I had a very disappointing experience with Kingseed Family Dental. Before receiving two fillings, I made a point to be proactive about costs. I worked with the dentist to submit a predetermination of benefits to my insurance so I would know exactly what to expect financially. Once the predetermination of benefits came back, I paid that full amount at the time of service, believing everything was settled. About a month later, I received an additional bill for $12. While the amount itself is small, that's not the issue--the issue is transparency and accountability. I reached out simply to understand why there was a remaining balance after a pre-estimate had already been completed and paid. Instead of providing a clear explanation, I was told to contact my insurance company myself. As a patient, I believe it is completely reasonable to ask questions about billing--especially when I took the proper steps upfront to avoid surprises. What's most concerning is that rather than addressing my question or helping clarify the discrepancy, the practice chose to dismiss me as a patient, citing a lack of trust in their billing process. That response felt extreme, unprofessional, and dismissive of a patient's right to understand their own healthcare costs. I expected better communication, transparency, and respect. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that patient concerns--especially around billing--are not handled with the care they should be. read more

Bills for service you don't need and "forgets" you paid your last visit and argues with you . Check in/out desk is usually rude. Teeth cleaner is nice though. Best part is the convenience of their hours and location. read more

Had a tooth removed today. The dentist wouldn't wait for my jaw to be numb so it took 5 shots before I was partially numb. Not only did I feel it she didn't stop until she had broke the tooth, removed bone, drilled it, then finally got it all out then had to stitch it! It is still bleeding after 10 hours! read more

I have really bad anxiety and the dentist always makes it so much worse! I needed a new dentist because my last made me feel so bad about myself I was in tears! This was the best experience ever! From the minute I walked in the door they were all welcoming and very kind. Everything was explained before it was done and my hygienist Heather put me right at ease. She took time to really explain everything and answer all my questions. I was NEVER made to feel bad at all! The dentist Dr. Kingseed was very nice also! I am actually really looking forward to getting the work done I've been putting off! The receptionist Mariah was very nice also and I know all my pricing up front with my insurance. My boyfriend and I moved to Indy about 6 months ago. It was time for him to get a check up and so he picked somewhere that accepts his insurance, had decent reviews on google and was close to work. He returned very happy with his care and a new patient goody bag! I unfortunately broke my permanent retainer from braces. I searched around close to home, but at the end of the day nothing beats a great review from another patient! The 25 minutes drive was way worth it. They were able to get me in quickly. I knew I was in the right place when the new patient paperwork asked about barriers to care such as time, money, etc. It was a sign that Kingseed Family Dental viewed us as humans with lives and priorities instead of numbers. I had Dr. Ebisinde Akah as my dentist. She gave me more than one option to solve the broken retainer dilemma and even asked if I had enough time that day or needed a second appointment (as a grad student, I wrote time and money as my barriers). Lindsey Davis, EFDA was also a part of my care team. Both women were incredibly friendly and considerate! When I came back to get my new night retainer fitted it was great but not perfect. They sent me home with the great one while making me a perfect one at no charge! I'm excited to make Kingseed Family Dental my dentist for as long as I'm in Indianapolis Area! P.S. there are lots of tvs, even one to keep you occupied when laying all the way back in the dental chair. Big perk! read more

Best dentist I've been to in awhile. It is very modern, clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Each room has a TV mounted on the ceiling which helps with with my nervousness during dentist appointments. Works with my on my crazy work schedule and I'm always able to get an appointment time that works for me. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. read more

I've debated even writing this but after my positive experience at the next place I don't want someone to go through what I almost went through. I recently started working in Indy and changed insurance. My regular scheduled appointment was in July but I waited until my new insurance kicked in so I wasn't able to get in until September... the lady that did the exam shamed me for this! I floss, brush and have a regular cleaning so I was annoyed about her comments of me waiting until I had insurance. Next I had my teeth cleaning the lady that cleaned my teeth was wonderful. She was nice, diligent and seemed to like her job. After she was finished I waited for the dentist to check out my teeth. I knew I had at least one cavity because I know my teeth well. The dentist claimed I had an abscess. I asked her to point it out to me and she was not very confident. I asked what my options were bc I would not have a root canal. I understand that is not for everyone but I've done my research. The dentist rudely questioned me about this. When I wouldn't budge she said my only option was an implant. I asked for the cost bc I'm a single mom and would need to save. $4,500-6,000. I was skeptical bc I had zero symptoms of an abscess and frankly that's what I'm paying for 2 weeks in Europe!!!. I found another dentist and had the xrays sent to his office. I didn't tell them why I was there I just asked for an exam and diagnose . They wouldn't even diagnose me without new xrays bc the ones sent over were such poor quality( btw they did xrays for free) after the xrays he found the cavity that Kingseed found and another they never said anything about! Best part is he took pictures and explain the cavities. Next I told him about the abscess and implant so he took more xrays and included my gums. NO ABSCESS!!! None what so ever. I would have had this done....sacrificed vacations to do it and it wasn't even needed. Beware and trust your gut. read more

If you have kids do not take your children here. They can not accommodate fully for young small children. Went from 1 visit having no decay to being sent back to pediatric dentist and having 9 cavities with an extraction needed. Services were explained in chart as "attempted" and never attempted. They didn't want to scare her... Parents should decide, that's why they are minors, they don't make their own medical decisions. Pediatric dentists should be used for children, NOT a family practice. They do not know how to treat children appropriately for teeth. Very religious on taking children to dentist and switched to try closer to home. Never again. read more

Dr. Kingseed is a very gentle and talented dentist, and I trust her care. I've had issues with dental offices claiming shadows on X-rays are cavities, or making unnecessary appointments just to get an extra buck, but not here. Some of the hygienist are nicer than others but they are all adept and will give you a good cleaning. The billing is a little random, and I've had issues with the front desk. I started with a glossy valpack coupon for $300 off a procedure if I did not have insurance. They did not honor the discount because I did have insurance, just not the kind of insurance that would cover any amount of the procedure. In another situation, the front desk assured me that enough time had passed to have an X-ray done, but it was one week early, and I had to pay out of pocket. The office kept telling me that insurance had refused the claim, but was not transparent about the reason why. I had to do all the legwork to find out the refusal reason AND pay. They also have a $25 cancellation policy, so watch out for that too. I really like this office compared to others, they have done their best to accommodate my anxiety in the dentist chair. However, if I keep getting different advice about procedures from the front desk (one woman says composites last 10 years another says I can't eat corn on the cob?), and I don't trust billing 100%... I can't really give the business a 5 star review. I would wholeheartedly recommend this dentist over the others in Avon, but I guess the truth is, no dentist is perfect. read more

All star dental practice! Dr. Sarah Kingseed comes highly recommended by my family. They did not schedule our first appointments a month or two out like most do for new patients. They got my girls in quickly, and my kids love the dentist and friendly staff. Follow up visits were also prompt, and a referral was given to my older girl for her wisdom teeth. The practice they referred us to also took wonderful care of my daughter, so I appreciate Plainfield Dental even more. read more

They're organized and look polished, their ads often come in Valpak. However, their hygienists perform a lot of the procedures, I had a front filling that chipped twice from them within a day, they decided to shave it down, but when I asked them to replaced it, they told me my insurance won't cover it (all of a sudden it was cosmetic now). When I went to a different dentist they replaced it and told me it was still bulky in the back and pushing on my gums. I even asked about by gums because it was brought up before (they were sensitive due to braces and brushing too harsh), they referred me to a doctor with a paper that said in capital "per patient". Their practice isn't great, maybe could pass in Plainfield, but not Indy or elsewhere, or convenient for small town folks. I also remember a waitlist and their response was to call back and forth for an opening with paperwork handy, and recently got a letter saying they only accept certain insurances when I was in the process of changing jobs, the reason was because of "extensive paperwork". So they were nice, and the doctor would check in with the same low-tone "Hello", ask you one or two very generic question and then ignore you and walk away, but anything out of the ordinary, their big smiles will easily give you a snobby vibe, and I'm normally quiet and passive. I went to them for a two years, so it's not due to one bad experience or a rant. read more
