I moved to a new neighborhood and had to find a new barber. Fade Kings are walking distance and I…read morejust had to try them out. When I walked in, they had two customers in chairs and three barbers working. As a result, no wait. Rudy was available to take me on and did just that. Friendly, funny, and he listened to what I wanted. Through the funny banter between the three barbers, us customers, Rudy did his work, all along checking in with me on progress. The outcome was a great haircut at a reasonable price. I had a great barber before. These guys are a good match. I'll go back next month.

I like the concept of this place- old school barbershop with a trendy feel…read more My kids and I arrived around 2pm on a Friday and there was already a list forming. No appointments, walk-ins only. There were 4 barbers, chairs full, and a few people waiting. So, I put our names down and waited. I really don't know how long I waited because I was occupied with my kids. Aaron was friendly and did a nice job with my kids' hair. So, why the 3 stars and hesitation to return? About a week before actually going to the barbershop, I searched high and low for a phone number. I really wanted to find out the prices before walking in. I found a number on google and called, but never heard back. I don't mind paying for good services but I wanted to know beforehand- especially because Fade Kings only accepts cash (as per other yelp reviews). So, no phone number, no prices anywhere on yelp, facebook page, or in the barbershop. Each of my kiddos was 25, so 50 in total- cash only. I usually tip 20% but because of not knowing exactly how much the service was, I had to tip less because I didn't have enough cash on me. Accepting credit cards, having set appointments, and a price list available would easily turn this 3 star review into a 5 star review.

Honestly, the experience was disappointing -- I called about ten places. Five didn't answer at all, and several couldn't communicate properly. It was frustrating and felt unprofessional. Then I called Sport Clips in Escondido -- completely different story. They answered immediately, gave me clear information, and told me to come in. Within minutes I was sitting in the chair. The price was fair -- about $30 -- and the entire process was smooth, efficient, and professional. Special thanks to Sergio. This guy is the real deal. Calm, confident, professional, and extremely precise. No wasted time, no confusion -- just clean, sharp, high-quality work. You can tell he respects his craft and respects the client's time. Management should absolutely recognize Sergio for his professionalism. Employees like him represent the business the right way. He deserves serious appreciation. This is exactly how a professional haircut experience should be. Fast, easy, and done right the first time. Highly recommended. I will be coming back.
