Moorlands Primary School was the place where it all started for me when it comes to education. I…read morehad six fantastic years at Moorlands and it will always be a School that remains close to my heart. The teachers at Moorlands are very friendly and do a great job in my view when it comes to teaching. No doubt a lot of things will have changed from the time I last attended Moorlands but I have nothing but praise for the staff I came across at Moorlands. I always look back at my time at Moorlands with fond memories and my family have been associated with Moorlands for over a decade. If parents are looking for a Primary School to send their children to, I would recommend they send them to Moorlands. Because I required special needs at Primary School, I was taught outside of class as well as inside the classroom. Walking past Moorlands just makes me want to go back to Primary School again and go back to being in School.

This school has recently undergone some changes which on the whole have been positive. The…read morebuildings are well maintained, well laid out and have been updated over the last year or so. The security of the school has been stepped up the most prominent change being the new gates on the upper play ground between the nursery and reception. A must for all us mothers who worry about kids wandering out the gate, these are kept locked and now it is a secure area for reception and nursery children to play with a new play area built for them and a new sheltered seating area. The kids are all encouraged to do their best at all times and the teachers are friendly but firm with them. The school has time for its pupils and will at times go above and beyond what is expected of them to help with any difficulties that arise in and out of school.

I attended sutton coldfield college from 2002 to 2005. The teaching staff were excellent though I…read morefound at times they weren't very encouraging. It is very easy to get distracted with a whole building dedicated to amenities containing a pool room, chill out lounge and the canteen. The facilities within the college are generally good, the library is slightly on the small side considering the amount of students that attend. Another problem is the compulsory A level general studies, it wastes valuable time that could be spent on other subjects. Overall if you are willing to work hard and want good quality teaching then this is the place for you.

When we were scouring South Brum for an affordable family home in 2010, one of our main…read moreconsiderations was the schools in the area. We have a young son who will be starting school in a year, so we were planning ahead. One of the big factors for picking the house we did was it's proximity to Raddlebarn school. Once we'd removed all the faith schools from equation, Raddlebarn is in the Top 40 schools in the entire city, which was a fairly good recommendation. A better recommendation comes from the parents of the kid who go there (many of whom are either our friends, or else neighbours) and almost all of them have got nothing but good things to say about the place. The school has a lovely feel to it and I feel 100% confident in sending our boy there next year.
