My husband and I live and travel in our RV. We have a dentist in our home state of FL that we see…read moreevery December and manages our yearly xrays etc. We wanted to try Aspen Dental in Anderson for our 6 month cleaning. We just left there and I have never had such a bad experience with a doctor or dentist. We have to pay out of pocket because we're out of state (not a problem we knew this going in) They ask that as a new patient you do xrays. They only charge $29 for that so it was fine with us, but I explained several times that all I wanted was a basic cleaning. They informed me after the xrays that I needed a deep cleaning at the cost of $3000! I said no thanks I'll speak to my home dentist - who takes my dental insurance- about it. (She had told me when I saw her in December that I was looking good - I have bone loss but have good dental hygiene so she saw no need to put me through the deep cleaning at that time). The dental tech then refused to do a basic cleaning because it would be a disservice to me! Even though the doctor said I could have the Basic cleaning she still refused. But letting whatever could be cleaned in a basic cleaning build up on my teeth until December would be better? My husband had the appointment right after me and they told him the exact same thing about needing a deep cleaning. HOWEVER he had just had a thorough deep cleaning three months before so it is highly doubtful he needed another. They also refused him a basic cleaning. It was just a money grab. I was practically begging the tech to clean my teeth as I have no other alternative until December and she just wouldn't listen. I even offered to sign something but she said it didn't cover her enough. I wish I had done more research before I called them. Definitely don't make the same mistake I did. They tried to take advantage because I didn't have insurance I could use with them and refused me service when I didn't want to be gouged.

Beware of this place…read more My first visit as a walk-in, I waited three hours and was sent home with antibiotics. When I came back a few days later, I only wanted one tooth pulled, but the doctor wanted to pull all my teeth. I told him no, just the one. He smiled, numbed me up, and started pulling the tooth. I've had teeth pulled before, so I know what it feels like. He had the tooth almost out when he suddenly said, "I was hoping that wouldn't happen." Then he grabbed a grinder and started grinding. After a moment he said "Oh no," stopped, and pulled the tooth out. He set it on the table in front of me, and it had been ground round. When I left, I could feel a brand-new gap in my only back tooth that wasn't there before. I called a lawyer when I got home, but nothing came of it. About a year later that tooth started throbbing with pain. When I went back and told the nurse and doctor what happened, they didn't believe me. They hurt me again, took $100, and then said it would be another $400 to pull the painful tooth. Another time I waited three hours again. A man came in who had all his teeth pulled the day before. He was crying in severe pain, begging for help, and saying he had already paid. It was heartbreaking to watch. He was still sitting there when I left. Later they told me that doctor doesn't work there anymore. I can't imagine why.
