A large,  clean dog park conveniently close to home!? Love it!…read more There's a separate area for large and small dogs, buckets with water inside and a sort-of working fountain in front. The grass is lush and well kept, and there are even trees being planted for future shade! What I love the most is how HUGE the space is for the big dogs. Just make sure to pick out a poopy bag from the front of the gate before you get in because the one inside is pretty far off. The only thing though is that it's just a damn shame there are still some nasty pet owners who don't take responsibility for their own pet and pick up after them. There was a large pile of poo laying out there for my boyfriend to step on... so be careful?

This is located in a newer developed neighborhood called (you guessed it) Highlands Ranch. They have 2 play structures, a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball area, and a soccer field. They also have a large, covered picnic area right in the center of it all. You can reserve this space from the city of Pittsburg on non-holiday weekends. The only bad thing about this park is the wind. We all know that when we are playing a sport, the wind can carry the ball in unwanted directions. That's my only reason this park didn't make the 5 stars cut.

We had to keep our dog in another area where they didn't have anyone. Still trying to get him used to being around other big dogs (he's a rescue we've had for a while) but he is used to being around little dogs and doesn't like when dogs mount him so we try to keep him away from other big dogs although I know he wants to run free with them :/ We've taken him to other parks and he played fine with other dogs then someone will bring in a dog that messes with him and when he snaps back it's automatically his fault (since he's a pittbull) eyeroll! So we try to avoid these types of situations but our dogs had a good time at this one.

This park is special because it recognizes the US veterans. From most poles you walk into, you'll see banners of some veterans. It's really nice because it shows that did so much to serve us. It's not really a big park compared to the ones I usually go to, but it's still a good place to host outdoor parties. It even has a water park. So it's basically like my home park I usually go to except smaller especially how the parking is set up next to the water park. Honestly, it would have been a bonus if the park is bigger, but this is good enough. I really wanted to walk around the park but it's too hot. I just go in the shade because I can't really take the heat. I highly recommend bringing water if you plan to go around the park.
