I found this winery by chance. I was going to a tea party at a nearby lavender farm and drove by…read morethe winery and gave it a look. The property was beautiful. As I drove down the driveway toward the tasting room, I took in all of the gardens and the grapes that were growing. When I got there I walked along a path that was lined with greenery and flowers. When I got inside, I was greeted by the owner Tony. Tony was lovely and so helpful, he explained the different wines, and they were clearly marked for sweetness level or for how dry they were on the sheet where you chose your samples. I did choose four samples to try, and I really liked one of them. I am more of a sweet wine gal, and I have been trying to branch out a little bit, but I'm just not there yet. And talking to Tony I found out that his son is also in the wine business and he is in the wine business in California. Tony also sources some of his grapes from California. I also found out that he has three Airbnb's on this property one is over the tasting room and then two are at the front of the property. It was so beautiful there and I ended up bringing a couple of bottles of wine home. I also ate my lunch there, but they do not have a food license so I picked some local cheese that they had in a refrigerator and some summer sausage from a sausage maker in Cincinnati and he handed me a knife and cutting board so I made my own charcuterie and it worked out perfectly. There were so many lovely places to sit outside and have my lunch but it was about 90° and not much breeze so I ended up staying in. If I am ever in this part of Kentucky again, I will stop for another late lunch and wine tasting! Kudos to Tony he did a wonderful job.

Hanover Winery is a quaint local winery in the Butler County area, located just outside of…read moreHamilton, OH in the countryside. The area is quiet, the sounds of local wildlife filling the air- birds chirping, frogs croaking, trees rustling. The grounds are centered around a small pond, with outdoor benches, tables, a small pavilion as well as a pergola. The parking at Hanover Winery is just a simple gravel lot, with a small entrance between the trees to gain access to this establishment. Sophia and I discovered this place at the Oxford Beer and Wine Festival in May 2025. They were serving so many different types of wine, it was hard to pick one. Sophia tried the Dammit Annie! , a sweet and rich blackberry wine. Sophia loved the taste, and said we will need to get a bottle. Fast forward to today, June 14th, 2025. Sophia and I make our way out to the winery. It's warm outside, very high humidity. As we get out of the car, we are greeted with the wonderful sounds of nature. We make our way through the trees, following the walkway up to the main building. The main building is a pole barn, with barrels lining the walls, a cooler with wines and beers, as well as slushee machines. We were greeted by three workers, all of which were pleasant, inviting, and easy to talk to. We explained to them how we discovered their winery and they thanked us for coming out. We ordered our bottle of wine and also got two stemless wine glasses to commemorate the outing. We are now sitting under the pavilion, enjoying the weather despite how muggy it is, sipping on this delicious wine, and enjoying reconnecting with nature. The only downside to this winery is that it is located off of a two lane country road, so you occasionally hear the loud sounds of vehicles as they zip by. The Dammit Annie! is a very sweet wine, something that would work best a dessert wine. It smells of rich, ripe blackberries. The first thing you taste is the sweetness as well as tartness of blackberries. This flavor coats the whole palette. The flavor isn't long lasting, and as it fades you begin to taste it almost get more sour and drier. The wine leaves a pleasant aftertaste of blackberries, reminding me of blackberry jams I would make with my family in the summer. Overall, I would recommend checking out this beautiful winery. I know Sophia and I will be coming back for their food as well as the live music they have.

We went through many options but decided on some favorites. My bottle was $12 and I couldn't have been happier sitting beside the bond with it. It's such a cute place especially when they're playing live music!
