You won't find better seafood anywhere. Their prices are great and they have inside and outside seating. I love this place!!!

Great experience with a couple of lovely friends at this Amish Menonite restaurant that serves…read moresouthern comfort from another world They change the menu daily and today they didn't have the fried pork chops the baked pork was good too, tender and fully cooked, service was quick and with a smile. The two sides were flavorful and the Mac and cheese had real cheese not like the one that comes in a box My sweet tea came with refills like it is customary in the South, for dessert had the shoo-fly pie which was unlike anything I ever had and good to the last bite I will take my outoftowners next time even if it is in the middle of nowhere in a block that is being revitalized by the Mayor, inside is a modest place and don't expect a Michelin star, just plain and simple homemade cooking

He was just trying to keep us away from the good stuff! For starters, walking in was nice and comfortable and came with a friendly greeting. It was 2 o'clock on a Thursday and there was a bit of business, but not too much to keep us from a visit and going to our seat in just a minute. My wife and I had different items so that we could taste more things. I don't believe that there was any negative conversation about a single bite. It was easy to get excited about the flavor of everything that we had. Pure comfort food at its best. If you made it this far in the review and don't go find out how wonderful this is. Sorry but, you're missing out!

I had the Mr. B's Burger with sweet potato fries, and it was more than enough for my wife and me to split. The bartenders were excellent and attentive, and the kitchen was quick and generous. The atmosphere was relaxed, the people were friendly, and nobody seemed to be in a hurry--which is exactly how things ought to be in Barnwell. A few tables over, problems were being solved, fish were getting bigger with every retelling, and at least one expert was explaining how he could have coached the Gamecocks to a winning season if only they'd asked. It had that comfortable hometown feel where everybody either knows your name or knows somebody who does. Good food, cold drinks, friendly faces, and enough local storytelling to qualify as an oral history project. If you're looking for fancy, keep driving. If you're looking for a place where the burger is honest, the fries are plentiful, and the conversation is free, pull up a chair. You'll fit right in.

Not sure about their weekday fare but on Sunday from 11-2 they have a buffet. It was busy but the line wasn't too bad at 11:30 pre-church crowd. The buffet had several kinds of meat, fried fish, lots of traditional southern vegetables, two pasta salads and a potato salad and rooks and cornbread. Desserts included banana pudding, red velvet cake, and a Lane cake. Everyone in our party had the fried chicken although a few samples the fried fish. It was all very tasty and fresh. Between eight of us, we tried everything and all was declared delicious. We didn't get a chance to get seconds because the church folks showed up in droves and the line was out the door! The ambiance was nice and the waitresses checked on us and refilled our drinks regularly although they were very busy. The total for the buffet, gratuity (already included), and tax was almost $24.00.

Food was well seasoned and portions were good for the cost. Started off with the Visalia Onion Dip and Bravas and Brussels. Then for main meals I got the daily special which was a Blackened Pork Chop over Mashed Potatoes with a side of Crispy Brussels Sprouts. My wife had the Prime Rib which was seasoned to perfection. Our kids had the Blackened Salmon and the other had the Chicken Caprese. Everything tasted great and we had wanted to go here and finally did and will most likely be back again for a different dish or two... and sorry I only got one pic of the drink we got, oops.

I'll tell you what made me unhappy. We were there on a 95 degree day. When we were seated our waitress brought us a carafe of water and 2 glasses. Room temperature water and no ice. I asked for ice and she brought us a cup of ice. Not really enough for 2 people and it melted down as soon as I poured water over it. I figured that the only way I would get ice was to order a drink, so I ordered ice tea. That usually comes with ice. Right?? Well our waitress said that she had to brew me a fresh cup of tea which when you pour that over ice the ice melts away and again I had a glass of room temperature tea. I couldn't get a cold drink here to save my life. And did I mention that it was 95 degrees out? My wife ordered a Rubin sandwich, not realizing that it was a spicy sandwich. One bite and she was done. She doesn't like spicy food so I traded her for my simple bacon egg sandwich on a bagel and I had her spicy Rubin. And it was spicy! They had a mustard that must've been made with jalapeño and if you like heat, you will like this. Plenty of parking. Full bar. Clean restroom. Very average.
