The sauce was awesome, meat tender, dumpling like your mom made it, and the cabbage side hit the spot. When you can get a perfectly prepared meal with a beer or wine for 15 euro a person, in a really nice, quaint, friendly setting, you've found the spot! If you're staying in Garmisch, it's a whole 4 minutes outside of town. Make the (short) drive and just order the special, whatever it is that night... you can't go wrong!

The Scholderer is warm and cozy and we felt at home here. Our server was super nice and warm-- we could tell the other customers felt the same way. We drank the local beer and also enjoyed the local schnapps after dinner. I ordered a US Hamburger which was a-mazing. Probably one of the better hamburgers I have ever had in my life-- sehr lecker! I also fell in the love with the decor-- there are lots of funny signs about drinking. They also had some lovely lit shadowboxes with vintage skiing pins. By the front door was a local man eating dinner with his well-behaved dog at his feet. If we are ever in Garmisch again, we will for sure revisit the Schloderer!
