Part of me wants to have another baby, just so I can send them back to Mila and Cuqui's…read more We were part of Ms. Mila's daycare for five years in a row, and closing that chapter of my family's life has been one of the hardest goodbyes I've ever had to say. Ms. Mila and her husband Mr. Cuqui took care of both my children--my youngest from the time he was an infant until he recently transitioned to TK. They are some of the best caregivers I have been lucky to meet, and they are organized, efficient, and dependable in how they run their home daycare. If you are a new parent and unsure of whether a nanny, preschool, or something in between will be the most ideal for your child, Ms. Mila's truly blends the best of them all. The home-based environment provides that casual, family-like touch that is so good for the little ones' development and helps builds important human connections at an early age. At the same time, Mila and Cuqui integrate lots of intentional teaching, play, art, and activities on a daily basis that engage the children in foundational learning and skills-building. Both my kids learned to read at an early age, which I attribute to the help of the consistent attention and teaching they got here. On top of it all, Mila and Cuqui know how to make things fun--they celebrate holidays, birthdays, and occasional family gatherings, not to mention they take some enviable, much-deserved vacations and camping trips on their time off! I admire these providers greatly in how they live and run a business, and I truly loved and will miss sending my kids to them alongside all of their daycare friends. If you are lucky to secure a spot at Ms. Mila's, your family is SET.

I could'nt be more satisfied with our decision to send out daughter to Meeta's Daycare. Our daughter felt like it was her second family, she made some close friends and it has felt effortless for us so far. Meeta's daycare also provides hot home cooked lunches everyday with pizza parties now and then and our daughter loves them. If we have more kids, we know where we will send them to! This review has been long overdue. It's been three months since my daughter last attended Happy…read moredaycare, and just today while we were playing, she suddenly said, "Hurry up!" -- the first time I've ever heard her say that. I assumed it was something her new teachers say, but she quickly corrected me: "No, no, Andrea says hurry up!" She then went right back to playing, laughing and calling out, "hurry up hurry up!!" That moment alone speaks volumes about how much Andrea means to my daughter. She started at Happy daycare when she was just 1.5 years old. As a first-time mom, I cried on her first day, and Arti sat with me, gently reassuring me that we just needed to give her time to build trust. I can't express how much it meant knowing they understood this was her first time away from home. Within a week, the tears stopped. On her last day, I was the one still in tears because Andrea wouldn't be caring for my little girl anymore. Andrea is incredibly kind and patient. She cared for my daughter with so much warmth that even on weekends, my little one would ask to go see her and this happened more times than I can count. I never had to worry about food it was all taken care of at the daycare. During a medical emergency with my daughter, both Andrea and Arti stayed with her until I arrived, then remained by my side as we figured out the next steps. My daughter still misses Andrea to this day, and I know she will for a long time.

My daughter joined this day care (the one run by Andrea) when she was 14 months old. She was there…read morefor 4.5 months. Here is our honest review Pros: 1. The day care is pretty large. They have several rooms, a patio and a large backyard with several toys and play stations. Separate nap room with cribs is one of the main reasons we sent our daughter here. 2. They feed 3 meals + 2 snacks in a day. Note that snacks are mostly something small like crackers, pretzels, cheese sticks etc. Meals typically include oats, pasta, cheese quesadillas, paratha, idly, rice, some dal variant with veggies etc. 3. My daughter went in and came home happily every day. She started speaking and kept asking for her friends in the day care even during the weekends. Cons: 1. The kid to caretaker ratio promised is misleading. For more than half the time my daughter went here, we did not see any other care taker other than Andrea, based on the pictures we were sent and after taking to multiple kid's parents. For eg, if there are only 6 kids in certain days/weeks, likely it is run by just Andrea. They don't always honor the ratio. Caretakers are rotated across the other day cares they have. In a center-based day care, ratio is always maintained whether or not some kids are on leave. That is not done here. 2. The main reason we preferred a home based day care as opposed to a center based one is - home based day cares can be more intimate. More attention towards every kid. All other home based day cares that we tried for have several themed weeks, festival celebrations, kid's birthday celebrations, farewell parties, parents meet n greet etc. Do not expect any such things here. They do the basic care taking. 3. My daughter came home several times with food dried up on her face. They may not be cleaning up promptly and thoroughly after meal times. Overall, it's a decent day care that tends to kids well.

My child has been growing with Ms. Doan and NEST for two years now, officially! The transition from…read more1:1 nanny care to a group setting was not easy to overcome for my then 2.5yo but Ms. Doan did make the transition easier for all of us as we continue to see our child grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a sense of comfort that instantly put all our nerves at ease. If you choose to take a tour you will see current children in their natural environment. Ms. Doan and her amazing staff are kind, caring, enthusiastic, and always find a lesson to teach with every dynamic interaction or situation. Rest assured that your child will blossom at NEST with Ms. Doan, the team, and all other like-minded families wishing for the best and safest childcare options in South San Jose.

We cannot say enough good things about Doan and her program. Our kids went to a well-run preschool…read morebefore we discovered NEST, and although that was a good option, the quality of care, ratio, teaching philosophy both academics and learn through play as well as life skills provided by NEST are far more exceptional than I could ever expect in a preschool. Like most parents, we had reservations in general about in-home child care. Before knowing about her school, we got to know Doan through a neighborhood group and through our relationship learned how kind and reliable she is as a person. From a profession standpoint, Doan has a Master degree in Child Development and had experience teaching at Stratford and other well established schools. The business is fully licensed. We had a tour and interview in December 2022 when my son was 2.5 years old, and the rest was history. A day at Nest starts with circle time, a walk to a nearby park where they get to spend plenty of time outdoor, play on the playground (I have a smile on my face every time I think of the image of our kids and their friends holding hands walking to the park together), when there's rain they get to put on little rain coats and play in the puddle, or make homemade cookies, smoothies and enjoy together, or other times they get to do gardening and learn about butterflies, bees, and pollinators. She teaches the kids to appreciate and protect the earth and the environment. They celebrate different cultures and develop kindness towards one another. Doan also invites each family to a private Facebook group where we get to see photos of the kids and their activities each day. This is the best part for me, as I look forward to seeing what my kids are doing while away from them. I often say to Doan, I wish I had a childhood full of experience and memories like these little kids. Doan's teaching philosophy is learn through play, and if that's what you are looking for, you are going to love NEST. Doan pays a lot of attention to the development of each child. My son barely talked when he started at NEST, he had troubles with certain pronunciation and to bear on the safe side, Doan made sure she informed me timely to check with his physician. Today, he is a confident 5 year old boy who is well prepared to start his next chapter at grade school. We are grateful for NEST and I am sure it will be one of the best decisions you'll make for your child.

Run & Fun is one of those rare places that leaves a lasting mark on your family…read more We found Run & Fun through a recommendation from a mutual friend, and all three of our children started there at just six months old. Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate that they did. Our eldest was born during COVID and spent the first six months of her life with very little interaction outside our immediate family. She has always been a sensitive child and naturally hesitant in unfamiliar environments, so I was especially nervous about leaving her somewhere new. But Erika and Carlos had an incredible way of making her feel safe from the very beginning. She connected with them almost immediately, and before long, Run & Fun had become her happy place. She loved going there so much that leaving at the end of the day was sometimes a full-on emotional event! She would cling to Erika's neck and cry because she didn't want to go home. That says more than any review ever could. She wasn't simply comfortable there. She felt loved, secure, and completely at home. And when our two younger children joined, they developed that same special bond with Erika and Carlos. What makes Run & Fun extraordinary is, above all, the people. Erika and Carlos are truly exceptional human beings. They are warm, patient, generous, and incredibly attentive, but most importantly, they have a natural gift for understanding and caring for children. The love they give isn't something you have to wonder about. You see it in the way the children run to them, trust them, and simply feel happy in their presence. They also put so much thought into every aspect of the children's day. Carlos prepared fresh, delicious food that my kids absolutely loved, and Erika made learning fun and engaging, introducing them to letters, numbers, and early learning in such a natural way. By the age of three, our eldest recognised all letters and numbers (in English and Spanish) and could write her own name. And they always came home with the sweetest little pieces of art and crafts. I still have a box full of them, and they are some of my favourite keepsakes from those years. When we moved away, I honestly cried. It was incredibly difficult to leave a place where I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that my children were loved and cared for so deeply. As a parent, finding people you trust completely with your children is priceless, and saying goodbye to that was incredibly hard for me. Even though we've moved and all three of my children are now in school, Erika and Carlos are still such a meaningful part of their memories. They still talk about them and remember their time at Run & Fun so fondly. We haven't been back to the area yet, but they keep talking about wanting to see Erika and Carlos the next time we're in town. And one of the sweetest things is that Erika and Carlos still remember every birthday and they always call to wish my children a happy birthday. I cannot recommend Run & Fun highly enough. If you're looking for someone to care for your children, you aren't just choosing a daycare. You're choosing the people who will shape a meaningful part of their earliest years. We could not have asked for better people to be part of ours. I will always be grateful that our paths crossed with Erika and Carlos. Run & Fun will forever be a very special chapter in our family's story, and Erika and Carlos will always have a special place in our hearts.

I've been with the daycare for over 7yrs. I couldn't possibly cover all the ways I'm grateful for…read morethem so I'll list a handful. First, they are the embodiment of dependability. Even through the pandemic, they only closed down once when Carlos tested positive for Covid. Outside of that, they were able to stay open the whole time. They are super cautious when it comes to really infectious stuff like hand foot and mouth disease, but they won't be calling you because of a runny nose and a simple cough. In the end it's really just a handful of families they work with who all have similar attitudes and priorities and that makes a huge difference. They are not just watching the kids. Erika takes great pains to ensure there are engaging and enriching activities for these young ones every single day. They talk to them in both English and Spanish but they don't force it. Every child picks up as much or as little as they want and their preferences are acknowledged and nurtured. My oldest is a math and science guy while the younger one is more of an athlete and a performer and they both loved their time here. Every parent I've talked to has something to say about the food. It's healthy, it's homemade and magically, they can get all the kids to eat their vegetables. You can literally give your child a glass of milk for dinner and that would be enough calories for the day. Finally, I can't guarantee some results, but my oldest was actually reading by the time he left for Kindergarten. I know some of it is down to nature, but it still takes amazing nurturing to bring out such remarkable results. Oh I almost forgot, Run and Fun is the best value for money you can find in Silicon Valley, I guarantee it!!!
