They are very child friendly and provide high chairs, and they are also very very friendly with smiley happy waiting staff who are even patient with my children who change their minds several times before they let them escape! There is also a large car park for ease of parking, small space out the front with chauirs for summer al fresco dining. And for kids they have a slide, monkey bars, zip wire and other bits and pieces of kids play equiptment. For adults they also do a great new Years Eve evening, with this year it being a local comedian who also sings and does karaoke. Well worth a visit especially for the food!!

The Smugglers Den Inn is a 16th century thatched inn with family, beer garden, childrens play area and ample parking. The beer garden is where we like to crash and relax. While the kids play on the apparatus we chill with a ool drink in the sun and order from the menu full of lovely food and they always have plenty of specials on the board all made using the freshest local ingredients. It is situated in a little village called Trebellan, near Cubert, less than than 15 minutes from Newquay. You approach down a steep, high sided road which is typically Cornish and the pub is right before you and very welcoming. They have regular live entertainment and also have an annual Real Ale and Pie Festival which is is it's 9th year. It's definitely worth pulling off the beaten track and seeking it out for a refreshing treat.

The Crown Inn is a very special place on so many levels. It is the 2nd oldest pub in Cornwall…read more(1100's!). It has charm and character for days, from the cozy fireplace in the bar, to the low beamed ceilings, to the inviting outdoor courtyard filled with flowers, and tables with umbrellas. The rooms are extremely well appointed and no detail has been spared. The beds are extremely comfortable and the pillows and linens are top quality with William Morris fabric. The pub fare is great and breakfast in the morning was plentiful and delicious! To top it off, the owners Tim and Jos are so warm, welcoming and accommodating that you will leave feeling like family. The Crown Inn's location in Lanlivery is a great base for touring many favorite spots in Cornwall including The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and many of the charming fishing villages nearby including Polperro!

We did have a drink in the pub a few days earlier, when we enjoyed the local beers, and the bar staff were very welcoming and friendly, as they were again today. When we enquired about having dinner, the bar staff went to check and then took us into a room immediately behind the bar. It was a lovely room where we had a corner table. There was a door leading to, I presumed, the conservatory dining area and the gardens beyond. The menu was printed on an A4 sized paper back to back. There was actually a lot of choice. For a bistro, I feel the prices were a little on the high side, but reasonably priced as a normal restaurant. Our meal was fresh and well cooked, and the service was prompt and pleasant and friendly. Overall a nice enough place to dine out in.

Its a rare find out of its bottle. It has a very nice caramel flavour and is a quite strong 6pc. When I fancied something weaker there was the always excellent Proper Job, so even though I liked the place so much I came back on 3 consecutive nights I still didn't get to any of the other beers (Bass, Tribute and Trelawny).
