Eastside Appliance Repair - New disposal installed

    Eastside Appliance Repair

Synopsis: Jason is a super knowledgeable, diligent, clean-as-you-go, and reasonably priced…read morehandyman. A born/raised Tucson family man. I would hire him again in a blink. He is preferably based on his namesake east side but will wander as far as midtown. I had several/varied projects needing attention - installation of a new dishwasher (and hauling away the old), installation of a kitchen sink garbage disposal (where there wasn't one at all), resolving a minor freezer issue (ice sheet forming at bottom, under the drawers) and replacing a strip of tile in front of the fireplace. All were completed A+ for a total of about $600 in labor, plus all the parts: $120 for the Costco disposal and another $100 in supplies (mortar, tile, grout, plumbing). This included a couple of 5 gallon buckets and a small circular tile saw blade (all of which I let Jason keep). Because the mortar needed to dry for at least 24 hours before grouting, the project spanned two Sundays... yes the man is his own boss and regularly works 6+ days/week. He's good about messaging too but sometimes cannot respond until evening... like 8pm. That never bothered me and my replies frankly encouraged it, Lol. I am a solid fan of the guy however do be aware he smokes the occasional cigarette but (on his own) always does so outside and never "in the middle" of a task, only during logical breaks (completion of disposal, completion of mortaring, etc.). I mention this only because I have an aunt who is actually allergic to cigarette smoke. Besides the reasonable/reliable and very experienced qualities, I think my favorite is that he doesn't mind you shadowing and (enthusiastically) explains any wrinkles or issues he spots as he's working, oftentimes the fault of the previous installer. Bonus, he warrants his work for a year.

Jason is extremely knowledgeable in the repair of all appliances and is affordable. He makes good…read moresuggestions as to cost saving measures also. Plus he is friendly and easy to work with.

We have dealt with 5 Star Appliance 3 times over the years. We needed a repairman for our in-home…read morerefrigerator 3 years ago. We contacted a different company first, and they sent someone out....$90 just to have him come......and once he got here, he was very arrogant, and once we told him that the refrigerator was 21 years old, he said "Well there's your problem....your compressor is shot. You might as well buy a new refrigerator, We don't do compressor work" and he left! That's when we contacted 5 Star, and Vitaliy came. Within 5 minutes he said "Your fan isn't working. I'll be right back." He came in a couple minutes later, and within 20 minutes, did the repair and it has been working well ever since. The second time we needed a repairman, we called 5 Star again, but they sent a very young man who was just beginning apparently, because he couldn't figure out how to do the repair. The dishwasher was 20 years old, so we just ended up buying a new one, which was fine. This time, our outside refrigerator needed a repair, so we called 5 Star again and specifically asked for Vitaliy. He came within a day or so, found the problem within 10 minutes and had it repaired 20 minutes later! He is awesome!

I called around some other appliance places to try to get somebody out right away to try to salvage the rest of my food, but nobody could come out the same day. Five star appliance, on the other hand, after saying that I was very concerned over my food, managed to find a way to fit me in for the day. The technician who arrived on time was very kind and very thorough and diagnosed me with a broken compressor. We talked about some options and he let me know what the warranty would look like and other details and helped me make a decision on how to proceed. I did choose to go with buying a new refrigerator and I think that was a good decision and 5 star helped me make it. I will definitely call them in the future for other appliance repair needs. Their pricing was fair. They were prompt and they were courteous.

AZA Repair - Cannot install rear panel

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am submitting a formal complaint against AZ Repair Services (AZA Services), owned by Mr. Dogdan, and 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, who contracted this vendor, for failure to repair or replace our refrigerator in a timely and effective manner. Key Facts: * November 20: Service request opened through 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for a non-working refrigerator. * AZ Repair Services replaced the compressor. The refrigerator did not work afterward. * Technician Andres stated his supervisor, Mr. Dogdan, said this was "normal" and to wait. The unit never functioned. * The claim was closed without resolution, requiring a new claim despite failed repairs. * Nearly a month later, AZ Repair Services replaced the electronic control board. The refrigerator still did not work. * The condition worsened: no cooling, no water dispensing, loud shaking noises, and eventually no power. * The technician stated a request would be submitted to replace the refrigerator. * January 16 2026: I was informed that instead of requesting replacement, Mr. Dogdan submitted another request to replace the same failed parts again. Outcome: * My family has been without a working refrigerator for over 2 1/2 months. * The vendor failed to complete the service or provide a resolution. * The owner did not return calls. * Repeated major part replacements were unreasonable given the refrigerator's age (approximately 15 years). Accountability extends to both AZ Repair Services and 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for continuing ineffective repairs and delays. I have four active 2-10 policies (three rentals and my primary residence) and have been a long-term customer. This experience reflects poor contractor oversight and lack of urgency for a significant household hardship.

The tech replaced the ice maker and was to replace worn, warped dispenser levers and the tubing in back as it desperately needs to be replaced. The tech said he could do it but his manager won't order the parts or let him. He has been out 4 times, long wait between times and today he said he didn't know why he was here as his order was blank. I was told 4 times by American Home Shield that the replacement parts and work has been approved, was also told that by AZA. I started this fiasco in January, this is now March. Just got off the phone, again, with American Home Sheild, same song and dance. Lets see if their management calls me back as requested. NOT a happy customer.
