He doesn't play favorites, he won't be swayed by drunk nor flirt, he is straight and true to the end of the night and in a town, or bar, full of shady folk that is highly admirable IMO. Five nights a week, you can find Bernie laying down the sweet tunes from Se7as to Tom's to Se7as to Holleman's to Se7as! Of course, my fav spot wit T-Spoon is Se7as!! I've been going to that spot to karaoke with Bernie for about a year now. There's a great group of regulars, who are quite entertaining too. But back to Bernie... Bernie is always fair in the karaoke lineup. If you put in a song, you sing. In that order. Seems simple enough, but there's plenty of other KJs in and around Miami, who don't play by any rules and let their friends and regulars hog the mic. Bernie even keeps an eye on those folks who are trying to sneak in and duet on every person's song - which can actually be pretty hilarious to watch sometimes. Like anyone looking to invest a good amount of cash into anything, I was a bit skeptical at first, especially as this was online classes and through Zoom video calls; a couple of grand ain't nothing to sneeze at. Though, his values in terms of how he teaches, what he teaches, and his no pressure no cost initial meeting have made me took the plunge. If I am being honest, I got more than I bargained for in the first month. On top of learning flamenco, he taught guitar/music learning in a more modern approach to super charge my skills and technique. I gotten through a good amount of my past plateaus in shorter time than I thought. And the care and attention he put to his students are incredible. I mainly got with Diego to learn a flamenco piece and to learn more (and apply) the new research based learning methods, and I got through the program with more than I asked as those first "asks" was easily done in a course of a couple of weeks.
