HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! They billed me a full amount after I had already moved out of my home. I never received the box to return my modem. I called their billing department and it was someone in another country who was no help and who wanted to be no help. I tried to call about the modem and it just keeps you on the phone for hours saying "the estimated wait time is less than 10 minutes." DO NOT USE THEM!!! You will never be able to speak to a real person or anyone who actually cares and wants to help with your account. They will keep billing you after you cancelled service and will not give you any way to speak to someone who will help you! Horrible value and horrible service! There is NO SERVICE! read more

Our service went out a week ago. Not sure why it took a week to get someone out to repair. That is not acceptable if you work from home. The technician first stated that our equipment was outdated and he updated. He then advised There is a problem with the tower by the street that we share with a neighbor. He came back with a part but could not resolve. He advised someone would be out this morning by 9 am. Someone called at 5:30 to advise they could not make it today. This is not our first go round of long waiting for repairs and broken promises. Not sure how this company survived except there are few providers in this area. We do expect a credit for the days of lost service. Their prices have doubled in about 2 years. read more

Windstream (or Kinetic) is the worst company ever. Internet and phone went out 9/12. I contacted Windstream and they scheduled an engineer to come out and fix the issue on 9/19. Not sure why it was going to take 7 days but they said it was the "earliest" they had available. On the 19th, no call, no engineer. Contacted Windstream and the overseas employee I spoke with on the 12th, didn't actually open a ticket and schedule an engineer. Now it's going to be the 25th before an engineer can fix the phone line and internet. 13 days. Customer service at this company is just HORRIBLE. I wish we had another option here but we're stuck with this terrible provider that keeps increasing the bill and decreasing the service. read more

I don't even know where to start. Honestly read all the other negative reviews and KNOW that there is not a shred of embellishment within them. Also my internet has gone out... 2-3 times already and I've been in my home for a little over 2 months..... oh and it took a good while for the internet to even get set up. Absolutely the WORST ever.. we have been long time customers over 8 years.. the last 2 years have been a disaster . We have had numerous technicians out who have changed their wiring, wiring at a box a couple hundred feet from our home and still nothing but problems. This entire year my service area is 30115/ Atlanta Ga. almost every 20 days it changes my IP address to Birmingham Alabama.. they tried to blame my TV provider.. okay we will play their game.. we canceled the TV provider for months.. still shows our IP address in Alabama! Nothing but excuses from customer service with NO follow-up If I wanted Alabama news , weather info I would move to Alabama.. plus we are paying well over $65.00 a month plus! We are DONE and have gone with another internet provider.. hope they give us what we pay for . Once again they are terrible!!!! read more

I do not even have kinetic and one of the representatives came to my front door at 8 am not just knocking but banging on my door. If this ever happens again I will be contacting the authorities. Nobody should be peaking through my windows at all and nobody should be banging on my door to the point my door is shaking afterwards. read more

I tried to get in contact with Wind stream Finance customer service about one question on my bill that keeps rising. I was calling for my mother on her behalf because she doesn't speak English very well but I do. A women answered and she refused to hear me out saying she's transferring me to Spanish even though my mother is next to me and fully capable of understanding.I told her I can translate for my mother so the customer service has it easier. Without hearing me out she immediately said she's transferring to a Spanish translator even though that's not our language, I tried to speak to her but she kept saying she's transferring us. I told her multiple times that I am willing to have my mom listen and be present while I speak for my mom. Without asking me what translator I need, she was quick to assume. I'm not usually someone who makes reviews but I feel very disappointed with this service and especially the disrespect from customer service and lacking the ability to listen to their customers. read more

i'm only giving this ISP an extra star because in the north Georgia mountains, this is all we have. If I was to give anyone moving to an area with Windstream in it a piece of advice, I would implore that they go with another ISP. Windstream is probably the worst service provider there is in the state of Georgia. Firstly, the customer service. The customer service is so worthless, that I guarantee you that you can do just fine without it. The Internet, for me, goes out once every two or three months. Usually, peoples last hope is customer service, where they can solve your problems. However, this is not the case. For every single customer, they ask to repeat steps that don't do anything. they usually ask the customer "unplug the router and then plug it back in." that is like me saying to restart a computer because it has a virus in it. It feels like customer service is being run by people that don't even know how to use a computer in a proper manner. The quality of the Internet is rather poor, I would say. as I mentioned before, the Internet goes out very frequently. I am lucky enough to have a back up, but not many people are lucky as I am. I am not a kinetic member, but I still share some of the major grievances that kinetic customers do. Last year, my Internet went out for two weeks. I contacted Windstream, and they told me the usual, "unplug the router and plug it back in" spiel. they told me that in a few days, they would send someone over to take a look at my router. That "few days" would turn out to take two weeks, because they kept delaying the day. The day before the technician was to come over, the Internet fix itself. Let me repeat that, the Internet fixed itself. If you don't want to read this long rant, the quality of the ISP is so terrible. I understand that they have to provide Internet to the people of the north Georgia mountains, but this service is not worth it. There is no reason or value as to why you should get this Internet. Do not purchase this ISP if you are new to the area because the Internet is unreliable and goes out often with slow recovery times. read more

New customer here. The installation was July 2, 2024. They never set up my username so when I called back after the installation to get a username, Theresa said someone would call me within 24 hours (that was on July 5 and I'm still waiting). Meanwhile I can't get the app nor can I set up the auto payments. I love the fact that they have Fiber out in the sticks but they have lied to me again!! read more

The worse company ever. We had a storm go through and trees brought down power lines. Our electric company had our electric on in three days. Same storm, same situation with a very different outcome with Windstream. We have been without internet and phone for 12 days and counting now. Customer service is no help, their supervisor are no help (when they answer the calls. Waited 42 minutes today for a supervisor and finally hung up after no one cared to answer). I live in a rural area and there is no other options. I've put up with this company for 17 years and every year they get worse. HORRIBLE COMPANY! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. It's the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my 58 years. Up till now we have had no other choice because it's the only internet provider out here, so they take advantage of that and provide the worst service ever. Every week internet goes down for hours or days. I believe we will soon be getting another provider in this area, my advice is to go with any other company, it has to be better than this one. Absolute garbage. I typically get 20mbs download with a constant absolute loss of service every hour for about 4 minutes at a time. Once a week (sometimes more) I will get 3-5mbs for the entire day. Once a month I will be without any Internet for the entire day. It's been for 3 days before. So terrible. It almost makes me want to pay triple the price for satellite Internet, as Windstream is the only provider In my area. Just to not deal with the horrible inconsistently terrible service. read more
