As we were leaving to try a forth national tyre company we passed 'Deals on Wheels' in Tavistock street and I said to my partner we should try there as I had a tyre from them last year for a Renault Clio. Not only did the chap fill me with confidence from the outset, the price was fantastic. My partner and myself said after our visit we would never go anywhere else ever again. Even if we moved to Scotland we would travel back to these guys. I strongly recommend visiting this company for tyres, our van was a Ducato and tyres were in stock. Was really dufficult to remove bolts and it turned out theyd been fircrd in damaging them and the brake drum. He explained everything he was doing and what he found damaged. Tyre not faulty after all nir valve. Tyre remained fully inflated. He worjed on this fir 2 hours + and there was no chsrge as classed as inspection. I will need and buy from kwitfit 4 new tyres before MOT. EWAN deserves to be recognised and praised by the company fir his professionalism, tenacity and respectful attitude towards myself. I am so so grateful to him. Now it's a case of replacing damaged parts!

However, I have always felt that other people need to know my experiences with Prestige Performance (PP) because my review might just help someone who is reading this. After all, that is what reviews are for. Here is how it all started. I have a low mileage E38 740i which was built in the year 2000. That's a V8 and at the time it had done just under 55K miles on the clock. Late in December 2016 the car blew the radiator while I was away from home, so I called the AA to come and rescue me. The nice AA guy who came did a DIY job by covering the hole with some special glue and let it set in so that I could drive it home. He topped it up with water as well and he spent about two hours bleeding the engine to get rid of all the trapped air. He kept on telling me that these kind of cars need to be bled thoroughly or they would wreak havoc on you. So the plan was that I would drive the car home and then take it to the garage for a radiator replacement. Unfortunately I pushed my luck a bit and drove the car a few days without taking it to the garage. A few days later the temporary glue came off and the radiator raptured again on the motorway. The AA came and rescued me again. I asked them to tow the car to PP since that was the nearest garage from my house. I had only ever used PP once before for my wife's MOT and they seemed OK. We had only been living in the area for about two years, having moved from London. The AA guy who towed me to PP had warned me that there had been no damage to any part of the engine since it had not overheated in any way, and therefore, I should be weary of anyone who told me otherwise. So PP replaced the radiator and I did not have to pay a penny because the fix was covered under my AA Breakdown Cover. The car was fine for a few days until the dreaded "CHECK COOLANT LEVEL" message started appearing on the dashboard. I was confused since there was plenty of coolant in the car. I took the car back to PP and surprise surprise they told me that it had failed a head gasket test. Reading from the invoice I got back from them the amount I was charged for the investigation was £88 and the job was "Investigate cause of cooling system leaking and traced to cylinder head gasket failure". Further the workshop notes read: "Cylinder head gasket failed £2900 inc VAT to replace both cylinder head gaskets including skimming cylinder heads". Yes, they were going to charge me a whooping £2,900 to fix a problem that never existed! My heart was broken because my wife told me to get rid of the car - she does not have the emotional attachment that I have to it;) Remembering the warning from the AA guy I decided that I would take the car back to my normal garage in Hendon where the car has been serviced since about the year 2006. They investigated and found that the car had not been bled properly after the radiator had been replaced, hence the coolant level message on the display. They charged me less than £100 to fix the problem. I went back and told PP what had happened and all they told me was that they scanned the car with their machine and that was the result they got. Fair enough! I bet that even if I had the money and foolish enough they would have done the job and fail to bleed the car properly again. Imagine that a single AA guy could bleed the car whilst operating alone on the side of the road and PP could not do it whilst operating in a garage. Case closed! My car has done about 60K miles now and it's had no head gasket problems.

The truth is that they don't try to convince me to fix it at their place which was the only positive about it. I have no reason for damaging their reputation but I feel that I should protect future customers from their lack of knowledge. They said to repair it would cost more £1600 thus they said dump it. They charged me £40 for the diagnostics ha ha ha! I took it just before I dump to the garage by hornsey station, I said it has been diagnosed as per TT1 notes, but before we dump it to the scrap yard please give it a last check. The diagnostics were...that one of the leads of my battery had been disconnected thus leading to the fan not being powered and the engine misfiring and getting overheated!!! Furthermore, I was asked by the hornsey garage man, why all these screws and etc are just placed here and not where they should be. I could only assume that TT1 unscrewd parts to check the engine and were too busy with other things than place them back. Totally disrespectful and incapable or at least that individual that check my car. If I were you I would avoid them, they r dangerous!

I was able to wait in a comfortable, warm waiting room (part of a petrol station so you can buy a paper and drink while you wait!). Once the car had been looked at, I was taken under the ramp to see exactly what was wrong for myself, given the options for repair (including the cheaper options) and clear details of pricing. The car was fixed at the price agreed and on time. They also have facilities to pay and pick the car up out of hours (very useful if you work) and kept me fully informed at all times. As a woman, you feel a bit wary of garages but my experience was first rate and I would definitely use them again.

My car failed the mot so they called me and asked if i would like them to carryout the repairs needed in order for it to pass. They gave me a reasonable price and all the work including the re test (no charge) was completed by the next day. I normally find it intimidating going to a garage on my own but i found the whole experience great. The mechanic told me everything in simple terms the pros and cons of having the work done and a break down of the costs. The receptionist was very friendly and offered me tea or coffee while i waited and offered to have the car delivered to me if i didnt want to wait. I would definately recommend them

I rang london recovery i spoke to the receptionist they fitted me in the next day which was fantastic for me. when i arrived at london recovery i was greeted by such polite and friendly people. They carried out the service and phoned me once it was ready. They even dropped my car to my work which i thought was brilliant. The price of the service and a new exhust was extermely resonable i had been quoted by several other garages and london recovery where by far the cheapest.
