I cannot say enough what a wonderful time we had on this trip. The company I work for took 23 of us up for a two day rafting adventure and it was outstanding. From the rafting guides, to the food, to the friendly atmosphere I was astounded how smoothly everything ran. The safety was a concern of some members of our group but after the safety meeting everyone was ready to roll and it was a blast. Was amazed at how great all the pictures the staff took were and how fast they were sent out to us. Already working on getting another group together for next year!!! Casey that is just a heads up not a warning!! Thank you again for everything.

It was everyone's first time river rafting in my group (except one). We had so much fun!! I personally waited until July 6th to schedule just for the river to be slower. However, next year when I go, I'll go earlier in the year lol! We had a great time and "Stevie B" was the mooooooost awesome guide!!

Wow what an experience! I love how this place is run and how well they take care of their customers. Great camping, great food, and great ride on the river. It was especially fun in 2023 with the high water from all the snow melt from the Sierras. Highly recommend this outfit for a river rafting trip. Come with a group and you'll enjoy it together. Don't be afraid of the river, the guides are great.

Been going on the Mighty Kings for 13 years and there is no better company than KRE! I went with two other companies that were nearby, and they couldn't measure up. KRE sets up every year to represent! I love taking my group of friends out for an annual trip as well as my whole office to celebrate.

I won't lie I was pretty nervous white water rafting on a small boat but I was excited with all the rain we got this year that the rapids and river would be full and flowing... I've done it twice at Jackson Hole Wyoming and they were the bigger boats. But our guide Gary was awesome ! Let me start off by saying how impressed with how the entire staff was soo friendly and organized ! We went with my sister's gym and from the moment we got there for our 1000am Sunday slot everyone was welcoming. They rung the bell and provided an in detail safety lesson then we had a delicious lunch and then we suited up ready to go to the river. They have all the gear clean and ready for you ! We got in the bus and shuttled all of us to the rafting boats. Gary was great ! He went over in detail the safety lesson, went over the different commands and wanted us to practice each command until we felt comfortable. He was always communicating with us and encouraging us. Midway through the rafting trip all the boats stop at a little beach part of the river to be able to jump out of the boat and take a little break. The water was nice and cool especially on the 108 degree type of day. As we continued further down the river the views were spectacular and all along the river they had professional people taking our photos! We ended right back at our campsite which was nice and they had a little happy hour snacks ready for us! Overall it was such a great experience with professional people who obviously know what they are doing ! I would definitely come back again!

I have been rafting with a few different companies in a few different areas and this is by far one of the best I have ever done. To start off the price is a steal! We had two nights of camping, one half day of rafting with lunch and dinner included for $185 a person! They have a decent campground set up right on the water. The do have a toilet bathroom on site, just make sure to bring a table since there is none set at camp sites. They do have a camp mess hall kitchen when they provide you meals. Super good options for lunch we had chicken fajitas with rice beans and all the fixings. We then set off in the bus heading to the launch location. It was about a 15min bus ride and you then end right back at camp. They have it super easy where you dont have to carry the boat far at all like other rivers i have rafted. After you finish and come back right on camp they have a happy hour set with beer, wine, soda and snacks! Amazing after just finishing 4 hours on the water. While your relaxing and cleaning up from the day they are preparing a spectacular dinner. That includes tri-tip, chicken, rice, and salad. Best part of the camping trip is not having to spend the time cooking cleaning and just getting to enjoy the trip. We had such a spectacular time. They have a volleyball court and corn hole. Only thing is be cautions of the skunks! I have never seen or been ambushed by so many skunks, not sure if we were set up in their den or they have a love for us bit there was so many in our camp. We will be prepared for next time.

SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE RAFTING WITH KRE!! Ditch the crowds at Kern & come here!! The crew was well organized, communicative & fun. Carly was our guide, and she did a great job with a boat full of beginners. Very impressed with the bus transportation, photography, and even the bbq lunch. Bonus - you may camp onsite for free before/after your raft tour, just stay on the perimeter of the property & pack all your trash out. There are many shaded places around the property. Will 100% come back for future seasons!

I have visited and rafted with KRE five times and all have been amazing experiences. The river has its good years and bad years but that all depends on the snow melt and time of year. The service is always excellent and the beautiful surroundings make it even better. In the years of the drought the river ran low and there was not muck action but 2017-19 was high water and it was amazing. Special thanks to Trevor our guide for getting us down the river without any mishaps and for being a guide for ten years. See you all soon KRE. read more

It's been 6 or 7 years since I have been rafting, and I am so thankful that my daughter put together this trip with KRE over father's day weekend. a little to my surprise, there were some very familiar faces in camp from my previous experiences with KRE from 2007-2010, but not to my surprise, all the staff and guides, from the rookies to the vets, delivered the same great 'treat you like family' experience that hooked us all those years ago. -A special thank you to Julie for all of your work with setting up out team account to make things as easy as possible and dealing with all the changes. -one to Phil for your special care on the river with our smaller but no less fierce rafters, making sure they got the best experience you could offer and of course keeping them safe! -and one to Casey and Justin for your efforts to 'give us the good stuff' and feeding our excitement and maxing out the fun level!!! I think we are officially back on the annual trip plan for a while... read more

WOW WOWOWOWOOOWOWOWOWOW!!!! I had soooooooooooo much fun!!! So, my experience with KRE started through a meetup group that I'm a part of. The family of one of one of the members does an annual trip and they apparently have a loooooong history of camping and WWR through KRE. I have to say, that relationship and the respect and heck, I'll say it...LOVE that both sides have for each other was touching. You RARELY see a business that really treats it's customers like FAMILY the way KRE treated this group. I was truly impressed. Antyway... We arrived Saturday and the campsite was very clean and the bathrooms were pretty immaculate. The equipment for activities(volleyball setup, horseshoes, etc) was in great condition and the area for camping was nicely situated along the water. Well, you could hear the river rushing through but you couldn't really SEE it from the camping spaces...it was only a few feet away though. We set up camp and pretty soon they were ringing the bell for our orientation. They went over a bunch of safety stuff and just the lay out of what was going to happen. The guides were young college aged looking folks and they were super cute and funny...but you could tell that they had lots of experience and they made sure to highlight the things that they wanted to make sure you took seriously. We got our gear and you had the option of getting the full wetsuit, booties and jacket or you could just get what you need. They had a WIDE range of sizes for the wetsuits...even REALLY BIG sizes (I'm a tall and plus sized lady and they EASILY had my size). After that we changed and headed for the old school bus to take us to the top of the river. On the way there the group sang songs and everybody was in great spirits! Once at the river "put out" we got a little more instruction on safety and procedures. We practiced a bit in the still water and then headed down the river! OH MY GOSH! I don't think I've ever been so scared but had so much fun in my life!!! It was the most awesome experience EVER! We made it down the 10 mile river safely and ended up right back at our campsite. soooo awesome! I have only 2 "cons" for this experience! **Our instructor/guide was great HOWEVER I would have liked more instruction on THE PROPER FORM for the forward and backward strokes. I feel like she just told us to "paddle backwards" without going into HOW to PROPERLY paddle backwards. I was worrying about proper form to protect my back, you know? Maybe that's jut me cuz I'm old. LOL. **That night the staff members were SUPER LOUD while we were trying to sleep! We were going to have to get up really early the next morning and after a full day I was dead tired...but the staff members were in the dining area laughing and joking until like 2am!! And because of the setup their voices carried down the hill and right into my earhole! SUPER ANNOYING!!!! I wanted to say something but I didn't want to be a party pooper...later I was thinking CONSIDERING THE MONEY I PAID I SHOULD HAVE JUST YELLED AT THEM TO SHUT THE HELL UP! LOL. But I'm nice...I don't do things like that. This was SUCH a frickin great experience though! I hope to go back next year! read more

Although the drive out to Twin Pines Camp had us questioning our wisdom (was Deliverance filmed out here?), once we arrived at Kings River Expeditions all fear and hesitation was forgotten. The staff was super friendly and helpful as we checked in and even provided snacks and refreshments in the waiting time before all the festivities began. Lots of fun things were offered to fill the down time, such as volleyball, ping pong, Uno, and horseshoes. Our trip was the 10am option although an earlier choice and a two-day trip are also offered by KRE. After orientation, a safety briefing, and lunch, we embarked on a bus trip up the canyon to the launch point. Four hours of exciting, soaking, bouncing, swimming, thrilling hours later we arrived back at the camp. Our guide, Jason, was fun and informative. He shared natural history, local lore, and his own stories with us which made the whole while seem like a gathering of old friends. Many laughs were shared. When my hunny dislodged himself (or was pushed, jury's still out) from the boat, Jason skillfully and tactfully managed to both direct and retrieve him as well as give rowing commands to us remaining in the boat throughout the rapid. A camera crew was part of the armada of rafts traveling downriver and managed to capture a lot of great moments during the trip, which were later shown to us as a video during the dinner hour and made available for purchase. It would be hard to choose whether the meals or the adventure itself made the trip the great experience that we enjoyed. We were provided lunch and dinner as well as the aforementioned snacks and pre-dinner drinks (Happy Hour?! Great accompaniment to an afternoon in the waves and sun!) with various munchies. Everything was delicious, filling, and fresh. It was a full restaurant experience under a canopy beside a river. I've been rafting on several rivers will several companies in Northern California and Oregon but this was by far the best experience I've had. I will definitely be recommending it to friends and talking about the thrill for a long while. read more

Just cam back from KRE(Kings River Expeditions) and let me tell you, for a first-timer I had a great time. I was a little worried about the whole camping and drowning in the water thing. But I have to say I had one of the best times. When I got to the camp site, it was clean and luckily some people from my group saved some spots right by the water. There were a few bugs, but that's whats to be expected. There were bathrooms and sinks but it was a far walk from where we set up our tents. The bathrooms themselves were very clean and actually kind of nice. As for the rafting, it was an experience I will never forget. There was more water then usual because of the snow fall this past winter. The drive up was kind of scary because they take you up this road just big enough for the bus. The driver drives in reverse across the bridge and your view is of the rapids you will be going down. Once you get to the point where your adventure will begin you are assigned to a boat and instructor. The instructors were awesome especially JASON, our instructor, The whole time he kept us save, taught us a few things, and we even rescued someone from the water. We even rode a rapid backwards which was the highlight of the trip. In the words of Jason it was "TOTALLY TUBULAR" After our adventures down the rapids we were given a lunch of hamburgers, chips, cookies, fruits, beans, and soda. It was good after a long 2-hours on the water. All I have to say about KRE is that I WILL definitely be going again. read more

Excellent rafting experience! Our guide, Carley, was experienced and a lot of fun. I highly recommend this company. Only complaint would be an hour long ride in an old, non-air conditioned school bus to reach the rafting sight. Other than that, it was a blast! read more
I've been coming to Kings River for years now, and it's always guaranteed a great time! Try and get here early to get a good camping spot for your group, it's first come first serve! The facilities are nice and clean, the food is great, they have volleyball, horseshoes, happy hour, and of course, the best part, rafting! We went over memorial weekend this year, and our guide was Josie! She was incredible, full of energy, fun and professional at the same time! We had a lot of first timers in our group this year, we will definitely be back again! read more

This posting will tell all good the bad & ugly to give u a well rounded picture & honest review. CONS: 1: Not going to lie- the bus ride on the narrow road to get to our rafting starting point was terrifying. We got right with Jesus! The buses have no seatbelts- again- I want you to know it ALL! Drivers are GREAT, roads are scary narrow! 2: heads up- if you have an appointment- it might not go as planned. It can take several hrs before you raft including the 45min bus trip. Other wise not a big deal whole experience is fun. THE GOOD: 1: TREVOR! PLEASE MARRY INTO MY FAMILY! YOU ARE AWESOME! YES THIS IS A REAL PROPOSAL-MY SISTER IS SINGLE & BEAUTIFUL & AWESOME LIKE YOU! Ride into Long Beach on your raft & we'll pick you up ;) Trevor was our river guide- think "Aqua Man". This man has many years of experience & grew up doing this. He IS THE BEST HANDS DOWN! Very knowledgeable and made our rafting experience a memorable one. Trevor was kind & friendly, & had our family talking about him afterwards. He's really friendly with kids too. We went backwards on one thrill & he slowly spinned the raft to show us beautiful views. He educated us on the different names of locations on the river, & showed us a set of his favorite trees. One tree growing sideways over the river straight out of a rock, & 2 trees- an oak & a pine tree sharing a root ball underneath (best buddies as he called them) - the pine tree stretching out a tree limb over to the oak tree as if hugging his buddy. Enjoy this rafting experience, soak in the views, listen to your surroundings. Trevor was a terrific guide, it's about a 2 hour rafting ride- with a break at a midway point. It's not a strenuous exercise, but rather moments of work- not too much so dont worry if your not the athletic type. If you go rafting with this co you can't get better than Trevor! All funny aside- he really is that great & I wouldn't want to have any other guide other than him. This can be a dangerous trip-or unpredictable-I dont care how anyone else sells it to you. Listen to your guide, whom ever you get. Your guide is there to make it safe & enjoyable. Please note we did go on the raft with 3 small children. They held on to straps "rodeo" straps I think they called them. They were fine, safe & loving the thrill of this crazy wild ride. The class of the river is 3- perfect for beginners & just right! It is AWESOME! Kids will be fine- don't freak out- or let that stop you. 2:Bbq was great!, they prepared burgers, beans, chips, lemonade & water with all the condiments. When we came back from the rafting trip they prepared "happy hour"- a snack bar for us which consisted of chips, trail mix, baby carrots celery & ranch dip. They took care of us! My kids said their food was better than In-N-Out. 3: Staff are friendly! They are cheerful & fun. We got so excited about our rafting trip we rode up the mountain on low gas. They helped us out by selling us some of their own gas. All staff were just great & accommodating! TREVOR YOUR #1 4: location is cool, restrooms are clean 5: DO BUY THE PICTURES- the photographer did an amazing job (I'm a pro photographer). We expected a couple pictures "maybe" but got an album instead. 6: Camping is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Yup- free camping! Notes: River is ice cold. They do rent wet suits for cheap. YOU WILL GET DRENCHED! At first my feet couldn't handle the freezing water temperatures. The boat has some water in it at all times. Wear tennis shoes! No flip flops. Wear a tshirt- for your comfort- because you will be wearing a life vest over it. If you can buy shoes that are wetsuit type fabric I reccomend it. Overall GREAT EXPERIENCE AWESOME MEMORIES & 5 STAR COMPANY- only cause you have Trevor lol. Kings River Expeditions-Thank you for good times!!! See you guys next year! THIS IS EXTRA INFO! If your planning on camping beware of the cows! Yes cows! They are docile but will raid your camp site looking for food. It happened to us 4x. Just be loud & yell "Yaaaahhhh" "Yaaaahhh" something like that & they'll go away. Watch your step cause they leave unwanted presents behind--booby traps everywhere! No need to buy ice! Just refill your ice chest with river water & your good! On that same note- it's super cold the kids dipped & bailed. If taking small children keep good watch on them when going near the river. They're are parts of the river where younger kids can safely play in- beach like areas. Also if camping out there - there are many rocks on the land. We ended up setting up on the car driveway part. We stayed at the camp site just before you arrive at Kings River Expeditions. The restrooms are the biggest con - Little prairie style restrooms with about 50 flys at your butt waiting on lunch time! Bring wipies! You can also camp at the companies land area for free- again they have clean restrooms. read more

I had an Excellent experience with KRE. Staff and owners are super friendly and work very hard to provide excellent customer service. Restrooms were clean. KRE makes a killer breakfast, lunch and dinner. River rafting experience surpassed my expectations. They even had great entertainment put on by staff at night. KRE leases the land from the forest service, so they don't have the authority to enforce rules. A few campers had very loud music, but again KRE can't do much about it, only Park Rangers can enforce rules so I can't deduct points for this. I'll be back next year and the year after that. read more

Had an awesome time last week! We signed up for the one-day 10am trip on a Thursday. It took us about an hour and a half to get there from Clovis. The drive up was long and windy but beautiful! The only traffic we encountered were some cows threatening to cross the road. A quick welcome and safety orientation was followed by lunch at 11. Bathrooms were clean. No showers. Some people had camped out the night before. There was a volley ball court set up and a huge canopy with tons of picnic tables. Wetsuits and booties were available to rent ($7 & $3). At noon we boarded the bus and took a 45 minute drive up the river. The driver drove backwards across a bridge, at one point with NO HANDS! That takes talent. Once we got to our destination spot, we were greeted by our tour guides and water to drink. They provided string to tie your hat or sunglasses to your lifejacket so you wouldn't lose them. We were assigned to our boats and met our guides. Travis was our guide and he made the whole experience that much more awesome for a first timer. Once on the boats, our guide took the time to go over the paddling (forwards, backwards, left side, right side), and other general directions. Then we were off... And I must say, river rafting on this river is not as scary as I expected it to be. At times it was exciting, and at other times it was relaxing. For a first timer, it was the perfect mix. Overall a great experience! They took pictures and video. A cd-rom of the pics was $65 ($5 extra copy) and the dvd or the video was $50 ($5 extra copy). After about 2 hours of rafting we reached the camp site. Snacks (popcorn, check mix, chips, veggies) and drinks (sodas, wine) were served while we waited for the video dvd and pictures you be put together. During this time some of the guides were preparing dinner (tritip and chicken I belive) but we didn't stay for dinner. We didn't want to be driving on the windy road in the dark so we left after we got our video dvd. PS my whole body was sore for two days LOL But it was well worth it. So much fun and will be doing it again real soon! read more

We've been bringing a large group up every year except the last few due to lack of water. They are extremely professional. The guides are trained well and keep the trip fun. Rachel was our guide for the trip June 9. The food is well prepared. After the trip they show a DVD of the day's rafting highlights that is available for purchase. Happy hour offers unlimited wine and beer. The show is hilarious. You can pay an extra $20 and they will set up a tent so you can stay the night. My extended family came for the 1st time this year and now we are talking about making this an annual family get together with our children. It's a great value for the price. read more

KRE is an awesome adventure! Very professional and experienced guides..we had a blast! We had two delicious meals, one before the trip and one at the end with beer and wine.. Free tshirts and they photographed and videotaped our trip..will definitely be doing this again! We went in may water was 56 but air temp was 93 so no need for wetsuits.. Would recomend a rash guard, hat and lots of sunscreen. Rapids are better after a heavy rain and or a winter with a lot of snow..it was perfect for us! read more

Just returned from a two day trip. Trevor and his team made this a great adventure. It was our first time rafting and we had a great overall experience. The camp was clean, all the staff friendly, and their equipment was well maintained. The food was amazing. The only problem we had was the road getting there. It is not an easy trek in our motorhome with our tow vehicle. The cows are out an about which adds to the adventure of driving. read more

We thought with the drought this might not be the best experience but it was great! When you arrive for the one day trip you are greeted with snacks followed by a fajita lunch. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The river was fun since I had no idea how it was going to be. Plan to get wet. We had a great dinner and dessert afterwards. There is horseshoes to play. Think of it as a one day camping trip. You may want to take games or cards. There is not cell service. Have fun! read more

We had come here about 20 years ago and it was priceless. We recreated our trip and the rafting was excellent but the working crew was not. First of all there was chaos to where we could set up camp. When one of our members asked where we could camp, the person was neither helpful nor courteous. We found a great spot and the first night went smoothly. The second night our great spot was ruined when a RV set up directly behind us and ran its generator all day. So much for the nature sounds. I did ask a person that worked there if tents and RVs could be in the same place and he said it was ok. I told him that the generator was noisy and he replied that it was too bad. 20 years ago the workers helped make a talent show. This year the workers kept to themselves playing volleyball and drinking. That night we were woken up to two very drunk workers fighting over a female worker. Apparently the one of them had their belongings thrown from the bridge and using very colorful and loud language they got into a verbal as well as a physical fight. It was awful. Breakfast and lunch were great but the happy hour and dinner were awful also. One guide that stood out was Johnny. He was energetic and knowledgeable. read more

Omg, where do I start?! So my friend convinced me to join her & her Rec 83 Class (Fresno State) on a river rafting trip a few weeks ago & seriously, I had the best time ever!! When we arrived, we sat through a little orientation/safety talk and after we were provided with a wetsuit, wetsuit booties, a windbreaker & a life jacket. After changing, we all got into a bus & drove up the river to the put-in where we split into crews & got into rafts. I was super nervous about falling off the raft but our instructor (I believe his name was Justin/Jason...something with a J *if you see this review, sorry lol) was super chill & told me I could sit in front of him in case I fell off & he needed to save me LOL he took his time explaining all the paddling instructions and let us practice paddling stokes before hitting the rapids. The rapids were SO MUCH fun! The water was freezing but it felt so good when it would splash up against us. Our instructor even let us make 360's a few times lol It was a 10 mile raft ride down the river back to the campsite where we turned in our rafting gear & had the option to eat lunch, play volleyball & socialize. I would honestly recommend KRE to anyone looking into river rafting! Definitely planning a trip during their "white knuckle season" (: *& just an FYI...I didn't fall off the raft! Lol read more

Jeb, Julie and Casey: I wanted to take a few moments to thank you both and all the staff at KRE for making our rafting trip an AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Myself and all the kids thoroughly enjoyed the rafting, volleyball, horseshoes, ping pong, Foosball and of course the food! Our guide Casey made us all feel very secure and she provided some extras for us along the way -- doing 360s through the rapids and front loading the raft were extra fun activities and we could not have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back and in fact, the kids (since they are pros at rafting now) are talking about going to Class 4 rapids -- I think though I am fine with just sticking to the Kings river and KRE. The process of signing up was smooth, the directions to the river and initial set up were all very smooth and the emails were simple and user friendly. The safety instruction was simple and easy to remember and while on the raft Casey did an amazing job of keeping us focused yet sharing some of her experiences and chatting with all of us about vacations and swapping stories about adventures we had all taken. I should also point out that the food was very good and that all the staff was extremely friendly and we could tell that they genuinely loved what they were doing. Thanks for everything -- we will return next year! A couple of warnings: KRE is not for those who are into plush experiences -- the drive to the base is windy and slow going; the base camp is rustic -- although excellent bathrooms; the bus ride (45 minutes) is very bumpy and on a windy dirt road -- this is NOT a luxury bus with movies and AC. If you like adventure -- this is a GREAT experience!!! read more

I just returned from a 2 day Kings River Expedition trip and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. 5 of my buddies from high school and I decided we wanted to do something more adventurous for our 50th birthday. We kicked around a few ideas and settled on a white water rafting trip. KRE was recommended by a classmate who works there. Best recommendation ever! We arrived Saturday morning and were immediately greeted by their very friendly and helpful staff. I was a bit apprehensive at first but after going through their safety training and learning more about their safety record I was more at ease. Shortly after our arrival they fed us a delicious lunch, we boarded the bus and they drove us 9 miles up river to begin our adventure. Upon arriving at the river we were greeted by our guide George. He was nothing short of a true professional and boy did he know the river like the back of his hand. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us some pointers that kept us from going over board. I can't even begin to explain the feeling of being on a class 3 rapid with large swells and waves constantly pummeling the raft. My adrenaline was definitely pumping. We we arrived back at camp they were preparing a BBQ tri tip and chicken dinner. Day 2 was even more epic. The river was faster and the swells & waves were much larger. I decided I wanted to sit in the front which they referred to as the "splash zone" and boy were they right. We got drenched as we battled through the rapids. My buddies and I have always been tight and we always have each others back. This day was no different and I knew that I was in good hands. Sharing this experience with my friends was the highlight of the trip. All in all, this was an amazing adventure and I am very thankful to my friends, KRE, our guide George and KRE's amazing staff. Until next time! read more

I have organized a group to go almost every year for the past ten years. Didn't go the year I had heart surgery. The only bad thing about it is the winding road you have to take to get there. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is good and nobody leaves lunch still hungry. They always explain what to expect and what to do if something unusual happens. We have had exciting rafting trips every time we went. I have had a different guide every time I went, and I've never had a "bad" guide. They are all experienced and have good personalities. My son and I, and some friends go every year. Our group of annual rafters is getting bigger. Julie is excellent at taking and handling reservations. I know I have more than twice had to make last minute changes and she has always been understanding and helpful. We look forward to our next trip. read more

Went rafting for the first time this weekend and I had blast. This group has a true passion for what they do and its contagious. The rafting itself was just the right amount of adrenaline for a rookie such as myself. The campsite has games and plenty of food/drinks. After rafting you are even treated to happy hour. The staff are lots of fun and full of energy, definitely know how to get the guest excited. My 60 yr old mother was terrified to do the rafting but the guides were so patient and friendly that my mom survived (special shout out to our rafting guide George!!). This business is really top notch and would highly recommend them. They also did an outstanding job of taking pictures of our adventure, great memories to keep. Thank you for the amazing hospitality. read more

Highly recommend Kings River Expeditions to anyone planning their next water rafting trip. Justin (Jeb) the owner was great to work with in coordinating my group's reservation for the 10am trip, which included lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks and all-you-can-drink beverages. Our guide Steven was very knowledgable and made sure everyone was safe as we went through the river. The KRE team took pictures and videos of us throughout the rafting trip, so all of the moments were captured for us (available for purchase at very reasonable price). Everyone in the group had a blast, and would definitely consider coming back again for another trip. read more

Our family has been rafting with this company for years! The professionalism of the staff, quality of the equipment- even the great taste of the food keeps us coming back for more. JEB has developed this into a family must do adventure. This was the first year we brought our kids and they were pestering us the entire 400 mile drive home about when we could go back! Can't wait for next season- thank you KRE! And thank you Steve H for making the kids first trip such a blast! read more

So I went to kings river expeditions this past weekend and had a blast! Everything about it seemed perfect, including the food, place and more. However the staff is the best part other than the river, they are nice funny and helpful. The only downside to this place is getting there without a gps, especially if your foreign. But there directions on their website are perfect and helpful so if you pay attention it's easy. So if you want a fun trip with family and friends this is the place to go. read more

Was an awesome Mother's Day trip! Staff is friendly and professional. As my son would say "George the guide is bomb!" This was my first time but I want to go again. Photography was awesome memory that was worth the purchase. I did get carsick both ways so next time non drowsy Dramamine will be a companion. read more

History
Established in 1972.
Kings River Expeditions began taking YMCA kids down the Upper Kins River in 1972. The business and the industry grew over the years as the sport is fun and safe for people of all ages and abilities. Owner Justin Butchert started as a guide for the company in 1978 at the age of 18, and in 1981, purchased the business. Julie Butchert started guiding on the river in 1991 and Justin and Julie married in 1995 and have been running the business together since then.
Meet the Business Owner: Casey C.
After working as guides for KRE for 13 years, my wife Veronica and I were given the opportunity to continue the 50+ year legacy of fun in the sun and become owners of Kings River Expeditions. We jumped at the opportunity as this place has become a second home to us. Today we strive to meet the same service standards set by Justin and Julie B. over the past 45 years: fun, safe, and memorable white water rafting experiences the whole family can enjoy. It is our dream to continue stewardship of the Kings River and watch our three boys grow up here until they are ready to take on the role. If you have never rafted the Kings River, get some friends together and come join us! We'd love to see you on the river and promise a safe, exciting and memorable adventure!
Ask the Community - Kings River Expeditions
We absolutely love this company! Now that we have kiddos who want to raft with us, we'd like for them to wear helmets. Are helmets provided? Thanks!
Yes they provide helmets. Can also rent wetsuits & foot booties if needed or paddle jacket which mainly protects you from sun (skin works great). They only charge $5 to rent
How is the current water level? Any current concerns or drastic changes on the river? Is the water high enough to go through some great fun spots? Look forward to some trips.

A friend organized the event. It was about $200+ for us to camp two nights and raft one day. Our instructor was Casey and is phenomenal! Not only were we safe the entire (7) challenges, but at appropriate times, we were able to do tricks and show off to the rest of our group. The food was DELICIOUS. It was a total bummer that TWO of our thirteen boats capsized on a rock, thus delaying our entire group. Fortunately, the instructors are goofy and helped us make light of the situation. Oh and I forgot, they took AMAZE BALLZ pictures and video. I'm pleased that we were able to work on our cheers during the course of the rafting video. Yup, I'm a screamer. read more

KRE is a fantastic river rafting company and deserves more than 5 stars. They are well organized and have enthusiastic and friendly guides. They feed you and have everything ready for you, including tents for overnight trips. I really want to give a shout out to our guide Wyatt, not only a great guide but just an all around great guy. At the end of the trip our group felt like we'd made a real friend. He really made our river rafting experience super epic and fun. Thanks Wyatt!! read more

Wow! We had a fantastic adventure with KRE! We took our kids for their first time and they couldn't have enjoyed it more. Our guide, Trevor, was super sweet and was really patient with our kids. Our 7-year old daughter was a little frightened but after her first exciting rapid she was hooked! All of the staff are really professional and organized. They fixed us great meals and took some cool videos and pictures. We will definitely be going back! read more
