Their website said I can provide a negative result to take the class faster so I told them I'm willing to provide negative test result. Then the management literally replied with a threat saying "we will ban you if you show up before 14 days." Then they sent me another email saying they won't accept me as a member and etc while I was writing this review. How do you expect to teach people martial arts when you are this paranoid, rude, and irrational? I've been to few local gyms here but this is by far the worst experience just by contacting them. Glad I didn't even waste my time attending here.

I am thankful that I found the Yamasaki Springfield location. I tried out several different schools in the area and finally settled on Yamasaki because it felt like the perfect fit between the kids and adults programs. My kids train both judo and jiu jitsu at the school and both programs are great. Coach Mo is a great judo coach and they have a dozen or so black belts able to assist the kids classes on a regular basis. My son's take downs and standup have improved dramatically since training judo there. Professor Neto does a great job teaching both the kids classes and the adults class. The kids classes are the perfect balance of discipline and fun. Neto explains the various techniques with an extremely high level of detail and thoroughness. The adult classes have a good mix of beginners and advanced students. There are several black belts that attend class and can lead the class if Neto is away. The academy is air conditioned and comfortable in the summer months and Neto is a stickler keeping the mats clean.

Everything's been great -- I'm more conscious of my body, I'm more mobile, and with his coaching I've also gotten through two unofficial exhibition bouts -- called "smokers" -- but the thing that I really want to impress upon anyone that is thinking about training with him is the thing that has really stuck with me: I am stronger mentally. He's shown me that I can push through my mental barriers and accomplish things. I can get through that next set of pushups and burpees. I can jump rope for 5 minutes, 10, 20, 30 minutes straight. I don't have to look at a 5 mile run like it's impossible anymore, all things that I hadn't done or even thought I could do at the beginning of this year. Even as life has become more demanding I'm spending less regular time training with him, I still have the mentality that he instilled in me, that I am capable of accomplishing what I set my mind to, and that through perseverance I can continue to reach my goals and become stronger. Unethical and unsatisfactory customer services from employees there. When I tried to resolve it, they refused to fix the problem, refused to take responsibility for their actions, and didn't want to investigate the evidence & facts. Big red flag. Instead of fixing the problem they were responsible for, they tried to get me to sign up for membership there with a discount as a solution. Very unprofessional. My experience here was very unsatisfactory. Yet, I am grateful I decided to never get membership here due to people telling me their personal problems with LA Fitness and my own experience. The matter was addressed privately and immediately with corporate customer service and district manager. An apology was issued to me from the district manager as well as a free 7 day pass ( I refused the free 7 day pass yet thanked them for it .), and employees were reprimanded by the district manager from what was communicated to me. From personal discussions with people and their experiences in LA Fitness, there has been several, worse, and unresolved problems in LA Fitness than what I encountered. If your health insurance is paying for your gym membership here or if you never had a problem with LA Fitness, this might be a good gym for you if the pros outweigh the cons. Yet out of all the gyms I have went to in my life, this is the worst experience I ever had at a gym. Strongly suggest to just seek out all your options and get the free 3 day pass online for LA Fitness (if you want to sample it before getting a membership).
