It's a very clean park, well maintained and the people you meet are nice too. My dog enjoys going to the park. They have separate sides for large and small dogs with agility equipment and clean water fountains in both sides. They also have nice seats and a shade with a picnic table for the people as well. This park is actually a really nice however the amount of poop there is ridiculous. I blame the owners of the dogs that go there. I went there three times this week and thankfully those that were there actually paid attention to their dog and picked up after them. But it obvious not everyone is courteous like that by the amount of poop there. Our shoes were caked in mud and poop. I realize people go to not only socialize their pets, but owners need to watch their pet(s) and see what they are doing. I actually picked up others poop because there were a lot of fresh poop there when we got there (we were the only people there at the time). I'm not sure we would go back. While I was there, others told me about Dakota Park (Brentwood) and Koda Dog Park (Oakley). read more

I do not care much for this dog park. A lot of the owners let their dogs poop on the grass and then look away to act as if they didn't see anything. As for the responsible owners that DO...the trash can is right at the entrance, so if it has been a busy day then you will be able to smell it. The grass is in sad shape and floods for the first few months of the year. I understand that this is a dog park not the Hilton but I have two big dogs and would prefer less mud on them or in my truck. Cool little dog park. They have the usual "Big" dog park and "small dog" park areas. It's a fenced in area part of the nicely maintained King Park. Our little boxer loves it there and usually gets nice and tired on after playing with her buddies. We always find very friendly and sociable fellow pet owners to chat with while the dogs play. Hey! We've even swapped a couple of tips and ideas both breed specific and general. Some hygienically challenged owners leave dog poop at times but overall it's a very well maintained park. The grass is kept cut and luscious green and a cleaning crew picks up the nasties of the aforementioned "dirty birdies." There is a station with bags and a rake and pan for cleaning after your doggie. There is also the standard water fountain and a few bowls (for those inclined to have their dog share) to quench your pet's thirst. I originally gave a 4 but had to drop a star due the frequent dog poop droppings we see inside and outside the park. This lack of respect makes it just okay and not so great after all. It's good to have a good park to take your dog pet to for nice play time and to make friends. read more

Very dissapointed in this dog park. No small dog area and the owners seemed more into chit chatting rather than making sure their dogs were behaving. With all the humans busy socializing of course no one could be bothered to clean up their dogs doo- doo. One dog ganged up on my 15lb poodle mix. After yanking the rather large Boxer off her the owner didn't even bother saying sorry. Actually on the way out she made the remark that it happened because my dog resembles a stuffed toy. The nerve! Skip this place and try Newhall dog park in Concord. The park itself is a little hard to find because you wind through a neighborhood to get there. The park, its grass and its sidewalk paths are nice. They are well maintained and have plenty of bags along the way if your dog has something to take care of and you are out of doggie bags. It's a nice neighborhood so you can feel safe walking there. The dog park, however, was not for us. It is grass covered and offers water fountains for the dogs, but it is one large fenced-off area. My little dog was overwhelmed and stayed around the perimeter. The other dog with us was larger and got along great with the other large dogs, but there were not a lot of small dogs there and it's probably because of the single section. read more

So much poop everywhere...so disgusting! I've never been to such a dirty park! I used to clean up poop at the last park I went too because sometimes it's missed, bit this park.....there were more than 15 LARGE poops....and squished poops in the turf....yuck!!! read more

Another beautiful day at the park with my little angel. This time around Maggie had a doogie play date with my good friends' babies Titan & Tessa. As soon as we entered the gates, Maggie was off and running with the big dogs. She did her usual snap turtle routine but knocked that off sooner than before. Titan & Tessa were interested in Maggie for the sole fact that she looked like a little pork sausage with legs or at least I would imagine with their voracious looks. We didn't stay long this time around due to the Amazonian Sun making my sweat glands dance the jig. Overall it was yet again a great time and more social graces for Maggie. read more

I love this dog park for my dogs. The only problem with the park us too much mud/dirt in the winter and not enough shade during the summer. The only trees are far off to the side, so the dogs are never able to rest in a cooler location. I think this dog park is safer than the one in Pittsburg. The people that come to this park are nice and conscientious of their dogs - for the most part. As long as you actively watch your dog then everything will go great. I love that there are human and doggie water fountains at this park. There are. Also plenty if doggie drinking bowls, which is great. If you want to actually walk your dog on the leash, there are plenty of paved paths to walk in the park or going through the park. read more

This dog park is by far the best in the surrounding area. It has both a big/small area for the dogs, which mine really enjoy. I appreciate the fact that people respect that for the sake of the little ones. I do wish the smaller side was a little bit bigger, it is quite small and can fill up pretty quickly. Owners do tend to pick up after their dogs and politely speak up when a dog is doing its business and the owner is not paying attention. It is not very big, so picking up is important. I'm very attentive to my dogs and I try to run and play with them, not tend to stay in groups because then the dogs will start to do the same and sometimes in close proximity they can go into guard mode, and want to be the only one standing next to their owners. The maintenance come once a week to clean up, mow the lawn and fill up the doggie bags. The whole park is great and there are always people taking their AM walks and very family friendly. If you decide that your dog needs to stretch its legs, you can take a walk around the park. It is very well maintained. Just remember to take poop bags. There is a basketball hoop and playground for the little kids. Benches along the paved walkway to rest if you need to sit down. The only downfall I would have to say is that the small dog area is not big enough and this dog park is in the middle of a neighborhood which sometimes can make parking a little tricky. Also when barking can get out of control, I feel bad for the people that live across the street. I mean I don't know how they do it? I wish that it was in more of a public place or not so much surrounded by homes with very little parking. Otherwise, like I mentioned earlier this park is the best (in my opinion) in the area. I love this park because of how open it feels and it because of the long pathway that connects this park with another park down on the other end. It's great for walking/jogging. It provides a lot of grassy areas for pets and picnics, but there's minimal shade. At either end of both parks there are two playgrounds. One's a bit more stacked in terms of playground equipment, while the other is a bit more skimpy. There's also a really nice basketball court. It's a very family-oriented park with a few tables available. read more

I have gone to the park about five times. On my last visit there was a pit bull there who was extremely aggressive. The owner was letting him run free. The pitbull turned my dog over and began to maul my dog. The owner of the bull was not paying attention and finally when my dog began to yelp he noticed his dog was attacking. I also ran over there of course. My dog was pretty shaken up. The bull had gotten hold of his harness and was keeping my dog pinned while snarling. The owner of the bull finally got control of his dog. I left the park. As I was leaving the bull dog was in a fight with another dog. I wish pet owners wouldn't take aggressive dogs into a community dog park. Be very careful if you go. read more

This is a report for the big dog park, not the little dog park. I have taken my dogs here a number of times and the results vary. I have a lab and a smaller dog and they get sick, or hurt in some way. It seems that many owners are not trained in the proper methods to handle dogs have aggressive dogs that are not properly trained or socialized. I have even seen when walking by the park a group of dogs in a fight. From the experiences I have had, it seems that when there are more than 2-4 dogs in the park, that is when many of the animals get out of control. The owners of the aggressive dogs do not take control and take their dog out of the park. They insist their dog has not ever attacked another dog. Sure, but when is their dog in the company of so many dogs except at the dog park. My dog just today was run over by another dog and got hurt. The owner of the dog said she was sorry and that her dog, which looked like a pitbull mix, chases the ball and would run through anything to get the ball. Little consolation now as my dog has dislocated shoulder. And in fact she quickly leased her dog and left. She did not stick around, give me her name and contact information so she could at least offer to compensate for some of the injury cost. I would love to call her something bad, but lets be candid, not many people would do that. I should have known to take my dogs out of the park, when I saw her enter the park. She had to keep her dog on a leash as she entered because her dog exhibited aggressive behavior towards the other dogs. This lady should not be throwing the ball if her dog is so aggressively running to the ball. Common sense should tell here that. Good luck at this park. It is an open invitation to illness or getting your dog hurt. read more

This great little neighborhood park tucked in at the end of a cul-de-sac in Brentwood is a great place for family and canine alike. My Maggie absolutely loves the dog park that they have there. The population of owners and canines that frequent the dog park are great as well. They are currently in the process of tearing up the dog park and putting in astro turf, so that it can been used year-round and not just in the summer months when it isn't sandy and muddy in there. The playground areas and the large lawns have been a great place for fast picnics and frolicking with my dear friend's children. This park is definitely a local favorite and a place that I return to over and over again. read more

Brought my 1 year old puppy here for the first time at any dog park. First impression is that it was a very small dog park. There was also so many owners there that they all brought their chairs. There was probably 10 people sitting in lawn chairs! Too many dogs for one small park. The biggest thing that upset me was the fact that my dog got the k9 flue from one of the dogs there. Come on people, it is not the fault of the park if you happen to be there when a drunk wanders in or an idiot of an owner doesn't clean up after his dog. This is about the park itself. It is relatively clean and comfortable. I like the grass and the seating areas. My only complaint is all of the ramps and jumps for teaching obedience because one of my dogs is blind and she ran into several of them. Again, not the fault of the park and it is soooo much nicer than the dump that Antioch calls a "dog park". My other dog is a very sweet and gentle pit and no one has ever made a negative comment about him. All of the other dogs he's met have been friendly and fun-loving. read more

The dog park itself is ok but the owners of the dogs make it less than enjoyable. Bringing intact dogs to a dog park is a recipe for trouble and that's exactly what I keep seeing at this park. Owners don't understand dog behavior and a handful of idiots ruin it for the responsible owner. read more

Maybe its just during winter months, but I tried to go to this park several times and it was awful. not well maintained, huge area of pure mud which my dog would love to run and cannon ball into, and just tons of poop. a few times i walked by just to check on the conditions, and there were a few ladies just chilling on the benches chatting on not even watching their dogs, so no there was no way for them to even know if their dogs did poop. recap: mud. poop. and pretty small. I will drive the extra 20 minutes to Antioch, where the people are much better at picking up after their dogs. read more

I love this park because it's the closest to me and a better one but I do have two issues, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. First, they have closed the park for what seemed to be months for "renovation". By no means did I see any work being done and it's in the same condition it was in before they closed off 75% of the park. Second, I've been coming to this park for awhile and I'm starting to notice more and more inconsiderate owners coming to the park. They're spending more time talking to everyone than watching their dogs. People are not cleaning up after their dogs, which has become a HUGE issue because there is poop EVERYWHERE. And last night I had a dog with behavioral issues and the owner wasn't paying attention. The dog kept taking my dogs ball, and when she would try and get it back, he was nipping and growling at my dog. The dog even tore apart our ball. I know it sounds silly to be complaining about a tennis ball, but my dog is very particular about tennis balls. She won't go after any other one but hers so it cut our night short. I even tried finding the owner of this dog to say something but had not a clue where they were. People need to watch their dogs when they put them in this kind of environment. read more
