I turned to these guys when I noticed my daughter's confidence with maths was impacting her learning outcomes. It's hard for a kid to say they don't get something when they're in a class of 30+, not to mention the impact of home schooling during lockdown. The initial assessment gave a detailed picture of the gaps in her learning and in 9 months we saw her go from a very timid "maths isn't my thing" kid, to one who, in her class teacher's words "has her hand up for every question" and "feels that maths is her world and she is not scared of it". Regular assessments have seen her now ahead of the game in terms of curriculum and SATS which will set her up well for transitioning to High School next year. She thoroughly enjoys the tuition sessions and does not find the homework a burden (about half an hour a week, some written, some online). The tutors are highly professional; prompt, smart and focused. They provide me with detailed feedback each week. How the Kip McGrath system works I have no idea but it certainly does. What I think has had a huge impact, however, is the positive reinforcement my daughter is given. The learning environment and the tutor's approach is all designed to boost a child's self esteem, confidence and approach to learning. This is exactly what has happened with my daughter and it has spilled over into all her other subjects where she is now excelling. So having been told my daughter was "the middle of the middle" (ouch!) in Year 4, she is now, in Year 6, "above" in all subjects. HUGELY impressed. Needless to say, Daughter no.2 started her Kip journey this term. read more
