Beware of dealing with MR. ROOTER PLUMBING in West Kelowna! My garden tap was leaking and I…read morecontacted Mr. Rooter to get a quote to fix the leak. They sent Ryan Simpson to stop by on his way home on Friday, May 16th. I have security camera videos showing his time of arrival and departure. As soon as Ryan arrived, we walked to the back of the house and he checked the tap and said that nothing was broken, but he replaced a small part that was bent. He said it was an easy fix and muttered something about $24... which I assumed was the cost of the part. He then sat down on my front steps and pulled out his card reader and I handed him my Credit Card. He then asked me to insert my password, which I did. I asked him for a copy of my bill as I needed to know the amount before I paid. He said he could not give me a copy of the invoice but it would be sent to my computer. I went into the house to see if it had arrived and was shocked not only at the amount charged for a ten minute "easy fix" job but, but, more important, what was written at the bottom of the invoice. On May 16, 2025, at 5:21PM, Mr Rooter Plumbing -noreply+844377@servicetitan.com wrote: "I agree to the initial price of $205.53 as quoted prior to the start of work..." When I checked the time on my computer when the invoice had been sent to me by e-mail, it showed that it had been received on my computer at 5.21 p.m. This proves that the bill was sent to me AFTER PAYMENT WAS PROCESSED. I had NOT agreed to the price of $205.53 PRIOR to start of work! In fact, at no point had I been told what the cost would be! The bill had been received on my computer at 5:21 p.m. as indicated on my computer. Ryan Simpson left my house at 5:21 p.m. as indicated on my security camera, so the payment would have been processed a few minutes earlier, PRIOR to the bill being sent. I immediately went back outside to speak to Ryan Simpson, but he had already left. He had activated my payment BEFORE I had been sent the bill so the statement that "I agree to the initial price of $205.53 as quoted prior to the start of work..." is a blatant lie. I phoned Mr. Rooter right away and left a message to contact me. My phone call was returned the following day and when I complained about not having been given a copy of the bill or told the price before receiving the bill, the woman at Mr Rooter started screaming at me and slammed the phone down.

He changed the seal and scrubbed the tile grout around the toilet so it looked nice and clean. The bill was only $95 total including the new seal. If you're seriously considering hiring ACE, I urge you to get everything they promise you in the…read morequote, including any warranty, claims of savings, free inspection, and, importantly, how the new furnace or AC unit size was calculated so you'll have something to use in court as evidence! In my case ACE tossed in an undersized furnace and ran. The installer told me ACE never did a load calculation (manual J) on my home because my ductwork couldn't support the extra airflow required by the correctly sized high-efficiency furnace. ACE just matched the CFM of my old furnace with the closest Carrier high-efficiency furnace regardless of the BTU size so my ductwork wouldn't be an issue. Sneaky! ACE never properly installed the furnace because it will quickly overheat and shut down if I try using anything but the cheapest, lowest-grade filter. Now I'm stuck with an undersized furnace that's less efficient than my 47 year old working furnace was. Worst of all, ACE doesn't care! Horrible customer support! The owner told the court the installation along with the commissioning sheet passed inspection, so the furnace was correctly sized. He also told the court the salesman no longer works for the company, so he has no idea how the furnace was sized. All lies! He even said it was my fault for accepting the quote. Now that's a company you can count on! If it's not in the quote you sign, don't hire them! Zero stars!

We had our 10 year old furnace crap out during a cold snap. We had a tech come out to the house to…read morelook at it (not from Ace). He was able to set it so we could used only the heat pump while the lart was on order. When he returned several weeks later to replace the part, he discovered much more damage, and informed us that there was a class action suit against Carrier (the brand of our unit), and in order to have Carrier replace it, we had to get a Carrier authorized dealer to do the work. We called Ace, and while explaining the situation, the receptionist argued with us about there being a class action suit regarding this piece of equipment. Since we had looked it up already and found it to be true, we knew she was wrong. She finally gave us the phone number to call Carrier directly, which we did, and they confirmed what we already knew. We should have called elsewhere right then, but we called Ace back, and proceeded to argue a little longer with the receptionist. After being transferred back and forth between the manager and the receptionist 3 more times, and her attitude not improving, we hung up and called elsewhere. Save yourself a scathing by the receptionist from hell... go somewhere else. Anywhere else I would think, and you will be much better served.
