They did a great job for me cutting down and cleaning up 6 diseased hemlocks. I was pleased with their work and price.

I helped an elderly neighbor with a tree she needed to have removed from her yard (I made phone calls for her), and Austin came out to help us the same day. When I called I had to leave a message, but Austin called me back right away and he was nearby so he came over within about ten minutes. The tree had become giant for a crepe myrtle tree, and it was damaging both my mom's house and her neighbor's house. It was a tight squeeze, so I was nervous about damage to the houses, but they did a perfect job! They were careful and transparent throughout the entire process, incredibly friendly, cleaned everything up and put everything back, and got the work done within an hour or two. I requested different landscaping things to be done in my front yard and I was given an estimate of $5500 written on the back of Issac's business card. But I was told the business was actually owned by Brandy Jenkins. After he left I noticed the card stated that they give a 10% discount to senior citizens, which I am. I was glad to see that by their price was high to me. When they came with a crew on Monday, they had to leave mid day for some different equipment that they had not brought with them. 1. When I went to write out the check reducing the price by the senior citizen discount. Issac told me that he already included the discount in the price which shocked and infuriated me. 2. They were not finished and he said that they would be back to finish on Tuesday but I never saw them again. My check was cashed the next day and the work was never finished! So they are scammed and thieves and certainly not Christians as thry.proport to be! Do NOT ever use them! They are based in Lexington but put flyers in mailboxes. read more

"DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY" "RUN FAST AND FAR" I hired this company to remove a very large tree for me. All was going well until a piece of the tree got away from them and hit the corner of my garage. It damaged the siding, downspout, and a man door. Ok - I was not upset, accidents happen, they just need to make an insurance claim and take care of fixing the damage. But, here's where the problem lies. They told me they would make a claim and their insurance agent would call me. This never happened. They then wanted to negotiate a deal saying the cost to fix the damage was less than their deductible and they did not want to have an insurance claim. Ok - I'm willing to discuss this. Then they wanted to send their "dad" over to fix it. Sorry, no I want a licensed, reputable contractor. They then sent some other guy over to look at the damage who claimed to be an engineer. He offered to knock 50% off the bill. I told him, no, we first need to get contractor quotes in order to determine how much the repair will cost. I got a contractor quote on my own - $1900 for the repair. I sent it to King James Tree company - "crickets" Here in lies the problem - They have now disappeared and are ignoring my phones calls and texts. They are NOT a reputable, ethical, responsible, well run company. Contrary to their word, they probably do not even have business insurance. read more

I have 2.3 acres in Providence Plantation that I had neglected over the years. Dead trees, leaning trees, overgrown vegetation, fallen branches, out-of-control vines -- and it was only getting worse. I called King James Tree Care and by sheer luck they had just finished a job nearby. They showed up and within 20 minutes were attacking my yard. Chris and his crew of four cleared my property in one and a half days, at a price that I considered fair and reasonable. Along the way, Chris came and got me several times and walked around the yard with me to get my feedback and to make sure they were doing exactly what I wanted. All of the guys were extremely polite and treated me with the utmost respect. They turned my yard from a disaster area into an absolute showcase. It has not looked this good in 15 years, and now I am genuinely proud of it. The best part: they cleaned up afterward and left no trace that they had even been there, except for their magnificent work, of course. If I could I would give them six stars. My neighbor contacted this company (they left a card in her mailbox) to help rescue a cat from a large tree in our yard. They told us the cat would only go up further in the tree so they didn't rescue her (later that day the fire department saved the cat!). While this tree company was at our property, we asked them to take down a crepe myrtle which they agreed to chop and drop (we cut up and drag to the curb) for a fee of $300. In the process of taking the tree down, they wrapped a heavy rope around one of the small privacy trees that border our yard to guide the direction of the fall of the crepe myrtle as they cut it and pulled it with their truck. The rope cut so deep into the privacy tree that it had to be cut down, after which they dragged it back into the bushes to die. Now we have a great view of the neighbors through the gaping hole in the privacy barrier. We had to drag the privacy tree back out after they left and cut it up ourselves. As we were taking some of the tree debris to the curb, we noticed fresh, nasty black oil leaks from their truck down our costly, freshly pressure washed 150 foot concrete driveway.
