I recently visited Alpine Marketplace and unfortunately had one of the most frustrating shopping…read moreexperiences I've had in a long time. The store itself seemed organized and clean; however, what made the experience unpleasant was the interaction with a woman who claimed to be the store's regional manager Laurel. When I approached them to ask about product availability, I was met with an attitude that felt dismissive and uninterested. Instead of offering help or even a quick explanation, Laurel seemed irritated by my questions and gave short, unhelpful responses. It left the impression that customer concerns weren't important. While I understand that stores can have busy days and shortages, the lack of professionalism and courtesy from leadership is what ultimately pushed me to leave without completing my shopping. A manager sets the tone for the whole store, and in this case, the tone wasn't welcoming or supportive. I hope the store takes steps to improve customer service and organization, because right now it falls far below reasonable expectations.

That being said, I could only give Gorman's a 3 because they employ the most unhappy person who is rude, snarly and very unpleasant. I dread seeing her at the checkout lanes and will avoid her. She is unprofessional, mean and is a detriment to your business. I wouldn't still have my job if I acted the way I've been treated by her. I even had a conversation with another customer who witnessed her surliness and received the brunt end of it too. So it's not just me who experiences it. I thought at first that maybe it was just a bad day, but she is like this EVERY DARN TIME! The other ladies and gents at Gorman's are perfectly friendly and helpful. One bad apple spoils the bunch tho.

We went to the meat dept and found great prices. We picked up some store made brats, 2 lbs of hamburger and 2 NY strip steaks. The steaks were ok. Too much gristle and hidden fat on the bottoms hidden in the package. The brats literally made me sick. Several hours after eating one I became violently ill. The hamburger turned on the second day in our fridge. So basically we threw away 30.00. So much for saving money. The prices on things like rice was over a dollar more than at other stores. I'd say skip this place. It's not worth it.
