I am very impressed with the North Andover farmer's market (located next to the CVS plaza on Main…read moreStreet), including the number of organic options--organic meat, fruit, eggs, and vegetables. There is seafood, too, which is impressive. I stocked up on organic meats (fresh and frozen) from Eva's Farm. The steaktips that I ate last night were awesome! Tender and flavorful. This time I bought lemon/pepper chicken, bacon/cheddar burgers, rib eye, and strip steak. Buy one, get one FREE on frozen meat! The boneless rib eye was $19.54, and the T-bone steak was $19.45. So, I spent $19.54 for the two. We tried their frozen strip steak and it was tender and delicious. Julie's Happy Hens sells a variety of organic eggs from chickens, ducks, and turkeys. A sweet little old lady from Hickory Nut Farm sells all things made out of goat's milk. I didn't buy her cheese or yogurt today, but I bought her goat's milk soap, and goat's milk brownie (as gifts). I also bought delicious corn, tomatoes, cuke, arugula, blueberries, and donut peaches--including organic produce from Gaouette Farm. (Lots of other produce--ranging from kale to beets to watermelon to apples--are available.) One of my favorite vendors is a mushroom purveyor: Mycoterra Farm. The beautiful oyster and shitake mushrooms (coupled with farmer's cheese and organic tomatoes) made for a very tasty lunchtime sandwich. I will be back next Sunday (hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), maybe to purchase some seafood or handmade scrubs and candles. Bakery items, jams, cheese, cereal, and other goodies are there, too.

Really happy to have this new farmer's market in town. Great location and mix of vendors. A great…read moreselection considering it's new, small size. Lots of great fresh veggies and fruit and organic meats too. Always entertainment and great to bring the kids. Thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers who made it happen! Absolutely be sure to bring either lots of cash or a mix. Not all vendors take cards and some have minimums. A few of the vendors have snacks and drinks to purchase right there as well! A great addition to town!

Fantastic! The reviews are accurate. Small place with a small town vibe. I came late (6:30) on a…read moreMonday evening to avoid any potential local crowd. There was only one other couple in the place. Several orders were picked up for takeout in my time there. I naturally tried the clam chowder. Very good. Nice and thick. A very generous portion of fish and chips was served along with coleslaw. The fish was in bite sized nuggets which make them easy to eat. The fish was fresh and tasty with a great complement of tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Coleslaw was on point. Steak fries were decent. This was night 3 of my 12 night stay for work. I will definitely come back to try the lobster roll.

Man, what a hole in the wall! I wanted some good old-fashioned New England clam chowder while I was…read morehere, and I searched and found this place. It wasn't much to look at, and the air conditioning was spotty on this exceptionally hot day, but I wanted a pint of New England clam chowder and by gosh. That's what I got! Not to mention a small shrimp cocktail - my only demerit was the shrimp cocktail was sitting in a bucket of ice. The bottom half was in the ice, which was good, but the top half was roasting away in the extraordinarily hot interior of the restaurant! I decided to take a chance and ordered that too. You know, it wasn't something special to look at. But? The taste? The clam chowder was epic! The shrimp cocktail wasn't too bad, but the shrimp were a little limp - the cocktail sauce was pretty good though. So was I impressed? Well, after having grown up in Seattle with great clam chowder? I think this clam chowder stood up very well to what I had as a child. But was it so special that I would come back? Maybe not - but damn it hit the right spot!

The cuts are consistently excellent, beautifully trimmed, and handled with real skill. The butchers themselves are one of the biggest reasons to shop here. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you choose the right cut or offer cooking advice. It feels like the kind of personal service that has become rare. Beyond the meat counter, the store carries a wide range of specialty items, prepared foods, produce, bakery goods, cheeses, sauces, and pantry staples. It is convenient to pick up everything you need for a great meal in one place, and the selection is curated with care. That said, the prices are undeniably high. While the meat quality justifies the cost, many of the other items are priced well above what you would find at a traditional supermarket. For most shoppers, those products make sense only when convenience outweighs the premium. Still, if you value exceptional meat and appreciate warm, expert service, Butcher Boy is absolutely worth the visit. It is the kind of market that makes you look forward to cooking, even if you save your everyday shopping for somewhere more budget‑friendly.
