We've been holidaying in Holywell Bay for about 9 years and we love it. There is a path from the campsite that ambles down to the beach and it passes this lovely pub.
When we first arrive it's the place we go down to to relax and unwind after a long drive.
In recent years they have paved over and smarted up the garden to cater better for the lunch crowd in the summer. Sittting in the sun sipping one of their traditional ales is great - I like the Cornish Cream which I can only find here.
During long summer days on the beach we pile all our stuff into the beachtent and stroll to the pub for a nice lunch and a pint.
It's not a fancy place, or a theme pub, or a place full of louts but a relaxing drinking hole where you don't mind taking the kids (there are play facilities).
Bond fans note the early scenes in the film 'Die Another Die' were filmed on Holywell Bay and the pub was used by cast and crew.
You can park in their car park for free if using the pub or £3 for the the day for beach visitors. Alternatively there is a National Trust car park 50 yards away.
