Everything I look for in one location and is right off Hwy 280 at, surprise, the Westborough Blvd exit. The area is usually clear of trash and debris which is nice. People don't litter or the owner have the property taken care of well. Also, two gas stations and a major fast food chain are adjacent. Note the parking and lanes are tight and can get filled up quickly on weekends.

The roommate and I swung by on Sunday, August 13th around 3:15pm. We started at Paris Baguette. I love bakeries. Especially self serve type ones like Paris Baguette. Though this location didn't seem to have as much variety as other locations I've been to. Also, service was a little weird as they gave us an extra item we didn't order. We didn't realize until we got home, so we spent a little more than we had intended. Since we didn't have dinner plans, we decided to grab some chicken from Bonchon. It was relatively slow as we were there between lunch and dinner. I do love their chicken. It's crispy and very flavorful. Though our sides weren't very good. The kimchi slaw tasted old and off. We ended up throwing that away. They have more random shops such as my namesake restaurant Ng's Cooking, an AT&T store, etc. For some reason, my cell phone data wasn't working at Bonchon, so I guess it would have been convenient to just stop by AT&T next door. Though it started working once we left Bonchon, so maybe it's just a dead spot? Decent little shopping plaza. I never really get down this way, but if I'm craving chicken, Bonchon will do the trick!

It will no longer be the outdated neighborhood strip mall where time stood still, as it's currently being redesigned and rebranded. Moved Out: The Plaza is former home to Pacific Supermarket, One Hour Cleaners, and Goldilock's Bakeshop, all of which have relocated to Westborough Square on Gellert Blvd. Moving In: Red Ribbon Bakeshop closed their San Bruno location and is relocating here to Westborough Hills Plaza. Open During Construction: Kragen Auto Parts became O'Reilly Auto Parts a few years back. Conveniently, they remain open through the Plaza's changes. Their El Camino store doesn't always have what I need so it's nice to have this Callan store as a close alternate. New Market: Gone are the smelly old days of the dilapidated Island Pacific Supermarket. Currently under construction as Phase I. is the new anchor, Seafood City (a Filipino supermarket chain in the United States with branches in California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington). I'm highly anticipating their 1st location here in the Peninsula. My mom and I won't have to trek across the bridge for hard-to-find specialty items much longer! New Restaurants: Welcomed additions to South City will include new (fast food) restaurants such as Grill City and Chow King. Spring 2016 is the scheduled opening of Jollibee's most contemporary State-side restaurant right here. Now we'll have 3 Jollibee's in a 7 mile radius, 1 for each Target store :) They'll all be perfect, quick solutions to hectic midweek dinners when we're too pooped to cook. The Gist: With 7,000 sq. ft. of retail space being built on the north corner of Callan & Meath, Phase II will include plenty more shops in the revamped Plaza. Time to make new memories, with my next generation in tow. Welcome Back, Kotter!

Too much going on with so little parking. Great mix of pinoy restaurants and businesses, though.read more

But it's really hard when you don't put up any basic signage to identify businesses. A visitor should be able to see what might be of interest. I'm guessing the place just got a major upgrade, because it looks modern and nice. Maybe you haven't had time to hire a sign contractor. Each storefront looks alike! Big parking lot, near the freeway. Could be a lot better.

BTW, I heard the current rate of $.75 per square foot they are current renting business space at does come with some risk. Lots of space still open when I visted today. Rentals seem to be conducted as month-to-month only due to the desire to bulldoze and convert the property to more commercial housing. Cannot say I blame them since the rental market is strong right now and the views of the ocean when it is not foggy or overcast are pretty terrific from this location. But if a conversion is performed then the whole area will loose out on one aspect that give this part of Pacifica its unique charm and attractiveness.
