ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I clearly told them no carrots or extra vegetables in my shrimp and broccoli, and I specifically said I do NOT want white garlic sauce, I need brown sauce. She confirmed everything was handled. I get home, and my order is completely wrong, full of carrots and covered in white sauce. At that point I'm already frustrated because I paid for Uber there and back just to get messed up food. So I go back (another Uber), and I ask them to remake it fresh since the carrots were already mixed into everything. They say they will. Somehow the "remake" took 4 minutes... but the original order took 15. That already tells you everything. They did NOT remake my food. I tested it myself, I recognized the same piece of broccoli. They literally just reused the same food. There was barely any brown sauce, and it looked like they mixed it with the leftover white sauce from the first plate. On top of that, the food was bland and had no taste from the small piece I tried. I ended up throwing everything away. Didn't even bother arguing because it was clear they didn't care. ive been ordering from king chef for years, I've never had a problem, food is good, but today I ordered a quart of special fried rice which I order always and when they delivered it was a pork fried rice, I called them and they checked my order and I was right they messed up my order, but they said they couldn't do anything about it not helpful at all, basically I threw the whole thing away, being a good customer (I order at least twice a month) I don't think they handled this correctly. I will never order from there again the customer service is terrible read more

I got takeout from King Chef tonight and was disappointed with the food quality, which was worse than most of the Chinese takeout meals I've had. The sesame chicken was alright, but tasted worse with each additional piece. The drunken noodles were decent, but the ratio of noodles to other things could have been larger. The beef lo mein was the most disappointing of the items that I ordered, as it was very bland. The actual restaurant interior is similar to other Chinese takeout places that I've seen. The parking space in front is limited. Overall, King Chef was below my expectations for Chinese takeout food. If it weren't Christmas today, I probably wouldn't have gone here in the first place, and I most likely would've gotten a better meal. I do have to commend them for being open on Christmas though, as many other places were closed. If I had to choose between death by starvation and King Chef, I'd happily choose King Chef. read more

Well I'm still on the fence. I ordered the beef with Chinese vegetables. It was way too salty. I couldn't eat it. The egg drop or wonton soup both were flavorful. The fried won tons were good but the sauce was a little watery.the pork fried rice was decent. My husband ordered the honey garlic chicken and he said it was ok not great. The dining area has always looked clean whenever I've visited, the staff are always nice and exchange pleasantries with me, the food has always been fresh, hot and tasted great. None of my family members have ever complained when I picked up from there. I like the convenience of calling my order in, also. Today I ordered a quart of beef fried rice and when we stopped home for a second, my child asked his dad for some of the rice to take with him and he is making the yum yum yummy in my tummy happy food sounds while happily eating the food. This is my go-to place! I love my food saucy and they make it with enough sauce to eat with rice alone too (for next-day breakfast) :) . It's all so good. I don't have a picture of the Dumplings but they are AMAZING too! I've had the Beef Lo Mein, Shrimp Lo Mein, Veggie Lo Mein. The Szechuan shrimp is my all-time favorite!! But All are great. This is your "typical" small Chinese restaurant that is really designed for take out. Sure they have a couple of tables with chairs but the atmosphere is not for that. I had the Orange chicken as recommended by the young lady working the counter. I have to say indeed it was a great choice. There was plenty of chicken and the sauce was just right. The white rice was also very good. I ordered the special soup which turned out to be plain and flavorless, nothing a little bit of hot sauce cannot fix. Recently had seen this place and thought of giving it a try... so off for lunch on Friday we went. It was a group of 6 of us. The place is relatively new in the area. I believe it opened sometime this month. It is very small. There are a few chairs and tables but I believe it is mostly geared for delivery or pick up and go. Keep in mind there are only plastic utensils and paper plates. Let's say not a place for a hot date! And these you have to grab out of buckets yourself. Napkins are guarded and you have to request them. We did and were supplied 1 napkin per person (did thou have to ask for more and i do have to say they were provided) We had an assortment of dishes! Started with an order of Crab Rangoon ($4.95). Do have to say this portion was approx 6 or 8 (do not remember) thou they were smaller than the usual size i have had before in other establishments. Flavor was ok - like i said they were smaller and therefore made them crunchier than usual and ok in filling. ok in taste..served with traditional sweet & sour sauce. would order again. 1 order of fried wonton no meat ($2.75) these were crunchy as well and good flavor - also served with sweet & sour sauce. They offer 20 Combination Specials (same for lunch & dinner - difference is that for lunch only comes with Pork Fried Rice no soup nor egg roll - which are provided for dinner) ALL FOOD IS SERVED IN TAKE OUT CONTAINERS - YOU HAVE TO REQUEST PAPER PLATE AND SERVE IT YOURSELF ONTO IT Off of Lunch Portion Menu: Friend #1 - Ordered #14 Shrimp with Lobster Sauce - $6.50 - The shrimp were in a container with sauce separate from pork fried rice which came in a take out box. Me - Special Lo Mein - $6.50 - this was good as well. Two of us could of shared this plate. It did consist of more pork strips than any other of he offered meats (shrimp, chicken) but it was good. NOTE THOU: Friends 2 & 3 did request that instead of Pork Fried rice if they can have it 1 chicken and other ham fried rice and they were charged an extra $1.50 for this. (do not understand why since they are still getting only 1 meat - remove the pork and replace it with request - should not be charged extra - it is not extra meat - ITS A REPLACEMENT) Overall - this is a small place - NO FRILLS what so ever. I believe it is better to call for delivery or pick up - It is clean (new) service was basically only received when u place order - and then they bring it out to you - and that is that . There is no coke machine - no ice available - there is can/bottle soda, tea and water. If you want tab water you get it served at room temperature in a "sauce" Styrofoam cup. This is your typical take-out Chinese restaurant, although they do have a dining room with a few tables and chairs. I did eat there but will probably order out in the future. All the basics. It happens to be close to work and home so it's pretty convenient for me. I tried the shrimp with lobster sauce and pork fried rice lunch combo. It had good flavor, nice size portions and reasonable price. I only wish it came with a soup or egg roll. Very little parking. There's only three spaces plus a handicapped space for three restaurants in the same shopping center (Subway and Big Tomato are neighbors). But street parking is usually easy to come by. read more

This is definitely one of the better chinese takeout places in the area. They're food tastes fresh, they're super nice, and they're delivery is fast. The dinner combinations can easily feed two people. I order at least twice a month from king chef and everything I've had has been very tasty. The parking situation is what's annoying if you dine in. There are literally four parking spaces right in front... but you could always park in Milams. I am not sure if your car would get towed away. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!! We would order from here in the past, the food had fallen off progressively. This place was definitely scary. First of all the food is nothing to talk about. Today was a holiday and since every place was closed we decided to try to give them one more shot. Well we called in an order which is our regular order, and none of the prices matched what's on the menu on the website. What should have cost $30 was quoted at $51. When I questioned the young lady about the prices all she could say was maybe the prices changed. But they added a delivery charge and it would take 75 minutes to deliver. I called back and canceled within seconds. Less than a minute later a man called back telling me he was the manager and the chef told him my order was ready. He needed to know if we still wanted it. This place sucked the big one today I have eaten here a couple of times in the past it was close by and the food was ok until today had special fried rice which had a burnt flavor with that I had an order of egg rolls they were super greasy and flavorless with the grease and burnt flavor I had the boneless ribs the only thing that had an ok flavor well safe to say will never ever eat there again of the 3 people that ate what they could of the food only one could keep it down then when I called to complain they blew me off and hung up twice there resolution was to send me another order of rice I don't think so eat there at your own risk read more
