808-373-7461 (Fax) E-Mail: info@kingscathedral.com Just because I am vacationing in Oahu, Hawaii does not mean I forget to nurture and soothe my soul! So, I attend church here heading towards North Shore. I like this church because this church holds awesome block parties serving Hawaiian delectably delicious food concocted by Oahu Locals. As my deceased Father used to say: Ya wanna know about the true Hawaii? Ya gotta hang out with the Locals! I truly take my Father's advise to heart because the Locals KNOW where to go for everything. Here are the services scheduled at this church location: Worship Services Sunday 11:00am Sunday 6:00pm - Live feed from Maui Tuesday 7:30 pm Sunday School Classes 9:30am | Upper Room Youth &Young Adult Classes Sunday, 11:00am Friday, 6:00pm Sonshine Company Children's Ministry Sunday, 11:00am Marshallese Service Sunday, 1:00pm In the Upper Room I must admit that Senior Pastor, Dr. James Marocco and his wife are the coolest people you ever want to meet. Should you find yourself in a bind while vacationing in Oahu and you need a Local's help, please do not hesitate to give Dr. James Marocco a call! FYI: If Dr. James Marocco is not there because he may be in Maui, please contact Anne Fuji, Senior Associate Pastor who is also a realtor for the Island of Oahu should you need help searching for a home to buy. O=;-) Please tell Anne I sent you! BTW: This same church is located in Maui in front of Wal-Mart by the airport, too.

From the moment you step in until the moment you leave, you will feel such a warm & welcoming atmosphere!! My husband and I moved to island and were in search of a church, then we found KC!! This place is home away from home. Everyone there is super kind and loving. It's super easy to get connected into God's presence and find people that you'll love! The church has been a blessing to my family and I, and will continue to attend. I recommend you give it a visit and pray you'll love it as much as we do! We have been blessed with amazing people who are now family to us! So thankful for this place.

I love this church. I was baptized catholic as a child, but never stayed in church. I strayed far from GOD for a long time. Recently I found myself wanting to reconnect and strengthen my relationship with GOD and to find a church that made me feel like a belonged and could come there without judgment of my past and having been out of church for so long. A friend of mines took to me King's Chapel Niu Valley a few months ago. And I've been going ever since. I've even join a young adults life group and I have been bringing my grandmother to church with me for about a month now and we both love it so much. I live in the pearl city/aiea area and when I tell some people that I drive all the way to the Hawaii Kai area for church they are shocked. They say things like how come you don't find a church close to home? Why would you drive so far? And my answer to that is 1) No drive (especially on a island as small as Oahu) is too far to worship the lord as Jesus died in the cross for our sins, so his love for us had no limitations and driving a little farther ain't worth limiting my reach and love for our lord and savior. 2) When you find somewhere that you feel like is home, is your safe place for worship, that you feel called to speaking for myself I don't see myself wanting to look elsewhere. From the first service I went to King's Chapel Pastor Josh Marocco spoke some serious life onto everyone in the church and for myself personally I felt like - wow I was really meant to be here hearing these words in this moment now. Each service they we worship in song, scripture and they ask everyone of the church if you need a miracle whether it be in finances, healing, breakthrough, etc. you just raise your hand and one of the many ministering pastors will pray over you. Which I loved so much and my first few services my eyes flooded with tears which is okay. When service was over Pastor Shannon Marocco greeted my so warmly. I had explained to her that I strayed away for years and am on my journey to finding my way back. And with no of hesitation or judgment she accepted me, loved me and prayed over me once more and as I received those blessings, I could feel the Holy Spirit passing through me. Such an amazing anointed place to be!!! So if you're looking for somewhere to reconnect or just continue to worship King's Chapel is definitely a place to be!!! The heart for our church is unlike any other we've been to and that's why after 4 years we still call Vive Church our home. Be part of a church that can outlast a pandemic and can build more faith over fear. Our local pastors and global pastors are all about lifting each other up and building community. I love it because there are so many different ways to serve and that's one thing we are definitely good at. But again the heart why we do everything is something only you will learn by stepping in faith and joining a team to serve and build church. Vive Church is so special to us because I see how my 2 year old son is now worshipping with us and praying with us and just see his faith growing right before our eyes. We have a ROYAL KIDS program that teaches them so much about growing in their faith that it's hard for him to leave every Sunday because he loves it so much. I can't say how much I love the people at Vive and can't wait to meet more of you who are still looking for a church. We hope to meet you soon! Much Aloha!!! - The Dayaos

They have three screens (modern church), live music with singers, and a Christmas presentation where children were dancing to religious Christmas music. They also had "fake snow" fall from the ceiling for a part of it. In addition, there is ample and free parking. A whole parking lot is dedicated toward this church on Sunday. The holiday sermon was about 2 hours long from 11 am to 1 pm. It was a lengthier mass I've been to, but it was definitely enjoyable!

However, what really turned me off was during today's service when a message from Donald Trump played and Pastor Kuna commented on how blessed we are to have a president that loves God then proceeded to sing God Bless America. I come to church to learn about God and build my relationship with him, not to listen to Trump speak or sing about America. I shut it off after that and I will be finding a new church to attend. After Trump shared those blasphemous images of himself around Easter, I can't support any church that thinks it's OK to bring him into the church. Church and politics should not be linked together. Other than that, I also feel like the church is too heavy on tithes and offerings. Giving isn't wrong, but it feels too pressured by this church. I can overlook that, but I can't overlook politics being in the church. We don't have to agree on politics, but it just shouldn't be talked about in church, not even a little.

My childhood consisted of being send from relatives to relatives, who says they love me and also got rid of me when they didn't want me. I spend my whole life looking for my identity and everywhere I turned to hurts me. When pastor says my identity IS in Christ, and expounded on that, well, I am FINALLY free from this lifelong burden. I've valued those words through the years as I've moved around and sought a church to plug into. What I can say about New Hope Manoa is that I've met a lot of great people who genuinely try to love others, and I find the teaching to be biblically based. I love the kupuna (elders) who try their best to model faithfulness and kindness. The worship is not flashy, but heartfelt. I especially appreciate when the youth lead worship or when a single aunty is on stage with a guitar because she wants to help people connect with Jesus. Pastor Rod helps the church not just understand scripture, but try to live it out. He has a heart of a shepherd, whether visiting someone who is sick or texting someone who hasn't been around in a while to check in. I love the "Show God, Share Aloha" ministry that helps people with food, utilities, health needs, etc. Every church has its problems like my mentor said 20 years ago, but the goal is to try to be more like Jesus in humility and love. And I see that in many people at New Hope Manoa. Services are Sundays at 9:30am at the auditorium at Mid-Pac in Manoa. Lots of parking available! Dress up or wear a tank top and board shorts. Either way, people will try to welcome you well.
