IF YOU SEE AN AD FOR THIS PLACE ON CRAIGSLIST, DO NOT TRUST THE PRICE YOU ARE GIVEN... Adam (the owner's son, I have been told) is very good at luring you in with a cheap price tag and "due to unforeseen circumstances" will raise the rent after you move in. We rented a lot here to park our RV. Upon moving in (In April) we had 2 dogs and signed a rental agreement to $400 per month all utilities included. In May we received notice that not only would the rent be going up, but we would also become responsible for our utilities on top of our base rent. The bills came in as follows; June $540, July $650, August $750. After the August bill, which was almost DOUBLE what our rental agreement stated as our rate my husband went in to chat with Adam (he was of course quite frustrated with the rate change). After my husband shared his grievances with Adam, a few days later we were informed that we were being evicted. Based on the grounds that we have "too many dogs". He claims he is evicting everyone in the park with more than one dog, however that is maybe 10 tenants or more including RVs and mobile homes alike, and no one I have spoken with has corroborated his decree. I believe we are being asked to leave based on the fact that we raised a stink about his rent hike. Sure the rules and regulations say that you can only have 1 dog, but until now that hasn't been a problem, and on top of that, our dogs are significantly more delightful than those yapping dogs who never stop barking across from the mail box. Not to mention all the tenants who have their dogs tied up outside who never get to come in the house. Anyways, I find it curious that most tenants are breaking at least two of every rule in the regulation packet and yet we have been singled out for our dogs, coincidently right after complaining about the price. If you want to live under the rule of an indecisive, un-honest snake, than by all means move here. If you have some sense of integrity in what people say, do not take him "at his word".
-We are not the only tenants to receive the rate hike, as several of my husband's coworkers also rent RV space in this park (we travel for work). Seems as though you can sway him into a cheaper price if you "do it the right way", from what we have heard.
-Also I would like to mention, when we moved in there was a couple managing the park for Adam, they were well liked. They did their best to address tenant concerns even though they have 2 children and were not nearly close to the top of the totem pole and lacked authority to make things any better. At the end of August they both quit their jobs here and left the park completely, after working and living here nearly 5 years they could no longer deal with Adam. Currently there is no new manager, and the lovely Adam himself has to occupy the front desk, instead of simply doing his usual "drive through".
_of course this is simply our opinion and based on our experience. We are more than happy to move and give our hard earned money to someone who stands on what they say. Just as we do. There are plenty of other mobile home parks in the area, who advertise a similar price, but don't change it after you move in. ADIOS! read more
