutely wonderful. They understood the dire situation I found myself in and they worked with me, and believed me when I wanted to take care of my debt to them. As promised I followed through and they made me cry! Well almost, but they were tears of relief, joy, a weight being lifted.. My car had to be cut out of some hefty Hemlocks and certainly was not the norm. I am sure it came with an expense for the company. Not only were these two wonderful women my heroes, but the owner as well! Bet he wasn't expecting someone to ask if they could hug him simply for his generosity and kindness. Over at Kirks if you call for information the woman who answers is very rude and short on the phone. Also when you sit there and go and request to get your personal belongings out of the vehicle because you don't know when you will be able to get it out due to unforseen circumstances they charge you 140.40 dollars just to get thru the gate to grab your items. Lets not also discuss you have to pay the tow fee which is thru the roof on top of a 75 dollar per day storage fee. When you are strapped for cash and can't even afford the smallest things in life they won't even care. They only care about the money. And if you explain your situation they say oh well you have 30 days or we file for abandonment and you lose your car. DO NOT USE THEM read more

A relative's car was towed there. A Michael Gunden refused to allow him to remove his personal documents before an exorbitant towing and storage fee was paid. That refusal is against state law. Additionally, Gunden was very rude and ignorant on the phone. Be wary doing any buisness with them including auto body work. read more

Extremely expensive, very rude. They open at 8 don't expect anyone until 830. They charge 750.00 to tow a cycle 1.5 miles. I mentioned that they have driven 15 miles in an ice storm to tow an F250 and only charged 350.00, I was told that wasn't an emergency. The kicker is we told the cop to leave the cycle in a friends driveway that was right there. The cop didn't say he had an issue with that, didn't say anything, we lived 3 miles away and could have had someone there in 10 minutes to get the bike. The law needs to be rewritten. Never will do business with this place again. read more

They responded in a reasonable amount of time, the driver was professional, courteous and took his time, and I was charged a fair price each time. This is the ONLY auto body shop I will use. Honesty, integrity, craftsmanship all rolled into one with results that exceeded my expectations! My car (which I purchased New - just 90 days prior) was rear-ended at a school bus stop.......if you can imagine that situation. I am very, very fussy as to where I take my car for any service and repairs. The body work and repairs were seamless and my car was returned to me in absolutely perfect condition. Lowered late model show car.... Caused significant damage to the front end during tow. Tow truck driver was belligerent and unprofessional from start to finish!! Seemed to have come from the bar to tow my car! Terrible customer service when I called to ask about car! Out for money only!! Charged me storage fees on a day they wouldn't answer the phone. Car was delivered with 15 miles since the tow, and covered in mud from tow yard! Worst towing company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In addition, dropped off car 2 1/2 blocks away from requested drop off point, in a busy commercial lot, with a proximity key left on top of tire that allowed car to be accessed even after they stated "it was locked". Now have to file claim for missing items from car in addition to damage from irresponsible towing practices!!!!!! read more

Quick estimate at their facility, after a phone call. They worked with both my insurance and myself to get everything done. Work took less time than expected, they worked direct with insurance to a get supplemental claim filed. Bill took time to explain the estimate and work to me, MUCH more personable and articulate than a few other shops I've used over the years. The office staff was fantastic, and extremely responsive. We got our personal effects out of the car, got everything squared away for the insurance company, and Nina went the extra mile to get me a good valuation of the car so I would be ready to meet with the insurance rep and compare. Husband got into a car accident last month and the police officer suggested that we get it towed to Kirks. We are new to the area and took the advice and was very happy. Our Lexus sustained a good amount of damage and the insurance company deemed it to be saved. Kirks called to let us know they were going to start the repair and assisted when needed. When the work took a little bit longer (1 month), they picked up the bill. I just received a follow-up call today and I was pleased to see they checked up. What an awful experience in the snow. I called Kirks and was price a quote over the phone then when they came it was $125 just to be pulled out of a ditch. Then the guy wouldn't take my vehicle to my home. On top of that he called the police and gave them my license without even letting me know. So the police and Kirks auto works together. I even overheard the police tell him we don't do business like that. Then I asked the guy to check my car to make sure everything was okay. He just looked and said , it's okay! I had to drive back home with a vehicle that shook for 30 minuets in the snow. Save your money, vehicle and time don't go here or call for a tow. read more

We had been warned about having to deal with Kirk's Auto Body from neighbors and local businesses. People were not understating the snide and slimy attitude of the entire Kirk crew. It seems as if they have some nefarious methods of keeping themselves in business. If you are so unfortunate as to have a collision and you are forced to deal with Kirk's Auto Body due to their LONG-STANDING "arrangement" with township supervisor members, then be prepared to be fleeced by some nasty looking individuals. How these people are allowed to stay in business must have to do with their "special" arrangements with the townships and police. I have been told by long-standing residents in this area that owner had once been a local cop with a slimy rep, e.g. demanding incentive treatments from people he pulled over, etc. We have had specialty tows before from 25+ miles away and still did not have to pay the extortion cost charged us by Kirk for a 6 mile tow & 2 day (weekend storage). Yep - you heard that right, that's two days of being charged to be stored to a place we couldn't get access to cause they were closed. $650 for a 6 mile tow!!! Having advanced warning of Kirk's unsavory character, we were polite, business-like AND questioning. As promised by other unfortunate patrons, we were cussed out by the owner and front counter girl (lots of F bombs) for making them do special work to provide cops paperwork because we questioned their charge of $125 because Kirk claimed our vehicle was "flipped" upside down - but here's the thing - it was NEVER flipped upside down. We had to call the police just to verify the vehicle DIDN'T FLIP. It's because of our call to police, Kirk's customer service went above & beyond in their UNPROFESSIONAL SCREAMING & F-BOMB CUSS OUT for daring to question their invoice. Seems unbelievable but from what I'm hearing from many friends and neighbors is that Kirks is a truly unethical business. Kirk's written descriptions and their invoice DID NOT match. Just exactly what type of "incentives" are being provided by Kirks to encourage all the surrounding Townships to be in cahoots with them? Considered yourself warned! read more
