Food was satisfactory. I ordered the General Tso' Combo with fried rice and an egg roll. It was good. Egg roll wasn't very warm internally but it went frozen to my bag pretty quickly. The problem was in the price. I was told it was $12.15. While waiting for my food to go, I looked more closely at the paper menu. My combo was priced at 8.95. I had already paid with a credit card with a two dollar tip it came to 14.15. Even the full dinner wasn't that much. The one person staff had confirmed I wanted the combo. I saw another price on the wall for the "Special." It was a totally different price and not the price of the combo I'd ordered. Confusing right? My advice is to just watch your bill. I won't be back. Tipping for takeout is something we all should think twice about. Covid is over. read more

Today is my second time ordering takeout from this place. I have tried: specials with deep-fried chicken teriyaki skewers w/ fried rice, chicken & broccoli, shrimp fried rice, special order of broccoli and mushroom, and broccoli and garlic sauce (add tofu), and Kung pow chicken The good: - The seasoning/flavors are quite good. - friendly service. The bad: - inconsistent and random pricing (I was charged more than the advertised prices each time, ) - They charge an additional percentage when you pay with credit card. This essentially encourages the use of cash, in a day and age where cash handling and food handling aren't really compatible because of germs, and especially when often the guy preparing/cooking the food is also the one taking your money. Most people pay with credit card nowadays, so instead of charging extra for the use of credit card, they should just raise the menu prices to be clear and upfront about it, so people know what to expect. Again, I think unclear and random price changes do not project integrity. - The broccoli got overcooked and mushy, which is a shame because the flavor of the food was good. - the peanuts in the kungpow chicken had a stale taste to it. And the canned water chestnut in the same dish tasted rotten. These ingredients that have long shelf life need to be taste tested frequently otherwise they can go bad (but stilling looking fine) - The dishes were swimming in an excessive layer of oil. - the tofu was cut in thin slabs and fried too long that they turned hard and dry . - They skimp on the containers of rice that come with the dinner-portion dishes. read more

The location is not clean. The food was ok. Sometimes "holes in the wall" are great finds, but not in this case.

Food is delicious and perfect Chinese take out. Everything tastes fresh and more homemade than others for the same price. Good portions. You may need to give yourself a few extra minutes for pickup because there is sometimes only one person cooking and handling customers but it's worth it. read more

Chinese take out. I'm going to go out on a limb here and call this the best Chinese take-out in the Lynchburg area. That's right - you heard it from me. Don't believe me? I have eaten more than my fair share of nasty Chinese take out since moving here over a year ago. I finally moved into a house and this place is extremely close by- so after ordering something to try, I got home and was beyond pleasantly surprised by the taste and smell. I didn't say anything but left about half of my meal in the fridge. My wife came home, reheated it and immediately asked where I got it from as it was really good. Mind you, this was reheated and still really good. We ordered a few dishes a couple of days later and sure enough - all came out as good as expected. It seems to be a one-man operation and everything is made to order- as per the usual operating procedure for these take-out places. Prices are very cheap and you will have enough to get at least two meals out of an order- unless you are my fat bastard cousin, but nevertheless, it is a lot of food... Give them a whirl. Not much to look at pretty standard Chinese food menu, one dude cooking in the back but the food is amazing. Hands down best in area. This place doesn't look like much when you walk by, there's a strangely suspicious sign on the front door that claims its the best General Tso's and Sesame chicken in town. I mean it couldn't possibly be true right? It's definitely a marketing ploy? Absolutely not. King house is an establishment that has one thing on its mind and one thing only. From the owner Tommy to the food they serve, its clear that keeping things affordable, delicious, and clean is the way they operate. The steamed dumplings are alright and the cheese wontons are nothing special but King House truly shines when you order the sesame chicken combo platter. For just 9 dollars you get a heaping pile of pork fried rice, sesame chicken, 2-3 florets of broccoli and an eggroll. Honestly I'm at a loss for words as to how this place keeps itself open. Unless God himself is their main supplier for rice I have no clue how Tommy makes any money. The fried rice doesn't taste old or reconstituted, there's decent pieces of pork inside and its well seasoned. The broccoli is a nice touch and I love how its not totally overpowering the dish and its just enough for a vegetal crunch to break up the meal. The star of the show is the sesame chicken. This chicken is fried well and the sauce is sweet, savory, and clings well to the chicken fry. The leftover sauce goes great with the fried rice! It is truly the gold standard for any Chinese food place for starving students all around. The only thing I will note is to make sure to ask for utensils. read more

We finally found the best Chinese fast food restaurant in town. The food taste better than more expensive Chinese restaurants. Easily the best Chinese food in Lynchburg and definitely the best sesame chicken. Owner is extremely nice and a very good cook. Menu is easy to read and has lots of options.
