You won't find better seafood anywhere. Their prices are great and they have inside and outside seating. I love this place!!!

Great experience with a couple of lovely friends at this Amish Menonite restaurant that serves…read moresouthern comfort from another world They change the menu daily and today they didn't have the fried pork chops the baked pork was good too, tender and fully cooked, service was quick and with a smile. The two sides were flavorful and the Mac and cheese had real cheese not like the one that comes in a box My sweet tea came with refills like it is customary in the South, for dessert had the shoo-fly pie which was unlike anything I ever had and good to the last bite I will take my outoftowners next time even if it is in the middle of nowhere in a block that is being revitalized by the Mayor, inside is a modest place and don't expect a Michelin star, just plain and simple homemade cooking

He was just trying to keep us away from the good stuff! For starters, walking in was nice and comfortable and came with a friendly greeting. It was 2 o'clock on a Thursday and there was a bit of business, but not too much to keep us from a visit and going to our seat in just a minute. My wife and I had different items so that we could taste more things. I don't believe that there was any negative conversation about a single bite. It was easy to get excited about the flavor of everything that we had. Pure comfort food at its best. If you made it this far in the review and don't go find out how wonderful this is. Sorry but, you're missing out!

This is the local eatery where the serious locals come to eat. The food was good, but keep in mind:…read morelocation, location, location--you are in Barnwell. I had the Mr. B's Burger with sweet potato fries, and it was more than enough for my wife and me to split. The bartenders were excellent and attentive, and the kitchen was quick and generous. The atmosphere was relaxed, the people were friendly, and nobody seemed to be in a hurry--which is exactly how things ought to be in Barnwell. A few tables over, problems were being solved, fish were getting bigger with every retelling, and at least one expert was explaining how he could have coached the Gamecocks to a winning season if only they'd asked. It had that comfortable hometown feel where everybody either knows your name or knows somebody who does. Good food, cold drinks, friendly faces, and enough local storytelling to qualify as an oral history project. If you're looking for fancy, keep driving. If you're looking for a place where the burger is honest, the fries are plentiful, and the conversation is free, pull up a chair. You'll fit right in.

Not sure about their weekday fare but on Sunday from 11-2 they have a buffet. It was busy but the line wasn't too bad at 11:30 pre-church crowd. The buffet had several kinds of meat, fried fish, lots of traditional southern vegetables, two pasta salads and a potato salad and rooks and cornbread. Desserts included banana pudding, red velvet cake, and a Lane cake. Everyone in our party had the fried chicken although a few samples the fried fish. It was all very tasty and fresh. Between eight of us, we tried everything and all was declared delicious. We didn't get a chance to get seconds because the church folks showed up in droves and the line was out the door! The ambiance was nice and the waitresses checked on us and refilled our drinks regularly although they were very busy. The total for the buffet, gratuity (already included), and tax was almost $24.00.

Many things were very great about this experience, but there were also many areas where it was…read morelacking. Host: The host was extremely kind and greeted us with a little Fourth of July dance. It made us feel welcomed and like we would want to come again. 5/5 Waitress: Though she was nice, she was absolutely horrible at "being a good waitress": lack of refills, never getting the sauce we requested, walking around doing nothing. We noticed that the other waitress was on the ball and serving double the tables many times quicker. 1/5 Kindness: All the workers and even the customers were very kind and treated us very well. There were very many "excuse me's," "my pleasure's," and "no problem's." 5/5 Prices: They were not too bad, but they have definitely risen over the past few years. However, nearly all prices have risen, so I guess we can't hold them too accountable. 3/5 Waiting Time: The waiting time was a little disappointed. We noticed that it wasn't very full, and there seemed to be many workers on duty. However, it took well over thirty minutes to receive our food. In addition, we didn't get refills until we were halfway done our food (so around 35-40 minutes). 1/5 Food: While my food was amazing (trio deal), my fellow guest's food was disappointing. For the long wait time, we were expecting it to be amazing. However, the steak was tough and had little flavor, along with the baked potato, which lacked butter and sour cream and was dry. 2/5 Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and had very little visible blemishes or dirt. The wall of the booths were a little dirty, but not too bad. 4/5 Paying: We had to wait a while to pay because server was nowhere to be found (which by at this point was expected). We were ready to leave for a while and simply had to sit there. 2/5 While this review contained many fives, the main reason we came (the food) and the overall experience was very disappointing. I never understood why so many of these restaurants were closing down, but after this experience, I finally understand why. To average the numbers, it lands on a 2.8/5, which rounds up to a 3.

No one working acknowledged any of us waiting. Waitresses walked by and didnt even make eye contact or say give us a few minutes. Plenty of people working were just standing around. Left after waiting about 5-10 minutes.
