Picked up General Tao chicken with white rice and Mongolian beef with white rice this evening. Huge portions, very tasty and nicely packaged. Greeted as usual at the counter when ordering, polite and courteous. Nice elderly couple doing the cooking in the back, always gives us a friendly wave. Highly recommend if in the mood for Chinese. read more

I LOVE dragons garden!!! The owners are so kind and the food is very reasonably priced. Some of these reviews are honestly shocking, the food has always been delicious! The owners also give out free sugar donuts if you order a certain amount of food! I'd recommend their takeout to anyone looking for good affordable Chinese food read more

Ate here for the 1st time. If you're looking for ambiance you won't find it here. There are only 4 small tables; the rest of the rest of the restaurant/carryout is stacked with supply boxes. The food was very tasty. My husband & I both had the Seafood Delight. Included in this dish was scallops, shrimp, a piece of lobster (which unfortunately was tough), broccoli, onions, mushrooms, imitation crab meat & Chinese veges in a broth. They don't have fountain drinks & no ice. You have to purchase bottled beverages from the cooler. However, I noticed the shrimp wasn't deveined so I won't order any shrimp dishes going forward if we return. read more

I ordered the Beef and lo mein noodles online this evening. When I got home and opened up the container it looked like only 6 SMALL pieces of beef. It was ridiculous. I went back up to the restaurant and tried to explain what was going on and how I felt about what I purchased. The lady owner had to call a family member who spoke English so I could talk to them. Basically they did not do anything. I asked for more beef at no charge or to receive a refund. They would not do either. I told him I would not be back and that I would be writing this review. I think it's ridiculous for the price I paid which was $12. read more

Was so happy to support this lovely older couple whose smiles and hospitality made me feel like I was home. I left a tip and immediately after he saw that I had done so, he insisted that I take home a chilled bottled soda for free. Please come and support this restaurant! I believe they are good, hard-working people who are grateful for all of their customers. Ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch deal that came with fried rice and a fresh egg roll for only around $7! read more

Dragon's Garden - General tso's chicken lunch with fried rice and egg roll $7.14 - Chinese Near Me - Lynchburg, Virginia

Very much enjoyed the food they provided! Chicken, noodles, soup, and rice were all delicious! Also I commend them at their age, they both look past 70. If they have anything to serve me I have no doubt it will be delicious, wishing them all the best, and I give them my honor and respect. read more

Fantastic authentic Chinese food. Best place we've had in a long time. Highly recommend! read more

Typical americanized Chinese takeout.. Fast and friendly service. But the fried dumplings had an odd taste of like cinnamon or nutmeg that threw them off entirely. The cashew chicken had a ton of filler veggies and didn't come with white rice like the menu said. Have definitely had better Chinese takeout in other towns... read more

The owners of this place are lovely and very kind. They greeted me with a piece of chocolate and comped a soda after they saw I tipped. However, the food is not good. I stopped in to get lunch for my husband and I, lunch specials of beef and broccoli and kung pao chicken. Both were inedible. The fried rice looked and tasted like yellow rice (no veggies or egg) and the meats on both entrées didn't taste or smell good. The restaurant looks like it has been there for awhile and I hope they get back on their feet. read more

I have been ordering from this family for almost 10 years. The parents cannot speak English and the son speaks broken English at best. I have placed three specific orders over the last two weeks via door dash and just sucked it up that it was incomplete or just the wrong order. Tonight was final straw completely wrong order and when I called the store to complain I was brushed off with the excuse of door dash is third party. Bla bla bla. This establishment has gotten the last dollar from me and I will just go get my order from kings island. It's a little more expensive, but always correct, hot, and fresh. Take a lesson Dragon Garden, without happy customers you have no business. End of rant. read more

Love this place and I love these people! The matriarch is the sweetest lady you will ever meet EVER! The food is great and super fast. If this place ever closed it would be devastating. read more

Basic buffet. Not great tasting. Good if you are in a hurry but if you want good Chinese food, not necessarily here

Delicious food best one I tried in Lynchburg I will be back can't wait to try different things to eat highly recommended.

Best Chinese take-out in the Lynchburg area. (It's not the best Chinese take-out I've had, it's just the best around here) Very kind owners and employees. Very generous portions. Usually one large dinner entree is enough for 3 adults eating a normal meal. read more

I got chicken wings and they was still raw, and the dumplings was absolutely horrible

I made a pretty big order for New Year's Eve. I couldn't believe all of the extra free food and desserts they gave us. All of the freebies had the words thank you written on each box. They have the best sesame chicken!! Totally worth every penny. read more

This food is without a doubt the WORST Chinese food on earth. I ordered egg roll, lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, and crab rangoons. Even the sweet and sour sauce was awful! Whatever you do, don't waste your money. I had to throw everything away! Sherrie Carel Lynchburg, VA read more

One of the best Chinese food places around Lynchburg. Actual Chinese people cooking actual Chinese food and they are kind and respectful. The restaurant could use some upgrades, but they provide consistently good, reliable food and service. I often take out and am never disappointed. You can see the kitchen when you walk in and it is always clean and organized. I can recommend: Hot and Sour soup, Spring rolls, Beef Hunan, Hot and Spicy Shredded Chicken, Szechuan chicken, Broccoli in garlic sauce, and the Lo meins and fried rices are also good. read more

This is the best an freshest Chinese food I have had since moving to Lynchburg from Philadelphia. The service was friendly and efficient. . I will definitely be ordering from them again. read more

Fresh made chicken and pork dishes. Some of the ingredients in the dishes seemed a little thin--for instance, not as much shrimp in the fried rice as I'd like. Overall a fine takeout experience with friendly service. read more

Make sure to do take out! This little mom and pop shop is my go-to for Chinese food in the area. The little old lady that runs the place is so sweet, and they give good size portions for cheap. I would stick to the combination dinners as its over a pound of fried rice, entree, and egg roll. Any order over $20 gets you a container full of doughnuts, and if she recognizes you she'll give you free drinks. From the state of the restaurant they used to do sit down dining, but since all their costumers do take out, they haven't invested money in maintaining the dining room. There is only one Chinese family working there so they work all day every day. They are very hard workers and deserve your patronage. read more

One of the best Chinese restaurants I've found. We were visiting with my parents and they said it was better than their favorite in Fredricksburg. Food was great and even got lots of free desserts,(the grandkids enjoyed that). Will definitely visit next time. read more

I'm giving Dragon's Garden a 4 star rating based upon this place being a reliable Chinese take-out restaurant that offers freshly prepared food in a prompt manner at a very reasonable price. Even though there is seating, my impression is that 95% of the business is take-out. It is not what I would call a destination eat-in restaurant, but I would certainly have no problem eating in for any reason. The lady who I most often place my order with is extremely nice. I usually order Chicken with Garlic Sauce, as it only has the vegetables i like (carrots, broccoli, snow peas and onions). It is consistently very good. I also am a big fan of hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup here is extremely hot (spicy) but not very sour for my taste. But I just doctor it to my taste by adding a couple tablespoons of cider vinegar when I get the soup home. And the portions are very large. My regular quart entree and a quart of soup is more than enough for two large portion meals, and for less than $13. I cannot rate the other offerings as I usually order the same thing. One time I ordered General Tso's chicken which was fine, but I found it odd that the entree was only chicken and sauce, but without the broccoli that I usually expect with this dish. All in all, this is my go to place for Chinese take out. With the quality of food, along with the fair prices, friendly and efficient service, and convenient parking in the strip mall location, I always look forward to going here when I have a hankering for Chinese take-out! read more

This place is good stuff. Good food for the price, friendly service, and quick order time. My wife and I order from here on occasion and they haven't disappointed. The food is good, especially for the price and service. I say give it a try, it's a good bang for your buck! read more

I'm surprised I'm the first to review this place- seems like its been here a while. A little Chinese place tucked in a mini-mall, along side a Food Lion market. It's small (6 or 7 tables) and seems to do most of its business with take out. The menu, even for eat-in customers is mostly priced by the quart or pint. But they also have combination dishes with an entree and rice. We ate in. They do free delivery over $15, but I don't know how far they'll go. The lady in charge was pleasant enough, but had limited English. (When they learn English in Virginia, the resulting accent is often "interesting".) The menu is pretty diverse and the dishes my companions had, veggie chow mein and sweet and sour chicken, were all very good. I found the lo mein and egg roll to be a bit more "tasty" than the routine Lynchburg Chinese place. Maybe they use a bit of MSG. Tasty is the key to quality Chinese. The fried rice was excellent. No buffet. I'll go back and do a more detailed review, but in the meantime, I think you'll be happy with this place for an ordinary Chinese night- not a special occasion place. Prices are quite reasonable. Lunch specials are $5. There's a big private parking lot associated with the mini-mall. By the way, they don't take checks but do take credit cards, and they're closed Christmas and Thanksgiving Day, so no "Chinese turkey" for you. Come to think of it- there was no duck on the menu at all. Ergo- only four stars. read more

Fed 4 of us for $30 and still had leftovers, so it's a great value. And they gave us complimentary deserts!

I'm a Lynchburg native and usually I frequent another Chinese joint for my weekly take-out. Tonight, my dad and I tried this place and were very pleasantly surprised. I really liked my order of steamed chicken and vegetables (my usual), egg drop soup, etc. My dad was really surprised by how hot the hot and sour soup is (again, in a good way), and what was most amazing was the box full of FREE doughnuts that accompanied our meal! I don't know if they were placed there by accident or on purpose, but I like to think they're there on purpose and I totally appreciated it. read more

The restaurant is kitchy and what you would expect out of any Chinese place in a southern state. It seems that even if the owners are authentic; the food is not. Nothing I ate was remarkable and the service was average. Don't be afraid of the woman who runs the place. Being clipped and straight to the point is her personality. I love Egg Drop Soup and I can judge a place based solely on that alone. The soup was unremarkable. We dined in. I would not suggest that. Just order your food ahead and leave. read more

Tonight we got shrimp lo mein, good egg rolls, sezchuan vegetable, wonton and egg drop soups and vegetable fried rice. Because we spent more than $20 on a pick up order we got free desserts, a whole box of Chinese doughnut and filled pastry and cake. The portions were good and the taste was also. The sezchuan isn't nearly as spicy as I hoped but for the price I feel like we got our moneys worth. I will go back, mostly because they gave me sweets ;) read more

This is by far the best restaurant of any kind known to mankind. This Chinese food is to die for. I would walk 50 miles in subzero temperatures for just a portion of their sesame chicken. Horrible. I agree with the other reviewer who says they put Frank's wing sauce in the hot and sour soup. I think they also put it in the schzeuan chicken. Love us some Chinese cuisine and this is almost up to par with Kings Island. Good food decent pricing.

The sesame chicken wasn't, really. More like General Tso's which Is not what I was looking for. No veggies at all with it. A very orange colored sauce instead of brown. This was a total miss. read more

Solid Chinese food with quick, reliable delivery. I've tried several menu items, including hot and spicy chicken, chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, crab rangoons, and egg rolls. All have been freshly prepared, piping hot at pickup or delivery, and well seasoned. The egg rolls were somewhat bland and more wrap than filling, so I don't recommend them. The sauces are on the sweet side--a little syrupy at times--so be aware. Still, fresh ingredients and preparation make this a good choice for scratching your Chinese food itch in the Boonsboro area. And the prices? Cheap! read more
